I don't believe you because I know that all the folks whose marriages are crashing today made those choices themselves... but arrangee style which our ancestors used kept them with their wives till death...

So it is more of how you build and manage your home...whether you made the choice or they did on your behalf...

Well, it all depends on you and what you feel tho. As for me, I don't believe in arrangee stuff. Mind you, it lasted in those days because of our strict adherence to cultural practices which ensures the woman is completely submissive to her husband and makes a huge abomination out of extramarital affairs on the part of the female folks.

Imaging people being so free back then how they are today, the marriage crashes would have been terribly alarming.

When bringing the past in comparison with the present, be sure to note that conditions of today are completely different from that of the past.

Actually the reverse happens also to men. I've had female friends and once I ask them out their attitude changes and they begin to misbehave. I think it depends on the maturity of the individual. Besides men ask women out everyday and get stone walled with rejections, I think it would be a good experience for women to try asking a man out at least twice in a week for a change...
