goofyone: Divorce will cost him a lot. I don't think he was ready for that. Prenup, prenup, prenup....you keep telling these guys!!
Actually he could have made out well with a divorce if Texas law on divorce is similar to New Jersey's. If you can show that your spouse is cheating, you can ask for half of spouse's assets.
coogar: what a stupïd brainless husband. will exposing the wife undo the ikworikwo that already happened? i am starting to think majority of the nigerian men in the USA are serial wänkers.
If you really listened to the audio and still feel this way about this man then you need deliverance. I feel for the man. That woman really messed his life up. She is lucky that he is the educated and enlightened type. If he were one of those barely educated ones with menial job, she would have been history. That woman is a devil incarnate. I wonder why he didn't leave the marriage earlier. God forbid.
chocolateme: nothing is missing here.. They confirmed from the local government concerning the shop and it was valid. Besides, he did not run away, it's true his help that the whole situation has been under control now. What else has been the excuse except that we refused to pay up the amount, even the police lawyer is processing her release now. It was learnt that she was never supposed to have been there for more than 24 hours.. A SAN has been consulted and Its taking another turn now. She was unlawfully detained beyond the limit she stayed. I will still update you all on how the matter was handled. I also thought there was something else involved but at the end of the whole thing, it's still the fact that my parents couldn't pay them just yet.
Thank God its turning out better. Our country is a jungle. I'm happy your family now has an experienced lawyer on the case. Do keep us updated so we can all learn. God bless.
josite: call police pro on 08038375855.luckily he is IBO and a lawyer. explain yourself truthfully.
Thanks for this information. She should also go to the Nigeria Police website and get the phone number for the Commissioner of Police Anambra State. SARS has no business with debt collection.
cjrane: Even the worst critics of GEJ like me admit he has done very well with the economy. This is in spite of some northern politicians sponsoring a terror insurgency against him.
And those unpatriotic elements who were sabotaging the country now want us to vote them in. People should open their eyes.
bushdoc9919: All those achievements were made possible by one thing....the rise in oil prices during this time.
If oil prices had been below $50 per barrel for the last five years.....none of the ''great strides'' would have happened.
Of course you are right. They need money to make the progress. Don't you think so? With oil prices poised to even go lower, we are in for a rough ride going forward. If GEJ wins, he will need to fortify the economic management team. And they should stop bowing to pressure from selfish politicians. Okonjo Iweala wanted to save more of the excess crude money but the politicians frustrated that move. Some of those politicians are among the people chanting change. Who is fooling who?
WisdomFlakes: Let's be fair; Soludo has practically destroyed whatever is left of this administration's credibility with respect to its management of the economy in the last four years. GEJ's economic team needs to act fast lest he goes down in history as Nigeria's worst administrator.
Only a Nigerian living abroad and only reading opposition news media will think of GEJ's administration as the worst. As Mr. Ohuabunwa wrote, this administration has achieved a lot under difficult circumstances. The average Nigerian is hardly objective nor open minded. Though they improve with education. If you disagree with the position of the article, please write a rebuttal.
Orikinla: This is Femi Aribisala's problem and it is affecting his marriage. He should focus on making his wife Prof. Karen King-Aribisala happy and get over his bitterness against GMB.
We all have family issues. So let us not go there. Just provide a rebuttal of the points he made. I think he did a great job of listing GEJ's achievements. I want continuity. I don't want a reversal of the privatization of PHCN. I want complete removal of petroleum subsidy. And of course I want implementation of the recommendations of the National Conference. If we have a true federal system in place, every other things will fall in place and real progress will start in Nigeria.
God bless you Pa Adebanjo. I hope more voters from the south west heed your wise advice. We need to be fair to all the different sections of Nigeria. Thank you sir, for the enlightenment. Nigeria has a better future with a Jonathan win.
bankylan: I am from the South west, and I believe there is a gang up aginst the South south people because whoever emerges the President will see over the license renewals of the oil blocks that are due in 2016.......I am not a fan of Jonathan, but I will support him for re election. The generals backing Buhari only want the nothing but the oil....they want to maintain their grip on the oil and Jonathan is being seeing as an obstacle....The insurgency was intensified to discredit this administration.........Thank God oil is not in the North, the whole Nigeria would have been enslaved.,,.......But I think we all need to let the North know that they can't continue Ato dictate for all Nigerians......
My sentiments exactly. It's really a gang up. And it's unfair. I hope more Nigerians understand that.
Iamsynord: This people never said he was not running the university well or charged him for Embezzlement Oo..Pure hate..How can someone be a Prof without having a PhD first
For your information, you can be a professor without getting a PhD.
omenka: I read every single word. This is a cutting edge masterpiece! I haven't the slightest of doubt Abati and co would do all they can to ensure Jonathan doesn't lay his hand on the paper. It might make him question all the things he's been told from day one because as it stands, the man seems completely detached from reality, dancing in the rain while his house is on fire.
One thing I know for sure is that Buhari will reduce to the barest minimum the cost of governance. He will do away with all those aircraft Jonathan secured for the presidency for God-only-knows which cost billions annually to maintain. He will free up more funds for capital commitments by ridding the executive of the retinue of needless aides, assistants, and advisers and senior special advisers.
