Hello people,
How is duration of work experience counted? For instance I worked from August 2012 to October 2014, is it two years and three months if I count by months or 3 years when I count only the years.
Awaiting a response.
Thanks

It would be counted as 2 years.

Ontario is open at the moment but they won't take you because you need to score a minimum of 400 to be considered. Alberta would have been your best get as that's where the oil is and seeing as you're a Geologist however due to the slump in oil prices it's uncertain if they'll open nominations soon. I think Saskatchewan is still open but I'm not too sure. Check out the link below, it's very helpful.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-who.asp

Thanks Zandora, I checked Saskatchewan PNP and discovered they didn't list Geologist as one of the in-demand occupation. Apart from the two provinces. which other options do I have for increasing my CRS.

You need the certificate number on your IELTS report form and the reference number on your WES certificate to create a profile. In essence you'll have to wait until you receive these docs.

You're going about it the wrong way. You'll need to create an EE profile first and submit it. After submission you'll be given a job seeker validation no/code and a link to job bank. Just click on the link, put the nos/code and register. You won't be asked for a SIN no as you'll be registered via EE.

What you need to do is create another account under WES Canada website but alter your first or last name a little bit so that the system doesn't redirect you to the WES USA website if you use the same name you had registered with. However you will be able to change your name to the correct one once the account has been created.
Hope this helps

You'll need to use the application no starting with EE and your job seeker validation code which is usually the last 4 digits if your passport no.

Thanks for your help, I have successfully registered. I was viewing the PDF on my iPad, so it didn't show the two numbers, but I opened with my laptop on someone's advice and I saw it,

The least acceptable band is 6 which is clb 7 however, IELTS helps boost your overall CRS score and as such, I usually advice people to try and get the maximum score. I've seen how someone with an overall band score of 7 can get extra 80marks if the band score were to go up to 9. You need 8.5 in Speaking, 8.0 in reading, 7.0 in Speaking and 7.5 in Writing to get the highest score allocated for language test under EE

I'm not too sure about this but you can try it. There's a dedicated page for ECA for CIC purpose on WES Canada, try and locate the page and then login with the login details you already had for that of the USA and let's see if there would be a change.

You can apply, as long as your work experience falls under one of the list of occupations they want people for. Meanwhile, it's not only Nova Scotia that is open, New Brunswick and Saskatchewan are also 'on board' wink

Hello House.
I've got some good news but no related to the FSWP.
I recently secured funding for a Master's program in the UK, to start September 2015.

Please I need to know the right time to inform Accra VO.
From my estimates, I should be receiving request for medicals in the month of August or September (October applicant), so I'm trying not to prolong my process time.

Damkollins and Solowise, its been awhile.

10th Draw done, with 482 as cut-off score and 1501 ITAs issued.

Good they chose people without PNP or LMIA approved jobs but, having had draws with a lower cut-off before now, the present cut-off shows people are either entering the pool more and more or people in the pool are improving their score, or a combination of the two.

Let's hope it falls lower and lower to accommodate those who may not have as much as high score or, folks may decide to improve their score majorly by doing IELTS again and score very high
