laudate:I'm not Igbo,I'm a Christian minority from the north, due to the bitter experience of dealings n association with the core north I'm strongly for restructuring, a lot of people for their own reasons may not be favourable to the Biafra secession agitation but be that as it may, based on the current events in the country,we should not just be rejecting issues but we should also be taking definite stand unless we are been hypocritical, that is what I mean, yes it's not by force but it's now a necessity for those with honour. |
OK good, you are not part of Biafra, but where do you stand?,cos the time has come for all ethnic groups to take a stand now that the momentum for or against restructuring is building up,let the men be counted there is no room for sitting on the fence. |
If the main stream Igbo's are really interested in any meaning standing in a united Nigeria then it's time they wake up n talk some sense into KANU to imbibe restructuring into his agitations, instead of the pursuit of unrealistic objective at least in the nearest future, there is a lot we stand to gain in a united country but let's agree on our terms of relationship in all aspects of our nationhood. it appears KANU is been misled by a burgeoning false ego that may inadvertently lead to his disgrace thus destroying the very noble cause he is pursuing wrongly and therefore subjecting those whose hope have been arisen to ridicule, insults n suppression. |
The genuine course of the agitations for the restructuring of the country shall collapse due to poor thought process, greed, lack of coordination, n impossible demands, for goodness sake what is the feasibility of conducting a referendum in the nearest future, what is the feasibility if going back to 1963 constitution, is it not better to push for practically possible position like restructuring based on current state structure with a proviso on future creation of states where possible n necessary, but with more emphasis of political power n economic administrative model acceptable by all rather pursuing a restructuring geared towards radical alterations if the country that is most likely to face resistance?,if this opportunity is allowed to fail, the core north will just jeer at the rest of the country n scornfully treat others with complete contempt. |
President buhari is recovering in a robust manner, but only his doctors in UK can decides when he will return back to the country, after almost two months of just a medical follow up!,what an irony, henceforth any shameless person ,thing or act should aptly be described as APC,may God touch the heart of the UK doctors to keep him indefinitely so that he may recover in a gargantuan manner. |
This is what I have always feared, the lack of unity n poor thought process of this agitations especially from the Igbo perspective, now the struggle is about to go up in flames to the delight of those in support of the status quo,it was clear from the word go that restructuring demand back up with sound logical arguments n persuasions like the west is pursuing is more appealing n realistic but for some reasons some people will have non of it,it's rather pathetic, may be we are just doomed. |
The mugus are all suffering from "buhathritis" now n praying for science to find a cure asap |
On this issue of restructuring, I want to urge all those for,to buckle up n argue their case very strongly with sound reasons n not just condemnation of those against, that way I believe more meaningful progress will be achieved, for a start here is my attempt. Restructuring can simply be defined as the rearrangement of the make up and process or procedure of doing a thing or things, restructuring Nigeria is therefore a rearrangement base on mutual agreement of the structural composition and the political, economic administration of the country.1,Constitution; should we continue with a rigid one or adopt a flexible one, changes n simplification of the procedure of alteration when the need arises, insertion if new provision e.g indegineship referendum, and other matters.1,Elimination of all national symbols bearing foreign character other than indeginous or lingua franca e,g naira notes, army crest. 3,Unified law carefully drawn taking into account our diversity (no penal or criminal codes),4,Mineral resources; control by states n federal, amount of derivation to be paid,5,Legislature; uni or bicameral base on equality of states or not,6,Executive; rotational presidency or not,two terms or single term, procedure if successions. The list is endless, but let there be an avenue where all issues can be table n iron out once n for all,at the end of it all I sincerely feel we will the better for it. |
This man certainly has his brains in his anus. |
Are you actually a man or just some weakling?, it appears your mother in-law that looked at you as someone very confident, it's good to be respectful but it's stupid to allow yourself to be taking for a fool, better man up put your feet firmly to the ground. my mother in-law checking my phone in my house!,God forbid!!,she would certainly know whether I'm her servant or the husband of her daughter. in the first place I don't really like the idea of living with any in-law. |
Try pretending seriously like you are dating a new woman( but don't actually do it),then pay less attention to her attitudes, the watch her reactions,it worked for Someone very gentle I knew who had a really difficult wife that took him for a ride. |
