Lol, the story isn't entirely true. The way DNS testing works, it's does not a give a digital result (true or false, yes or no), it uses a gene reference to determine to a certain extent the probability of being the father of the child. In other words, even if the man is the brother of the actual father (and not the exact father), the DNA test is able to ascertain to a very large extent that their DNAs match (match doesn't mean 100% same except for very rare identical twins).

So in the case of a Chimera, DNA will still show reference to the Chimera as a match with the baby to a large percentage so there is no way an actual DNA test will prove his not the father. Infact, DNA is so interesting that it can reference cousins and grandparents to grandchildren let alone twins.
so happy to see this comment
I saw this story on whatsapp status and said the same thing

So did the man later agree to accept the kid as his own?

This can never work in this part of the world.. Even if he met the lady intact and DNA test says otherwise dude is over with the relationship fvck Chimera or chidera

Although this is really fascinating

Yes I first heard about it from my former secondary School classmate when I went through her fb page about 3 years ago. She wrote on her bio that she's a human chimera. I first thought she was trying to say she's an Igbo girl. So I was going through all her posts and they were basically describing the phenomenon. It's really very complicated. She broke it all down. And every of her post carries the hashtag #humanchimera.
And honestly I believed it the moment I read it because this girl was a weirdo back then in school and she had some weird physical features that I won't mention here just in case someone here happens to know who I'm talking about. So, yes chimerism is a thing.

Haaa this famzing is serious, I don't even know you.

If I did, till now we would've still been talking sometimes at least, after all these years.

I guess you were one of those who were scared of getting close to me back then because of our Nigerian mentality, fear fear and how I didn't just let every tom, dick and harry into my space.

Anyway that's by the way, I just started writing my #chimera stories last year not 3 YEARS ago biko don't sound like you know me so much.

Yes, I am a weirdo, that part is one of my trademarks, I am not your conventional NIGERIAN GIRL.

The physical features, of course I always talk about them infact I posted pictures on all my social media handles, please feel free to check them out to refresh your memory but don't get scared like you did in the past o.

There is one Nairalander who has achieved nothing in life apart from being a chimera. I wonder if she stopped posting or I got turned off from her attention seeking to focus on better things.

Lol....this comment is not new now, I have seen stuff like this before.

Continue jare but try another method so I can reply well.

For now let me move unto the next sweet one.

I have a friend on NL who is a Chimera. She absorbed her twin brother's cell. She is a woman but one of her legs is masculine. She is a real deal. She is a one in a million chances. Just a few people will understand how specially crafted she is. Thanks to God she does understand that for herself.

Hello, can you please explain what is implied by suggesting one of your legs is masculine? undecided

I did check your threads but yet to find one that, well, explains the claim. You mentioned your big toe on one leg looked different from the other and from another, I read of the differences in complexion and also from the pics one did appear hairy compared to the other- could have been an issue with lighting. But I wonder if instead that assertion was instead in reference to your statement that you bear both your brother's DNA and yours, rather than the actual leg itself being masculine in form while the other feminine. undecided

That twitter handle lied because the man didn't divorce his wife. Infact, the DNA result showed that the child bore 10% of the man's DNA indicating that they were both related(he was the child's uncle).
Cases of chimerism are so so rare and those of germline chimera as in this case are even most rare(at least 1 in a million birth).
This can never be used as an excuse for paternity fraud because a Chimera babies always bear a minute amount of its father's DNA (10% in this case), unlike paternity fraud which there's 0% DNA.

Excuse me! Famzing? Lol don't flatter yourself. You said you started your story last year. Did you read the part where I said I started reading her posts 3 years ago? She's married now and doesn't post anymore. Funny how you completely personalized my post. LOL. I won't prove you wrong because my comment wasnt for you. Like I said, stop trying sooooo hard to be relevant in this comment of mine. What's your catch?

While it is indeed true that this is a possibility, it in no way discredits DNA testing or results as this is a very rare phenomenon.

It’s does happen quite often , that’s why when running a. Maternity or paternity test it’s important to make sure to see things thoroughly.

There’s been cases of mom dna not matching the three children she gave birth to Va.g.a.n.a$ly and CPS took them for a while .

Chimerism is not applicable here. This is pure social media cruise

It’s is , especially Africa having the highest twin birth rate in the world .there’s been cases of women Dna not matching their kids even though they conceive and carry these pregnancies .

Nop it’s not in correct ! Please do your research .

A simple google search or you speak to a Ob or a biologist
Chimeras;
People that have two different sets of DNA are called human chimeras. It can happen when a woman is pregnant with fraternal twins and one embryo dies very early on. The other embryo can "absorb" its twin's cells. It can also happen after a bone marrow transplant, and (in a smaller scale) during normal pregnancy.

Yes chimerism happens after Bone marrow transplant but it is not transferable to offspring.

Yes that too ! However , Chimera mostly happen when one or more of multiple foetus stop developing and one or more of the developing foetus absorb the other(s)

When two zygotes do not undergo fusion but exchange cells and genetic material during development, two individuals, or twin chimeras, one or both of whom contain two genetically distinct cell populations, are produced. The most widely known examples of twin chimerism are blood chimeras.
