Is this phenomenon true?
To what extent can it be proven?
How common is it?

'DNA is really so crazy. Have y'all heard that story about the woman who had a baby with her husband? When he got a DNA test done, the results determined he wasn't the father.
The mother insisted he was the dad so much so that they repeated the test numerous times. The results remained the same, so the couple got divorced and the man refused to be in the child's life.

It later came out that based off the DNA results, he wasn't the father but the uncle of the child. Which was impossible because he was an only child. After a more extensive DNA test, they found out the husband was actually a chimera, which essentially means he had a twin brother that he ate in utero, essentially absorbing his DNA.

So basically the unborn twin brother was the father, even though the husband bore the child.'
I think say Chimere na Igbo na. Nawaoo

It's happens not very rare but rarely discovered. The idea of carrying a part of your unborn twin is crazy. This is a case of Karen Keegan who dna test revealed that she could not be the mother of her three sons.

There is one Nairalander who has achieved nothing in life apart from being a chimera. I wonder if she stopped posting or I got turned off from her attention seeking to focus on better things.

so true if you check it.
People that have two different sets of DNA are called human chimeras . It can happen when a woman is pregnant with fraternal twins and one embryo dies very early on. The other embryo can "absorb" its twin's cells. It can also happen after a bone marrow transplant, and in a smaller scale during normal pregnancy.
In that case the DNA results shows 60% to 80% chance of being the father ...not zero percent

How did he eat his brother when babies do not eat in the womb but are delivered all nutrients through the umbilical cord?

SCIENCE STILL HAS A LONG WAY TO GO IN SOLVING THE MYSTERIES OF LIFE!THIS MAY NOT EVEN BE THE REAL REASON WHY THE DNA RESULT CAME OUT THAT WAY!

The other day it was mentioned that in Islamic law you can't deny paternity in certain circumstances. Some people were saying dna this, dna that. Now, Islam has been vindicated again.

Do you people even know what a DNA test consists of? It doesn't just say the person is the dad/mom but it gives a percentage and probability. For example anything less than 99% is considered inconclusive, anything less than 90% is considered negative or not biological mom or dad. So even with this rare condition, a competent DNA test center would still give a percentage and there should not be much fuss becuase twins have a very close DNA profile.

If any woman cites this without proof that her husband is like that, she is definitely guilty of paternity Fraud.
