It is because Nairaland is like a masked platform.
In a masked platform, there is high tendency of having fake users.
You hardly know who u are talking to/with.
You don't see there pics, their videos or hear their voices.
In this kind of situation, it very hard to get attracted to anyone.
Even the one you like his or her post may turn out not having other physical attributes you desires in your dream partner.

In other social media, you sees the person you are reading his/her posts. You match his/her write ups with his/her physical appearance and decide whether to shoot ur shot or not.

In Nairaland, you have so many trolls cos they believe no one knows who they are. So you hardly sees anything that will move you to want to have more link to that person.

Finally, the platform is structured in a way that u finds it difficult to have a direct communication with someone you picked interest in.
You have to send a mail which a Moderator will intercept and a message will be sent to the recipient about someone trying to send him/he a message. The recipient will accept it before the email will be delivered. So many users here do not even check their emails. So your friend request may not even be seen by the person u sent it to.

And to add to your points :

Distance is another issue, even if you try to, the person may not be at thesame location with you.

Many of the ladies on nairaland are not ready to build with a potentially good man who is yet to be financially bouyant.

I remember asking a lady here who has a similar complaint like this OP, she never replied me nor send me some links to marriageable ladies.

Lastly, the past of many ladies on NL is intolerable (same with some men here), many are single mothers. etc

Most good and marriageable men on NL are hinderd by money , they may not be as financially bouyant as you want.

If you are looking for a good, mature, responsible, God fearing, hard working, with high moral quotient man you should know that such principled persons may not want to bribe their way to wealth or do what will make them lie to get illegal money, so be ready to put up with with those. I have met Nairalanders who are big-time trolls here but are cool guys in reality.

Some are even family men with decent jobs. Nairaland allow them express themselves in ways they naturally won't.
