His Pastor must have told him his destiny is in car wash industry.

That is how one told a woman that had been into fashion designing for over 2decades that her carrier is in Nursing, she quitted her biz and learnt Nursing for 3 years in a hospital. After she finished no tangible job, she had to return to her fashion biz after 5years break.

Full staff different from contract staff. Entry level positions for some of these banks is not less than 300k and they still pay them bonuses.

An average Nigerian banker earn between 500 to almost a million per month depending on level.

From management level upward, bankers are making good money.
But na senior roles dey chop money pass. At the very top level management, they earn hundreds of millions in bonuses. Their directors make up to billions
But to get to that stage is very difficult.
Banking is not that bad in pay but job insecurity, poor career growth and flexibility plus very toxic working environments

His friend might be right that he can get 5k per day.

Maybe the business is slow this time around because of subsidy issue. It would bounce back soon.

Life is about risk but this was a stupid, especially that he didn't open the car wash for himself; something he could have easily done as a side hustle. Then he make a decision based on prospects.

Don't mean to be funny or insensitive...stories like this make me wonder if people are truly under spiritual attacks...the whole thing makes no sense.

I won't advice he moves in with you because whatever plaques him can become what will drain you as well. Help from afar and start minimizing because you can continue to encourage bad behavior.

For all you know, he might be on drugs, was fired and making up all these stories.

So I have this friend, a close friend that works in a bank in Lag, he lives In his family house because his parents are late and he earns 70k plus,though he complains every now and then that the salary isn't much, if he collects salary by month end, before the 10th of the following month,he is already calling me for help on transports and all that and once in a while I help him with 1k or 2k to take transports and all that.

Last weekend,he was discussing with me on WhatsApp about car washing business,telling me it's lucrative and all those....I didn't pay much attention to it until he called me on Thursday and started crying...I asked him the problem,he told me a cousin of his sweet talk him into car washing business that it is lucrative and he can earn as much as 5k a day washing cars and he dropped the bombshell

He told me he sent in his resignation letter on Monday and Parked out of his family house telling those ones that he has been transferred to another branch, he moved to the one room apartment the car washing company provided to him n 3 other guys and started work. He said he hoped in his mind that if he can make 5k a day, he can save as much as 3-4k daily and that is a big improvement to the bank work

The reason for the lamentations now was things are not the way his cousin told him,he said since last week Monday up till this moment, they have only washed maximum of 3 cars per day and at the end of the day, the owner only gives them 5h each in which he used for eating. I requested for video call on Sunday and he is seriously looking lean and unkempt

He apologized that he didn't seek an advice from me or anyone before taking that bold move, he told me he is seriously depressed and wants me to profer a solution to him

Problem now is,he told me he is ready to quit the work and come to a different state that I am in other to restrategize.....I don't know what to tell him because I don't have much too and I'm struggling too because I'm sure if he comes,I will be fully responsible for feeding and all that
Moreso,I can't tell him "No" because right now,he has no where to go,his parents are late and he has already packed out of his family house rendering him homeless,moreso he is my very good friend

He should pray for salvation first.
He has been delivered from the bondage of being stuck in a slave job. Note, not all bankers are in bondage depending on the contract.

Once he sorts the spiritual aspect out, he should do a job that can help him build a skillset that he will be able to start on his own and establish himself. He will need to be patient and endure. Atheist give himself 3 to 4 years to become an expert in his chosen field while also building himself in Christ.

Life really is easy when we take fear, shame and vanity/pride away and accept God's timing and process.

U know what, have always said that the problem with many people is not government or other negative factors in Nigeria, it is simply mental intelligence. Honestly, it's not enough to go to school, what matters most is your common sense to navigate through issues of life. Tell him to write letter back to the bank, telling them how he was deceived but his friend, am sure he may be reconsidered.

Haba I use to run a carwash business it usually done 50/50 currently a car is around 1k for normal washing and the boys collect 5h per car not to talk tips they get from customers. Back then the max we wash car was 7h before we packed up because of the land issues my boys about 5 do go home with 7 to 10k each every week after I have removed what they took as loan.

Na how many people dey wash cars these days? Na how many people dey even drive their cars Considering the cost of fuel? If mechanics can complain of very low patronage, who are car washers? grin His friend just tested the dept of the river with his 2 legs at once. Now he is drowning and grasping for life.

People haVe packed their cars now. Car wash is not lucrative right now. Except you are located in a high status area.

Before I begin, I swear to God who made me, this is not a lie,this is a true story....The story may seem long

So I have this friend, a close friend that works in a bank in Lag, he lives In his family house because his parents are late and he earns 70k plus,though he complains every now and then that the salary isn't much, if he collects salary by month end, before the 10th of the following month,he is already calling me for help on transports and all that and once in a while I help him with 1k or 2k to take transports and all that.

Last weekend,he was discussing with me on WhatsApp about car washing business,telling me it's lucrative and all those....I didn't pay much attention to it until he called me on Thursday and started crying...I asked him the problem,he told me a cousin of his sweet talk him into car washing business that it is lucrative and he can earn as much as 5k a day washing cars and he dropped the bombshell

He told me he sent in his resignation letter on Monday and Parked out of his family house telling those ones that he has been transferred to another branch, he moved to the one room apartment the car washing company provided to him n 3 other guys and started work. He said he hoped in his mind that if he can make 5k a day, he can save as much as 3-4k daily and that is a big improvement to the bank work

The reason for the lamentations now was things are not the way his cousin told him,he said since last week Monday up till this moment, they have only washed maximum of 3 cars per day and at the end of the day, the owner only gives them 5h each in which he used for eating. I requested for video call on Sunday and he is seriously looking lean and unkempt

He apologized that he didn't seek an advice from me or anyone before taking that bold move, he told me he is seriously depressed and wants me to profer a solution to him

Problem now is,he told me he is ready to quit the work and come to a different state that I am in other to restrategize.....I don't know what to tell him because I don't have much too and I'm struggling too because I'm sure if he comes,I will be fully responsible for feeding and all that
Moreso,I can't tell him "No" because right now,he has no where to go,his parents are late and he has already packed out of his family house rendering him homeless,moreso he is my very good friend

So I seek an advise from you all
Pls advise me, I'm confused!
First thing first, he is not a good friend, you may consider him a good friend, he doesn't consider you the same.

An adult should understand that decision have consequence, let him endure for the time being, you help him get job, don't carry unnecessary responsibility of an adult, you will regret it oh!

Making a life changing decision like moving out of his house and joining a friend, it's either he is a smoker and the has a strong connection with the said person.

There are different kind of jobs in a bank.
Be that as it may it's a wrong decision.
