Does God submit a list to all embassies to favor some people and disfavor others? Visa is obtained by Atheist, Muslims, Christians, those who speak against God, those who love God, babalawos, voodoo worshippers etc in my personal opinion which I am entitled to, Visa approval has nothing to do with favor, Nigeria is such a religious society that everything is connected to God, favor, anointing, sow a visa seed, go for deliverance to obtain visa, and yet while doing all the spiritual, we forget the weightier matters of the laws of the same God which is truth, mercy and Justice, the same way God allows rain and sunshine on all his creation despite those who hate him, weather Atheist, voodoo worshippers, Muslims, pagans etc God is not a man that we box into our corner to use like ATM machine to withdraw cash, his ways are weigh higher than that of man, let me digress abit, most of the Western Nations we run to don't subscribe too much to God and yet the system is working very well for them, as kids they ate taught to always tell the truth, love everyone, own up if you commit a crime but over here in Nigeria, we do all manner of atrocities, lie in the visa forms and go to church to ask for favor, which favor, God has given us brain to think and do the right thing than this endless charade of trying to use God and that is my bone of contention, this will be my last post on this issue, open a thread and copy me and I have so much to tell you if you want, China is more or less an Atheist Nation and yet that same God is causing them to prosper, I guess your phone might have it's part from China, God is too big to be boxed into our small corner, his ways and thought are weigh too much for mortal man, like I said, open a thread and let's talk God, God is always good and I believe in Him not because of what he has done or will do but because he created me to worship Him in truth and holiness, I will not respond to you here, l don't want to derail further, enjoy your day cool

Hello LADYGUINIVERE, JUSTWISE & TWOODS, I want to specially thank you for the insightful comments you are giving here. I have really followed this thread and I have seen several case studies and scenarios.

I had to register to ask a question because I want to fill DS160 and book appointment.

I have a conference I want to attend in the US. My company is sending me and sponsoring the trip. The flight tickets and hotel accomodation will all be booked by my company. I will be given a cash at hand of about $1000 to $2000 for feeding and other logistics. I will be staying for only 2 weeks.

I have worked in the company for more than 10 years.

I am married with a child. My wife is a student in 300 Level.

I have a letter from my employer that he's sending me for the conference. I have the company's bank account statement.

Please, I don't want to ask about my chances?

I want to ask if these ties are strong enough. Job. Wife. Child.

Thank you.

NB - I have never traveled out of Nigeria before. I have never been denied visa of any country before.

Please house, am about applying for visit visa to the US for a conference in my field by January...please I want to ask, can I apply with my younger son who is just about 1yr6mnth old...what are my chances? Note, I have been to a couple of countries in the past but alone.

How will you take care of your son while attending the conference? That's a question, the answer to which you need to keep in mind for your interview and your trip.

Storystorystory, travel history could be your strongest tie. Consider visiting another visa-scrutinizing country before visiting the US.

Hello everyone I am new on here as someone introduced me here ..Now this is my issue ...An unfortunate incident happened as I got robbed and my passport was stolen with my ATM cards .. I went to the nearest police station to make a police report and avidavict as I was adviced to get a new passport before proceeding to the consulars office to make a report .A day to the new passport to be out , I got a call from the police that my passport has been recovered with other stolen items( Note: I haven't reported at the embassy yet) .. so I went to the immigration office and told them my passport has been recovered and asked if I need to go to the embassy again .. I was told that I don’t need to go the embassy that all they(immigration) will need to do is to put a cancellation on my old passport without tampering with my US valid visa on it since I got a new passport. I asked why? And I was told that Holding two valid passports will give me a problem, so in order to avert that , they will need to cancel my old passport but not the valid visa on it.So i was told that I will need to hold both my new passport and old passport while traveling (Note: I was told that a valid visa in an expired or canceled passport is still valid which I also did some few google search and saw that it's true)..so I want to ask if this is right and won’t give me a problem at the US POE ? Thanks

Why would you trust the advice that will be given to you be literal strangers on such a sensitive issue when you can call/ email the embassy and have the best info given to you.. On record too so you have it on record in case you run into issues

OK then. So you are good abi? So no need to still all if you are satisfied
Is your passport expired? Are you on all fours with that scenario? The point I am trying to get you to understand is that you should, in all situations, set stuff on record. You lost and recovered your passport and already have a new one. Which would be wiser? To just inform the embassy here or speak plenty grammar at POE?

That's exactly my question, but I don't know the best thread to ask it, please you can help me with the answer if you have the idea, the question again is, can a student on F1 visa apply to Canada visa here in US or I have to go back to my home country to do that?

Sure, you are in a good position to do that, even way better than a visitor to the US, provided your studentship can be substantiated, your purpose of travel makes sense and resources are available....

Kindly visit this thread too https://www.nairaland.com/2103860/canada-visit-tourist-visa-discussion/179

LadyGuinivere is right......

The question you asked is still about your chances just like you wanted to enter the house through the back door.

If you have a better understanding of what you have read in the past, you should be able to do a proper evaluation of your circumstances and your ties.

We can't determine your value....

Evaluate yourself and go get your Visa.

Hello House, please i have an issue that requires your swift advice.

I applied for b1 b2 visa in December 2016, i filled married as my status and entered my then fiance's name as my spouse(he already had his visa then). In Feb 2017, i attended the interview and my visa was issued. A month after, the relationship crashed. I got into another relationship in September with an Nigerian American citizen who came home in August, and immediately we did traditional marriage.

In Oct 2017, i travelled to meet him and we fixed our church wedding for Dec 9. One of our invited guests from Nigeria was delayed at the POE when she told them she was coming for my marriage. She was asked if i was married before and she said no. The US immigration people called my husband asked if i was married before and he said no. After series of scrutiny they allowed my in law entry.

We discussed this with the American pastor in our church and he said the wedding be cancelled that he can't join us together.

Please what do i do at this juncture. My passport and visa carry carry my parent name.

Apart from travel history I think you have good ties even though you did not reveal how much you earn... Give it a try and I'm sure if you know your onions you should get the visa.

Madam
The simple truth is that you lied on your application. Why you did that, only you know. You didn't think about the future while you were doing all that.
Even if you end up getting married, getting permanent stay will be very difficult. Get a lawyer to advice you further. I won't do that for free undecided
But I can tell you this for free.. . Allegedly engaged... Separated after visa issuance....got married after a month to another guy. Went to get married. Reeks of marriage fraud for which Nigerians are popular for.....

FYI this is not the appropriate thread for your question. Visit the migrant thread

Those that has same profile as his has been given visa before so travelling experience is not the only yardstick here though it is good but he can be given or not.

No, you don't.... If she's your daughter that wouldn't be much of a big deal just yet for you, you should be able to handle that, actual travel time may be another ballgame though.

You can cancel and fill another, and then update your profile on the CGI portal with the new number.... I will try and ignore the twist and turns inherent in the other parts of this your post vis-à-vis your previous posts.

Learn to exit right on time I must advise so you don't start getting on people's nerves unwittingly. Others may counsel you along this line if they have all the patience though!
