I've been to many countries of the world and I'm not racist, but when I think about how those developed countries enslaved our fore-fathers. The dis-humanity they meted on them, the chains on their neck and feet, the whip lashings....that alone cannot make my mind to support Japa syndrome.

I have all the opportunities to Japa, but with the presence of mind that this is modern day slavery and neo-colonialism at it's best I cannot fully support Japa. Those countries will continue and forever keep us struggling with the support of our elites because they flourish by our people thronging-in.

Their plan is to never allow us have an Identity, because with identity comes liberation, and liberation drives development. So they will do all they can directly or indirectly to keep us as a slave.

I think the biggest thing is immunity ... your money can allow you to operate above the law.... you can basically do what you want to do with no fear of prosecution. Abroad.... no one is above the law ... despitße having money ....... and power. Donald Trump for example .... having sleepless nights right now fearing the possibility of facing criminal charges and staring at up to 20 years behind bars. Freedom for the rich in Nigeria knoweth no boundaries.

Fair points. However, not everyone who japa'd went to the US. So, the student debt of a thing or mass shootings sounds like Greek to a Nigerian settled in the Netherlands. Also, other West African countries or even few in Southern Africa offer almost similar advantages and are very safe when compared to Nigeria. My major issue with Nigeria is insecurity. I don't like a place where the elites aren't doing anything about the insecurity situation even if I am tucked inside Banana Island.

1. Connections 2. Respect 3. Honor 4. Privacy 5. Less stress compared to rich men in other countries of the world. All the 5 condition is as long as the rich man is willing to invest heavily in security from armed securities , body guards , bullet proof/bomber proof cars, etc while moving around.

Good question. Even as a relatively comfortable or rich person, quality of life in Nigeria is still pretty low. Security remains an issue and being very comfortable could make you a target, traffic is still a frustration especially if you are in Lagos, electricity is still not 24\7 without generator or inverter, everywhere still looks like slum, filth everywhere etc.

3rd world countries are good to relax and enjoy more because they are cheaper to live with small money compared to the developed world.
Most of my captains who are British, Americans, Russians always go to cheaper countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nigeria etc for vacations because they get more value with little dollars they take there.

With 500k per month salary for a family of 4 (husband, wife and 2 kids) in Nigeria for example, you can live in a decent 3 bedroom flat and a better life than someone earning equivalent in abroad.
Building a 3 bedroom bungalow cost less than someone abroad with lesser pressure to work.
Your work rate will be lower to sustain such lifestyle than even someone renting a studio abroad.

There is a reason my abroadians are always calculating their currency to nigeria to come and flex when they come home.
Such money is chicken change over there.
Many guys abroad doing dirty jobs and combining 2 jobs are buying lands in high brow areas in nigeria like Lekki but over there, they are more or less a pauper.

Whatever life you think you flex over there or your standard of living, it cost far far less to do that over here.