There are just too many means of cutting costs and freeing up more funds to finance capital projects but believe me, it might backfire should Buhari mention some of those things on his campaign. So for now, I'm in support of him limiting his manifesto to what he's been telling us, the stakes are just too damn high to make any daredevil pronouncements at the moment.
Sounds good, but if he does not say what he would do if he gets in, how else do we know. And I don't think it will hurt his chances if he explains how he intends to realise a campaign promise.
domack99: If only PDP stop pushing all the irrelevant allegation on APC and focus on main issue that is bothering the country, APC has been busy defending several false allegations labeled on them by the opposition party.
This is a nice write up, in fact a great one, but I wish Soludo is not sitting on the fence at least so far we know those that try to campaign on issue base and has a manifesto similar to what he outline
Great objective piece by Prof. Soludo. I believe he is not really on the fence. As a top notch intellectual with fans on both sides of the political isle, he would not want to appear to be on any side.
discusant: I just de laugh at these born-just-yesterday Southwesteners who believe that Buhari north shall hand over power to Osinbajo any time Buhari is leaving office. Truth is that if ever Buhari becomes president, any time he is leaving office, a soldier from Buhari clan shall take over in a palace coup.
You understand Nigeria better than most. I still believe that the Buhari/Idiagbon coupé happened not because of the level of corruption during Shagari regime but to keep power in the north.
Mopolchi: My aunty and her little son were in the crushed bus. My thoughts are stuck on them. Thinking of the great pains they felt and the unrealized hope of people extricating them they had before their demise. Not just that, she was the livewire of the family with her petty trade at Mile 12 market since her husband is suffering from or only recovering from a long term stroke. I feel for the children and the husband, my uncle. God gave and He has taken. He knows why? I won't question Him. I will only pray that He rests them in His abode. Aunty, your thoughts will be in my heart. Its an honour having known you. Jee nke oma!
My heartfelt condolences to your family and the other affected families. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.
ishiamu: They tryna force dis fulani man on us... we will resist them no matter how they try to intimidate us
I hope the clueless ones that want to vote Buhari are reading this. You guys might unknowingly be digging your own graves. As Americans would say, be careful what you pray for because you may get it.
HNosegbe: The General seems to think the coup was in order, and on that point I disagree with him. It is an undisputable fact that the coup set us backwards. We can agree that the Shagari regime was corrupt, but what about the state governors? Lateef Jakande? Aper Aku? Olabisi Onabanjo? Melford Okilo? Sam Mbakwe? Adekunle Ajasin? Were they corrupt too? Some of these governors were driving development at the grassroots, delivering tangible "dividends of democracy" to their people, but their administrations were also cut short!!! Worse still, they were replaced by totally inept "military administrators" who knew next to nothing about how to run a state!!! Was that progress or retrogression?
The 1983 coup, like that of 1966, was a terrible mistake that set us back by decades.
Agree with u 100%. If the military did not come in, the democratic process would have taken care of the situation by people voting out the corrupt NPN. Shagari almost lost re-election to Awolowo. It would have taken a miracle for NPN to have won the next election then. And I still believe that that was one of the reasons that Buhari and his boys struck: to keep power from slipping away from the north. I believe Nigerians are a little wiser now and would not allow anyone in uniform taking over govt without going through election.
kross01: same people clamoring for low pump price are same people that will occupy naija if subsidy is removed today but then you can't ask for such low prices without deregulating the petroleum products market and allowing the forces of demand and supply determine products prices and thus private refineries can come on board
Don't mind them. You know, the masses are generally clueless, even in the USA. That's why the founding fathers of USA never allowed the masses to elect the president. Instead their presidents are elected by delegates. And the people here are generally sentimental. Analytical thinking is a rare commodity with us.
dguy4: Op pls get ur facts right before you post anything, America is not an oil producing state, you just can't compare them with us when it comes to crude oil, u compare your stats. with an oil producing state.
Hello there! America actually produces more crude oil than Nigeria.
That's by the way. What we really need is for the govt to completely deregulate the petroleum sector. The subsidy needs to be removed. Allow those with the capacity to import. Encourage private refineries. As long as we continue to import refined fuel, price will stay high. We should remember that the naira keeps falling in value.
dguyindcorner: FAYOSE IS KNOWN TO BE A TOUT SINCE 2007, NO BE TODAY.
SAI APC
Well if what I observed today is anything to go by, Ambode and his group are no better than Fayose. I had to go to Kofo Abayomi in Apapa, oblivious of the campaign rally. The whole place was full of fierce looking touts/area boys. Most of the shops closed for fear of being looted. A lot of people got their phones snatched. Not pick pockets. They just snatch it as you are making call. Some of the touts were brandishing knives. Some vehicles were vandalized. It was scary. This is a sign it would be violent on election day.
1. Question one is not relevant because whether he promised OBJ or any group of people to run for one term or not, he did not promise Nigerians except OBJ want to tell us that he is greater than 170 million Nigerians.
