Had exactly this experience with the oppo phone I got from jumia.
U won't even see the call dial, the next thing is flash SMS on the screen showing call summary.
Once I check my balance, everything is gone.
I blacklist numbers tire, e no work.
WhatsApp banned me, used my mum's line to open another account, that same day I was ban.
Twitter banned me too...
Don't know what I was checking, I went to jumia inbox and realised the oppo phone I bought as brand new was actually refurbished phone.
Don't know whether that's where the issue was from..
But this new phone am using, haven't experienced such yet.
I pray someone share lasting solutions to this issue

I had exactly same experience you had. Bought oppo phone though not from Jumia.

I factory reset my phone and for more than 24hours now it has not happened again. I just hope it continues like this.

Got same experience now though slightly different from yours, my other sim whose phone battery was dead just flashed me. I was seriously surprised and I remembered this your post.
It's really terrible and scary at the same time.

There is nothing to worry about..... Ur SIM has expired and u need to do a SIM swap or welcome back.

Exact thing happened to me a month ago but mine was only sending SMS on its own to random numbers...infact some called me at that period sternly warning me to stop sending him SMS.

I was banned severally on whatsapp and was also being achatted up by foreign numbers.

My mtn network disappears and returns intermittently.

When I had time two weeks ago, I went to mtn customer centre, and they told me I need to Change that SIM..... I did, and since then it has been working well.

You must have downloaded whatsapp from untrusted site.. Especially GB whatsapp. I can fix it for you

Will SIM lock alone suffice or be enough for some time pending when the phone is changed?

Did u format the phone? Or what solution u use?

Maybe its not the sim, your screen might be touching.

First of all, you didn't state what phone you're using and thr model number.

If your phone dials number by itself when locked , you are using a refurbished phone, check your imei in the phone and check the the one on the battery you will see difference.

Just change your phone