There is a Chinese wise saying that; "don't care so much about a position, but care much about your capacity in that position", a word they say,is enough the wise.we have been Inundated with the sterling qualities of buhari; integrity, honesty, brave, etc,now is the time for proof, after all " a man is judge by his actions n stand in moment of difficulty n controversy, rather than his conducts in comfort ". |
The strength of your character n success in life defines the real man in you, not some dirty alcohol or smoke, don't be cajoled Into simply been a guy behind the crowd, stick to what you believe is good n right for you, just have the confidence n brevity to defend your stand, you will not regret it. |
may his soul rest in piece, but he cheated those who planned n hope to benefit from his death at the time the crash, God is truly wonderful. |
waiting for what efcc n magu will do about this. |
what hypocrisy!, but all the heinous attacks perpetrated by the Fulani's against other ethnic group under the lying guise of their cows been stolen all in bid to take over their Lands as part of their overall hidden agenda of domination n subjugation is never genocide?, it's this kind of bare face double standard that creates doubts n apprehensions in most Nigerians thus making restructuring imperative, events n comments like this brings to question the real intentions of the composition, structure n functions of the country's security n most other institutions especially under this APC administration, now is the time for all the agitators to realized that divided we fall, united we stand.liberty, justce n equality now or never. |
APC must be thinking that everyone else is a fool except themselves for them to be dishing out this kind of blatant lies n after thoughts, even the devil knows the core north is vehemently opposed to real n total restructuring of the country, but now that the APC have inadvertently admitted to technically supporting restructuring, like I have always said, let all the agitators forged a common front guided by sound logical reasoning n presentations, grab APC n the core north by the balls, they will have no choice but to accept the popular demand thus setting the stage for the final corrections of the nations numerous ills towards a well deserved peace n prosperity. |
[quote author=StOla post=57856488]He won a seat because he took up residence along the fringes of Lagos prior to the election. He won his single seat, and has national leader of NCNC he would become their leader in government due to the way the parliamentary system is structured. You don't need to be generally popular, you only need to win your own seat, and by priviledge of being party leader you become the leader either as opposition or as government. Awolowo ensured Azikiwe would only have the role of opposition leader as he formed an alliance with the Ibandan People's Party and other independents to achieve a majority over NCNC. Azikiwe ran back to the East and usurped the Premiership of Dr Eyo Ita. [/courseThis is the very point unongo was trying to stress, zik had to run to the east became Awo played the tribal card to deny him the premiership in the west, the westerners knew from onset that the leader of the majority party would be the premier, they also knew zik as the party leader,Awo probably never thought of zik as any significant force in his enclave only to be shocked n result to the tribal card,Awo was not entirely wrong but he should have foreseen that probability of zik's party victory at least during the build up n work against it at that stage, now like it or hate it Awo will always be blame for introducing tribal politics in Nigeria even though for a good course.so instead of insulting unongo for stating a fact you can with sound reason justify his actions. |
StOla:If every thing you wrote up there is correct then how come Azikiwe was able to win the elections in the first place?, beautiful grammatical expressions don't always means a superior point if argument or defense, there are some bitter truth that can't be denied rather they can be defended smartly,I wouldn't entirely blame Awolowo for what he did,but the truth is that very incident sow the original seed of distrust n hatred between the Igbo's n Yoruba's that has stuck up till today. |
magoo10:yes the north feels there is no unity n determination amongst the agitators, therefore they can easily break their ranks n weather the storm, but if all the agitators can jointly in strong terms makes it clear to the core north that if there is no restructuring then they are all ready for break up,the north will see the danger of isolation n accepts dialogue. |
magoo10:what I mean simply is that,if the whole agitators jointly insist that if there is no restructuring then they are all ready for break up,the north would see the danger of isolation n be force to accept dialogue, but as it is now,I'm afraid there is no real sense of unity n determination which the north thinks the can weather through. |
magoo10:Yes I'm tempted to agree with you,but I think that if the Igbo's insist on secession without the support of the other aggrieved parts of the country that could make things a bit hard for them, besides the north is just been recalcitrant n adamant because all the agitators have woefully failed to unite n present a common front, the north is simply exploiting the disunity that has been the bane of the south. |
The solution to all these is a really simple one, collective negotiations n restructuring.but fear, laziness n greed will not allow the core north, until it shall become too late. |