2. What does OBJ mean by question 2? He should tell us what GEJ told him. As far as i am concerned GEJ has handled BH in the most civil way possible. If the Army kills at random, they will be charged wit human right abuse and Nyako would have been right in his letter.
3. External reserve and SWF were shared among the governors, in fact that is the main quarrel btw Amaechi led Gov. forum and GEJ, Amaechi wants it shared Okonjo-Iweala insisted on savings so it was shared with pressure from governors and we can see what FG has done with theirs (Loko-oweto bridge, Lagos Ibadan road, 9 new Univs etc) ask your Governors what they do with theirs
4. The security companies owned by former militants is part of the Amnesty programme which Yar'adua initiated, the militancy in the ND degenerated (escalated) during OBJ's tenure and what did he do about it? but these militants are not acting foolishly like BH (killing their own people and burning their villages).
5. Mr. OBJ question 5 is laughable. US would have arrested Kashamu when he was trafficking the drugs, why allow him till he became a political force in the SW before writing a letter. OBJ is also free to charge him to court meanwhile Kashamu is a mobilizer for the SW PDP and OBJ can hug transformer.
Meanwhile GEJ till Buhari knows the difference between Surname and Othernames
I swear if na Buhari be the only candidate, I go burn my PVC
APC trying hard to package the illiterate mallam since 8th Dec. 2014
I think you did great with your answers. Obasanjo is just playing to the gallery. He is responsible for our predicament. I believe he deliberately picked a pair, Yaradua/Jonathan, that would not out- shine him. Having said that, I am repulsed by how Jonathan romances with people of very questionable characters: Buruji Kashamu, Tompolo, Asari Dokubo etc.
obioraval: We are voting for APGA's Candidate. Engr Ernest Ndukwe for effective representation
I thank God we have a credible candidate like Engr Ernest Ndukwe also running. So people have a decent choice. I don't think an Anambra citizen in his or her right mind would vote for Chris Uba, a thug and illiterate. For Anambra PDP to nominate somebody like him for the senate shows that something is seriously wrong with the party. And if he had the support of the president, then I would really be disappointed. I can see a pattern here, with the president's support for Buruji Kashamu too. It puts to question the president's moral. I can see why he had no problem pardoning the former governor of Bayelsa state. God forbid. Tufiakwa. Chris Uba representing Anambra.
adaybayor: pls tell them...dont know what the complaints are about
Don't you think it is inappropriate for the governor and his team to enter the church with their caps on? If a christian governor had gone to a mosque with shoes on while the muslim members took off their shoes, will it be ok with you? They come across to me as arrogant which is typical of us. I don't know why they went to the church but I hope it is not part of campaign for a political position. They cancelled the positive gesture of attending church with their perceived arrogance.
morganist99: For your Nokia lumia problems...pls post here to get solutions and softwares,upgrading,games...e.t.c
Well, I am getting frustrated by my Lumia 630. It keeps switching itself off. I have missed a lot of calls because of this. I have done hard reset but the problem is still there. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
2undexy: hmmmm...i should have known that not all men have 'common' sense cos their are some who have 'rare' sense...**** **
Geez!. I wonder who is lacking common sense here. So let us know what advise you gave your friend. A girl tells you she can only marry you if your mom is dead and you still want to have something to do with that girl? I think your friend deserves some serious flogging to help him get back his normal sense. Are you for real?
Ogesydney: I said it.. my attention was drawn to this video. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo may not really be the Saint he wants us to believe he is. I will leave it at that and allow you form your own opinion after watching this clip.
Running time: 19mins.* This shouldn't put you off; feel free to skip through.
wisdomguy4u: I have been dating this girl for more than a year; and I intent to marry her. But lately, while she was in my house for a visit we had a hot quarrel ( that's normal ). She was shouting at me, calling me name and swearing ; yes, it was obvious that she was pissed off and likewise me. When things were stating to escalate, I angrily ask her the leave my house , because she was stating to create a scene in my neighborhood . That was when she said something that baffled me and got me thinking. She said a lot of bad things to me , I never took any of them to heart because I knew she was angry , but not until she said this exact words " YOU HAVE TO PAY ME FOR ALL THE SEX YOU HAD WITH ME BEFORE I WILL LEAVE". This got me thinking, have I been dating a prostitute? Why will she quantum sex with money? Now, she is apologizing and asking me for forgiveness . A part of me wants to continue with the affair because I still love her and we have gone a long way, moreover, I have already introduce her to my family. But , another part of me don't want to continue because I feel like I don't know her and that she might have a dark secrets which might explode after marriage. Guys what's your say in this scenario ?
If you still love her, I advise you continue the relationship. What she said is a reflection of the general mindset in Nigeria as regards male/female relationship. Nigerians generally (not everybody) view sex as something only the men enjoy. So the women feel they should get something in return (usually money or gift) for doing the man a 'favor' by having sex with him. I would not hold that comment against her. In the western society though, demanding money before or after sex qualifies as prostitution. If we apply same definition to Nigeria, your guess is good as mine. So, don't take that comment too seriously.
