in 1997 I have to turn down the request of my elder brother living overseas to come over there, everything is prepared ticket,visa,etc,we are only two boys and my mother is partially down with stroke,I decided to look after my mother than going overseas,it was not an easy decision to make but I did it and my mother lived another 10 years before passing on,she lived to see me get married and name 4 of my children,his grandchildren before she passed on,if again I will ever be given a second chance I will forever choose you as my mother,adieu OSODIEMEAKU.

To move my late mum from one ward to another without oxygen and she was in coma. I'm the last born and even my elder one couldn't take it. Had to sign some papers as well. May her soul continue to rest.

Wow! My condolences to you & family. You just brought back some sad memories 2 me. Same thing happened to me back in 2007. Being the last born, I had to travel with my late sick mom to lagos as she was being transferred from one hospital to another. It was a very difficult period, barely had time for myself. I can still remember taking permission from her to quickly watch the UCL final btw Liverpool v Ac Milan in a near by shop. My her lovely soul continue to rest on.

Do you regret the decision?

Not really. I left Nigeria in 1992, I think I've had enough. Moreover, my wife was (and) still living in Nigeria. It was a tough decision to let go my job, not because of the money but because my service will be seriously missed for a while and I had the best boss in the world at that time. It was tough to break the news to him.
