Enice:Exactly, a lot of foreigners in Nigeria, so go where works for you, don't make it a big deal. Some people always think everyone thinks and have same aims in life like them... everyone is not in same situation or same boat, this generalization of Nigerians is bad, and nairaland is a free place for them...all these gives bad impressions about Nigeria and Nigerians. Most Nigerians I know do not dream or talk of traveling out, some travel for holidays and come back... Nigeria is not hell, it has good weather, good food, opportunities, less taxation, less stringent policies on a lot of things you can take advantage of. |

pansophist:Best argument supporting Japa, you made me re-think my position, the reason why I have not taken Japa seriously is because with a couple of more millions I can take advantage of the the dysfunctional state, make more money then decide if I should stay or leave, but I must take advantage just as our politicians and pastors took and are taking advantage. |

Gerrard59:Other instances are successful YouTube content creators, successful bloggers, freelancers and big capital crypto traders. They earn in fresh sweet dollars and they smile to the bank every payday especially when dollars price increases as other Nigerians are complaining of inflation. Those people have no reason to japa. Because expenses in Nigeria is less compared to western countries they could have japa to. They will enjoy their dollar earnings better in Nigeria. |

Ukraine has a population of about 41 million. Only about 8 million have left the country despite the war. Not everyone wants to live in another country. |

CaveAdullam:Oga our problem is the system and not individuals and the only solution to the problem is REVOLUTION. Aftermath the revolution, if the new government is corrupt too, another revolution until we get it right, we are just too wicked in this country and it is ignorance that is actually affecting us. we are too selfish, our leaders that got independence for us too was as a result of being eager and greedy. Nigeria wasn't ripe for independence as at the time they agitated for it that's is the genesis of our problem. |

ikorodureporta:.....to Japa a person needs money amounting to millions...will you trek to the foreign country you want to Japa to.... flight ticket that is very expensive now, paying for accommodation, feeding ,proof of funds, visa fees, and other expenses one will incur over there...one must have enough money before one can plan to japa so he or she can take care of himself there over there ...before even trying to get a job over there |

tensazangetsu20:Haha which kind of statement is this? Were you there when God was coursing Africa? Yaradua and buhari had good intentions but the system was too corrupt for them to thrive. Let me tell you the honest truth, no matter how trustworthy you are you cannot rule Nigeria so far we are still practicing this useless democracy. |

pansophist:This is brilliant. Look, let me add. It's not that there is no free museum in Nigeria. There is no museum period. And thank you for mentioning architecture and libraries. Not to speak of monuments. We are such a harried people that we don't think of the finer things in life. Even other African countries sometimes do. Example, the African Renaissance Monument in Dakar. That thing is comparable to the Statue of Liberty. When one visits a city, there should be highlights to see. What exactly does a tourist have to see in Great Lagos (I love the place don't get me wrong) or Government Abuja? At best Zuma Rock. |

pansophist:The Godly wisdom is that you shouldn't use your mouth to condemn your future. God can change our story. Let's keep blessing Nigeria. Proverbs 11:11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. |

RickyJesus:How is his disdain for voting Buhari tribalistic? Was 2015 not a turning point for the worse for this country as is obvious to everyone? Personally I didn't need all that happened to happen before I railed against Buhari. His antecedents were there but we are a blind and daft electorate. |
