Fibel: And to add , I’ll always be grateful for experiences gathered while in e-hailing because it made me more disciplined and put food on my table while I up-skilled. Discipline that made me stick through the process.
And also to those who think all 9-5 jobs are shitty, I’ll beg you to reconsider. I’ve been an entrepreneur, I have driven albeit for a short while but I’ll tell you that nothing beats the peace of mind that comes with a nice corporate job, especially if you’re in IT. The least I saw anyone earn around me was 400k and those were entry level . My colleagues were all remote workers but we would come to the office at least once a week because we’ve missed the office ambience. Don’t let anybody fool you if you’re young , driving is not a transferable skill that can put you in a good place if you want to japa or live a fulfilled life abroad. If you’re dedicated , your skill can aid your japa as I am a living witness . At the end of the day , it’s a personal choice and all man must run his own race. Nice one Fibel! This cut it all for me when I say ehailing is obviously not the best thing. While one keep striving to be in a better place and position, we should always remember timing and every dog having his own day. Not just some random dudes throwing words without rope or doings. Nice one again chief, more wins. |

A stranger can claim he came visiting. But with a rider feeling fly at the back seat, it's going to be difficult to explain.
It's not an issue. I have seen Abj, Imo, ogun , Enugu, Anambra number plates on ehailing in lagos
You can do your VL anywhere, even lagos vl can be done in Abuja because the funds go to the JTB ( joint tax board) Thanks boss |

Suck to say some folks actually don’t know when to stop. Those you should be wary most of are people that gives you advice without a rope. Someone here was once looking for a car, today he is a car owner, at least he started out from somewhere.
They keep hitting on vacation and my question to them, let them help us with photos of them on the same vacation and as well what they earn monthly(date back to 2023 at least). The number of people they have helped into their so called white collar space since they have been putting ehailing drivers down.
Obviously not saying ehailing is the best thing after Jagaban, but come off the st*pid jokes and needless high horse. Nah here I see where person deh real take Panadol for another person headache. Stay on white collar, yet eyes no gree comot for black collar. They can’t even help their sibling to get the so called white collar job 😂

Glithronix: I started with rental, now the car belongs to me with no pinch. I bought it from the owner last year September @2m. I didn't announce it cos that's not my targeted car (03 big daddy), but had to buy it from the man cos I was ripe enough to be independent. While some people were putting head inside traffic when the 3mb was on full lockdown, I was running my business lowkey and small-small, I didn't drive for the hustle for a single day. I don't drive 6 days a week anymore, I drive Wednesday - Sunday. Sometimes, I drive only Friday - Sunday and put in more energy for these 3 days. When I'm big enough, I won't be doing the e-hailing any longer, but for now, who am I when the legends I learned from are still raking in hundreds of thousands in a month? It will be senseless of me to leave such hustle that gives me someone's salary in a week. I dey mad? Case closed.
Much respect, boss. This life! So you finally own the car and you didn’t bring it to any of the cole’s of nairaland notice. Not ever Palmer Cole, Ashley Cole or J Cole. Anyways, congratulations!! It’s not easy, your nights at Chevron drive finally pave the way. |

And as you're doing the conversion of a land bought 1m now worth 10m, remember to discount for inflation. That’s why I mention Ikoyi in one of my post, unless inflation deh mind. Sales will always be madder. |

Omoapena: So, securing land has no risk?
Someone who wants to create generational wealth will leave business behind for his children to inherit, anyone who leaves behind lands didn't create generational wealth, he only creates wealth...
Have you heard of the story of Jesu oyingbo in Maryland, do you know how much lands this man acquired during his lifetime, if you look at his descendants, they are living miserable but if he had created business with intellectual people managing the business till date, his descendants will be enjoying royalties from the business and it's possible his descendants will be part of board of directors managing the business...
Anyway, we reason differently... I am not saying business is not good, I agree with you on this. All I am trying to say is not everyone is built for business. Business or Land which one bears more risk? |

Omoapena: But do you also know that the money they would have used to buy that land as at the time you feel it's affordable, if they use it to do business and manage the business well, the return they will get will be higher than the current value of land in same ikoyi...
Imagine if zenith bank owner had used the 20m start up capital in buying land and building a house on it, will that land be valued at the current zenith value?
And also, remember not every land appreciates after many years... I guess this point is where we’ve always had this illusion. We mention business so many times without insight or mental capability. Did you think it was only Jim, Tony, Subomi or Herbert that were in the banking sector back then? For every case, million has faded away. You weigh your risk and ask if it is worth it. We keep mentioning 20m, do we also understand the sharp practice behind it? |