I said it on a different topic yesterday, the whole of the south n northern minorities agitating for restructuring needs to close ranks n present a common front or else they will end up playing into the hands of the northern cabal who would then scorn, laughs n make a fool of all of us. |
There is no doubt about the feelings of injustice in large parts of the country right now, especially the feeling of been hard done by the core north against the other parts of the country, the Igbo's has been the most voice ferrous about this. most reasonable people agreed that it's only fair that the country is restructured politically n economically with the exception of the core north who has benefited most from the status quo, the Igbo's stands a better chance of realising meaningful gains in their agitations by infusing the condition of restructuring as an antidote to the demand for secession, this way they can easily win the hearts of the SS,SW,n the ethnic minorities in the north who are agitating along that course thus leaving the core north without option rather negotiations, but I'm afraid the present incoherent n haphazard approach by the Igbo's is creating doubts, confusion n a lukewarm acceptance by those who should readily be backing them on a very good cause, the core north will be the ultimate beneficiary of this disunity, the situation may look delicate now but by a careful analysis,it's easy to see that this is a golden opportunity to really remedy the ills of this country finally n put her on a truly great course only if those who felt cheated can get their acts right,we shall cry for a long time to come if we failed now. |
God forbid bad thing, if anything happens to buhari then we would know what Johnathan really went through, but I pray it doesn't get to that again, but it's clear that boko haram has something very fishy about it all along. |
whether we like it or we just hate to admits it,it's a man's world, I pity ladies who put up all sort of attitudes n formulate or pursue all kinds of theories in a bid to equates themselves with or get at men, their ego is simply delusional n self destructive, they would always eventually be the losers, right from creation women were meant to be humble and respectful to men while the men are to protect, love n care for them, developing attitudes just because of some talents or achievements in life which should ordinarily be complimentary is to me a foolish pursuit of an elusive mirage. |
BackToLife:yes I agree with you that Igbo's made mistakes but so has the Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba's n all of us,the feeling or idea that the Igbo's would not be allowed in any other part of Nigeria if Biafra becomes a painful reality is very wrong n dangerous, it doesn't happens that way,in fact there must not be blood shed for Nigeria to split except if that is the agenda of the northern Hausa/Fulani,for goodness sake why is the north strongly in support of the status quo when all other parts of the country are calling for dialogue n restructuring?,but I urge the core north to think deeply,if they think the Igbo's can be pushed away n the country will continue as it is now then they are really on a long thing, that would never happened. |
On this issue of Igbo quit notice,I really believe we are getting so many things wrong, the country must not go to war to break up except if some person choose that path for parochial interest, all Igbo's must not necessarily go to Biafra even if that becomes a bitter reality they can remain as foreigners in arewastan or any other country just as there would have to be foreigners in Biafra, people like kwankwaso n the core north should not fool themselves assuming that the north of today will automatically remained one nation in the events of a break up that won't happen,if anybody doubts it then let's organised a general referendum n see the results,we all need each other seriously in this country we must accept n respect each other as co-partners n do away completely with the superiority complex,we have all made mistakes In this country what we truly need right now is total political n economic restructuring, if only the whole of the south can unite n pursue this common goal, it will be so easy to prove to kwankwaso n his likes that they are only been clever by quarter using the south's disunity to portray themselves as been toon important n superior while in reality the reverse should be the case, the north always talk of food, can't more than enough food be source from other parts of the world?,but the north needs the ocean badly,so who is fooling who?. |
I think this is a good idea but the referendum should not be for the Igbo's only,it should be general so that every ethnic group will decides if they wish to remain in Nigeria or to form their own countries, that would be really great. |
Aren't you people ever tired of this farce of buhari image laundry, you are day dreaming if you think you can continue to fool everyone indefinitely, buhari can not speak to the nation but continue to talk to anonymous sources, you can cook up all the stories you can think of,but the scales have falling off our eyes now we all can see clearly, time shall tell. |
If you are in the guy in ibadan's shoes would you be happy to be inform or not,let your answer determines your action. |

Every ethnic group will make their own decision, after consulting far and wide with their own members. Why not face your own ethnic group and tell them to stand on their own?
Why does the pro-Biafra group, keep trying to attach other ethnic groups into their proposed republic? We don tell una...we no dey do! Na by force?
