I so much love your write up. I served this n Sobi Cantonment (Army Barrack) during my NYSC, and I noticed something with the military men, esp the soldiers. An average soldier (the guys now), is very nice, accomodating, friendly, etc when they are in mufti.... But when they are in their camouflage, it's like a demon is attached to it. They go haywire and almost act like they don't know you, ready to "discipline" you at the slightest opportunity... My NYSC identification item was usually my saving grace...... I don't don't really make friends wit female soldiers so can't say same for them. The male offices I knew were mostly promiscuous, and the female once were very nice. Had one that was always wearing a big smile each time we saw.
Question is..... Could there be a particular reason the male soldiers do this (perhaps the kind of training/treatment they were subjected to) , or it's just the calibre of soldiers I was opportuned to study?

It's true. Majority of the cases. Nigerian Female soldiers usually view flirting from an interested civilian as gross disrespect, even if they are the same age or the guy is even older. Sometimes they usually punish them.