Omoapena: It is only a blunder when you haven't had passive income, you don't use your active income to secure assets, you use passive income to secure assets...
Lolz, how can one jump into building a house when you have nothing that gives you passive income, why not use that money to create passive income then you use the proceeds you get to build house.
If you're paying 1m as house rent, it means where you're paying that 1m, house will be valued at 50m, so you will advise someone who's paying 1m as house rent and he/she is able to save 50m from his active income to build house around area where he's paying 1m, so as to stop paying house rent when he can use that 50m to do business that will give him at least 5m or more yearly and pay 1m rent from interest and save the remaining... You don’t build a house, but you secure investment. House rent can barely bring quick returns, but when is time to sell of? You’ve created generational wealth. A land few years ago is worth 1million, to 2million, 3million before you know it hit 10million and on to 50 million within short term. Imagine if your parents left a land for you in Ikoyi today. That’s a step way ahead of your mate. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by pope191: 6:24am On May 05, 2024 |
Djdamian: This discussion focuses more on the individual rather than the E-hailing business. Life boils down to meticulous planning. If someone can strategically map out their path, set clear objectives, and be purposeful in their actions, they can turn a small business into a lucrative venture worth millions.
Ultimately, there are crucial skills necessary to thrive, whether you're in a 9-5 job or running an E-hailing business. This most important skill is financial literacy. Understanding how money works, making it work for you through investments, and diversifying income streams are the secrets to achieving financial freedom. Some people make the mistake of saving excessively, leaving themselves vulnerable to economic fluctuations and unfavorable policies.
Additionally, mastering networking, salesmanship(one's ability to sell anything) , emotional intelligence, and time management are vital for success. I know many corporate workers with high salaries who are still discontent, while others have used E-hailing to start other businesses and are doing very well for themselves. In fact, one of your colleague is currently on vacation outside the country as I speak.
It's not about the business; it's about the individual's mindset and skillset.
My humble opinion. Exactly my tots when I saw Gentlife post, but the troll and negativity the post connote made me to hold my peace. Omopena was right in his choice for words when he says “how many drivers can boast of 600k sitting in their account for more than 6 months”. This life is a personal race, we all got our trials and go on our war. I learn something from Northbird the other day about blocking leakage. Felt that message was for me somehow, not like I spend extravagantly though, but regardless of finding a template that makes hustle easier, I have not been able to save like last year from my projection. Here is it… my formal boss and a friend I used to envy their lifestyles. They only have a car and both husband and wife work in same geographical location. One at Surulere and the other on the Island. Either the husband drops the wife at work or the other way round, pending on who needs the car most for the day. That’s planning and how to mop up leakage, rather then buying 2 cars and put unnecessary pressure on their financial life. I said this because presently I have 3 cars in my possession, I obviously can’t hop into the 3 at same time, who am I trying to impress? Ya! I collect in other to expend fleets, but on my way I don’t think I want to do this again. Since last year, fueling 3 cars, on getting to each and realizing one thing of the other need to be fix, battery getting bad inbetween. Smiles* if one truly wants to fly high? Lighten and do away from unnecessary baggage. I read a story of a lady that earn 360k monthly and she was meant to generate 300m for the company monthly. Las las it’s all about using your head and it’s never a general thing. |

confusedworld17: Ha! In a tense situation like that, don't do the mistake of going to meet rider in their comfort zone to explain what kwanu ? A mob may be waiting for you. Na naija we dey Ooo.. people wey no even know how e take start will jump into conclusion.
You even waste your fuel go dey meet another rider accusing him of stealing a phone. That's another mistake because if nah werey rider u go meet, dem go change am for you.
That rider that refused to pay initially but later paid, God know say if nah me I will not even go on that trip from the beginning because the red flags are already there.
I try as much as I can to avoid toxic riders. Me self get my own frustrations for head but I try as much as I can not to pass it onto another person.
Last Sunday I got a request around 10pm from lekki going to ikeja, normal normal, nah very juicy trip for me that stays on the mainland. But the attitude of the rider made me cancel after like one minute talk over the phone.
Me: Good evening ma, I will be there in 7 minutes going by Google map. Rider : Did not even return the greetings. Just start coming, be fast and that 7 minutes is too much. Me : Still maintaining my cool, I already told you how long it will take, sometimes it might not be up to that. Can you wait for 7 minutes ? Rider : Oga stop talking too much and start coming. Me : Just ended the call, cancel and set my destination back. E no pass like that.
Also, drivers should make sure that their inner lights are working very well, so that anytime a rider alights, there would be enough light for you and the rider to see any item a rider is about to leave behind. I’ll still fault the app companies and the kind of mindset they’ve given the riders. Indrive has made it so easy that you don’t have to start your trip and no lateness. I don’t even disturb myself to arrive till I get to destination. At slight werey, I’ll cancel trip and let’s go on a personal ride. Pearl hope all is well? |

