I applied for US visa and approved for 2 year tourist visa in February 2016. I have used this visa 3 times. I used it in May 2016 - I stayed in US for only 1 month I used it in September 2016 - I stayed for 5 months I used it in August 2017- I stayed for 3 months. I never overstayed or give birth while in USA About to go for visa renewal in December or January. Need advice from gurus in the house |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by OmoBendel24: 5:45pm On Nov 27, 2017 |
Lamide123: Yeah, you haven't overstayed. But the 9 months you have spent in the US of the 21 months since you first got the visa was for what purpose if I may ask? What did you tell them at the interview was job in Nigeria/place of residence when you applied for the visa? The answer to your question mostly will lie herein! It's good the CBP haven't had issues with you just yet, but this of course will hardly pass the VO's radar unnoticed or unattended.... Of these times too, have you visited other countries? |

OmoBendel24: I stated my intention during the interview that I am planning to visit my kids (kids - 12 and 14 years old). My kids are staying with there father in US (We divorced 10 years ago). I visited canada last year while I was in US, stayed for 1 week. Canada visa expires in 2020 6 Likes |

ojoduoludare:No need to ask, you should ask yourself if it's normal for an adult to sponsoring another adult and his family who are not blood related? I'm not sure the V.O will accept that. 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, greetings to you all. I made a mistake of filling my First name as my native name instead of given names. I have submitted my Ds 160 form and I have an appointment this week in Abuja. How can I rectify this? my surname is correct on the form and only my middle name is filled as the given name. |

Lamide123:Ma'am, truthfully, you can only pray that you don't get grilled bases on the length of stay in the US. First visit was for 1 month, which is still okay. Let's say you left in June 2016. You went back three months after in September 2016 and stayed for 5 months! You probably left by February 2017. You went back again 6 months after again and stayed for 3 months. Lets be truthful, I am convinced you were working while in the US and I am pretty sure the VO will also think the same. I am pretty sure you told the VO that you were working when you went for you visa interview.. they will ask you how you were able to leave your job and be on vacation for so long... MamaOO: Lol! Her story is not adding up. She pretty much must have worked at least under the table like doing babysitting jobs or used someone else's papers to work. If not then how was she able to sustain herself financially for almost 10 months in the US? Either way, she can go ahead and try her luck and see what happens with renewing the US visa. 1 Like |

LadyGuinivere:@ladyG, thanks a bunch, this info is very appreciated. This has been bothering me. So if her mum gets to fill the consent form, we are good to go?. We have lots of family pics taken with her at various times. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by LadyGuinivere: 8:24pm On Nov 27, 2017 |
Zimzee:Erm. Based on your story mma, if I were a vo, mere pictures wont suffice. But what I know? @Lamide, the process for dropbox is on the website. If you didn't misuse your visa then you should not have a cause for concern. If you did, then.... Do that you planned to do when you got to the this bridge |

Beautyaddy:That is true story. While in US I stayed with my baby daddy. I didn't do any paid job either over or under the table. I look for job but I couldn't get one. Also my baby daddy doesn't want me to work. I don't have any reason or reasons to lie to you guys cos you guys are not the one to make decision. Just seeking advice 1 Like |

I'm sure the founder of this forum is somewhat disappointed with what most of y'all talk about on here, I don't read advises, all I read is judging, insults, badgering & all, which is very sad. Reading comments from people lole@MamaOO & @Beautyaddy makes me sick, condemning someone that ask simple questions based on her travel history. In ny option, this forum has lost its original purpose. 9 Likes |

Good evening pals.. Please, I need your honest advice on an error I made why filling the Ds160 form online. I just realised that in the place of birth, I mistakenly omitted the town I was born. I only filled the City, State and Country. (Example: Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria). But on my International passport, I have it written as "Town", City, State and Country. (Example : Ugo, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria ). I already submitted the form before I noticed it. Please house, will this have a negative effect? ? I humbly await your reply. . . |

wanle22:Where did we condemn her? I only said the truth. And I’m glad I am not the only person who shared that sentiment. How was she able to live in the US for 9 months without a job? Who kept buying the tickets for her to go back and forth without a job? I am honestly surprised the CBP guys didn’t question here for coming back so soon after her last exit and staying for long. Why am I even going back and forth with you? If my answer sickens you, go puke for bathroom or go to the hospital. Abeg, go Sidon somewhere jare. 1 Like |

No issues bro. You're fine based on my experiences from the first part of this great thread. One can only have issues when administrative processing is required which will affect intended date of arrival. Many people dey your shoe so relax. And as for the person wanting to renew her visa. I'll kindly advise you to prepare for the likely questions on what you've been doing in foreign land for the accumulated months. You can only escape a vo harsh judgement only if you'd told them initially prior first application that you're not working in Nigeria.... which I doubt it's impossible. wanle22:Your brain must be filled with rocks! I guess you had amnesia and your brain blanked the area where she said she had a job but quit the job in 2016. You sound really pained! Talk about crying more than the bereaved. If she is confident she didn’t do anything illegal while she was in the US, why is she scared of renewal? And since you’re talking about people’s mom on the Internet, I’ll welcome you to go visit mine where she’s currently at. 5 Likes |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by LadyGuinivere: 5:51am On Nov 28, 2017 |
Zimzee:I'm sure there are things over the years you did in her school... Like pay School fees, enrol her into school. All that. My advice for you would be to take charge of the Interview. Bring up the issue by yourself. So the vo won't just assume things and deny you. Are you in Lagos state? I understand the family court there can give Co guardianship with the birth mother. I suggest that you get some form of a legal covering cos this is a minor. Make enquiries on what is available in your state and post back |

Good morning good people. Mbok ekud yaresit! Can we channel the energy from fighting to helping? Can we not be quick to reach judgments? Yes. Some things seem true. But they may also be not so. In which case I believe every poster should be given the benefit of the doubt. Personally I am of the opinion that most Nigerians lie but I have been blest to meet some very honest travellers here. It feels terrible when folks reach a hasty conlusion What am I saying? In replying we can always find the best possible way to post stuff like " how were you able to survive in the US for so long? The VO may want to know that" Ok bye! Back to waka pass 4 Likes |
