They are two very different things. Sex is putting the penis inside the virgina. It is physical, brutal, unplanned, without love and only one partner is satisfied at the end.
Love-making, on the other hand, is emotional, intimate, accepted by both parties. It involves touching, kissing, romance and most times (but not necessarily) putting the penis inside the virgina. At the end, both parties are satisfied and there is no regret.

Based on my knowledge, love making has to do with emotions, trying to please the other gender during sexual interactions and not just pleasing yourself alone, you do what the other person enjoys and make he/she feel the intimacy unlike sex, it just happens and no 1 get pleased...

Love making boils down to ample fore play and role play while sex is just penetration without any spices

Having Sex is what it is "f**kng". Penetration without emotions, just to satisfy that sexual urge. When a man sleeps with a woman he has no feelings for, its just sex/f**kn. Vice versa. Lovers can also just have sex as well, in the form of a quickie, a sharp one

Love making on the other hand is a complex feeling, most times it involves kissing, touching & eye contacts. They are basically the same thing.

However, this can be differentiated mostly for men.

Sex is simply the act of intercourse while lovemaking is sex attached with emotions and incorporates pre-intimacy and all other activities that derives best pleasure for the couple which are emotionally involved.