Barbiturate: Omo wahala no dey finish for this hustle!
I picked this lady from old secretariat ikeja to shomolu(oloja, off olorunkemi) After dropping her, I got another one from off folagoro to barikisu iyede(one lounge like that)....a guy!
I closed and drove home after dropping the guy. This lady called me and said she forgot her nokia phone in the car. Apparently she sat in front and I didn't see any phone.
So I told her that I'll check and if I didn't see it, I'll go back to the lounge and meet the guy. I drove straight to the lounge and met the guy with his friends. I pleaded with him but he told me he didn't see any phone. He showed the 2 iPhone he uses. I begged him so much but he said; sir, honestly I didn't see any phone. Then I called the lady again and she rejected my call.
I sent her a message that I'm trying to help her but she's rejecting my calls. She called not quite long to threaten me that she will find me and lock me up, and she will make sure I'm severely dealt with. She also said she will go to bolt office and report me that I'm a thieve!
Omo I just taya for all these wahala! Wetin be all these temptation for God's sake?
Maybe I should just leave bolt and continue with my indrive. I no dey get all these yamayama wahala for indrive.
Meanwhile I told her that I'm innocent and whatever she wants to do, she should go ahead. Boss no vex oo… how you take they talk? E b like you deh very soft. Person go threaten me and I’ll tell him or her to go ahead. You see why you need a touch of violence. This doesn’t make you a bad person, but it’s the world we are living. Balancing is very important. I swear down that girl no go sleep that night, I’ll personally bring trouble to her doorstep. There’s a reason why they always say car park at owner’s risk. Anyone that enters a car should be able to take care of his or her belongings. Boss never go soft on anyone that threatens you, match the fire for fire immediately. Here is another reason I just don’t like Bolt. |

GeneralZodd: The Bolded is fact not an insinuation, some riders are demonically possess. Some riders, spirit of violence dey follow them, some spirit of death, some spirit of badluck. The ones with badluck. Once you carry them your car will start developing fault, you go dey spend unnecessary and unbudgeted money on your car through out that day, week or month. Is either you collide with someone's car, or some one collide with your car. Or you got even enter police or Lastma wahala. Or even get accident. Those ones with spirit of violence, nah dem dey bring up issues that will lead to physical fight, assault and false accusations wey dey make BOLT block drivers accant
A friend of mine once picked a rider from one club at surulere at night going to ikoyi, when they got to Obalende. She ask him to end the trip at ikoyi road where they have ikoyi passport office, she got down from car and threw transport fare to him through the car windows. My guy was sitting in the car, as he bent down to pick up the money and he raised his head. The rider he carried turned to a big dark image and disappeared near the cemetery there.
He said immediately his head began to swell up and goosebumps were all over his body. After that encounter he fell sick for days.
This job makes someone vulnerable to assault, physical and spiritual attack, if you no dey spiritually strong or your head no strong. You go see shege banza.
You know how many drivers wey dey carry spirit thinking they dey are carrying human, Most especially at night. I no blame some drivers wey dey put Big Bible on top Dashboard
Omo make I leave this story for another day. The General Weldone! You’ve won the battle, but the war is still on. I don drop key, climb bed back. Clap for yourself. |

Luxurydriverng: The bottom line is that some job/hustle give you a better quality of life, I have 2 uncles one transport the dead all over the country while the other one retired at 60 from CBN, fast forward to today the one that drivers interstate is looking way older than the one that retired from CBN despite been younger in Age. Ask your self despite all the money you make driving can you afford to take a month or even two weeks off the driving work to go chill in a resort somewhere within Nigeria with your family? I guess the answer is no. You see despite the hard work one can't afford time off. I don’t think anyone want to argue about job advantage, but it is what it is. Where I was yesterday wasnt where I am today and don’t pray to be in same place tomorrow. Like I wrote up there, I only drove for 2 days this week. The reason why you see me here right now is just because of the rain. If it was when I started out, I would have been out there chasing surge. We thank God for life and appreciate the little things we’ve worked hard for. One of your uncle feeling used than the other. Make God protect both of them. E hailing is not hard for me, nah wetin make me stick to indrive. I don’t even see it as hustle again. The thing is just there. I can always use my free time to drive around. About holiday, nah you ask question and nah you still answer em. My question to you is how much do you think it will take to go on holiday. We have crazy mentality here. An average oversea folks save money for the purpose of holiday. They may use 8 months for that project, it is part of their lifestyle. Why don you think an average Igbo man goes home in December and spend like 2 week before resuming his hustle? Boss focus on piling your money, leave plenty talk for Mathias. I travelled to visit my younger sis a few years go, I stayed at her home and used their bathroom and because I didn't bring/buy my own soap I decided to use the one I saw there.
It was this Papaya soap, sweet smelling and orange color then as you use it it crumbles into small small cubes.
I only used it for a week and i started feeling uncomfortable prickly pains in my face and neck, by the second wee my face started to peel before I complained to my sis and she told me it was the Papaya soap that was causing it.
Since that day . . . Even for me use woman soap again by mistake? I get… All brands can’t be same. We have different skins, you just have to understand what works for you. For some it’s just Lux soap and adi agbon that will do the magic for them. I have Dove and Nivea I have to throw away. Those things doesn’t work for my skin.
