okay. to work out your salvation ,Doesn't it mean one can lose it ?
If one really, in the first instance, didnt have salvation, then of course, its just a matter of time before such one loses the pseudo salvation

malvisguy212:
Psalm 2:11 sums it up perfectly: “Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.” if fear, why rejoice ?
You have started again, erhn?. Was it not you who up there just admitted that fear is synonymous with respect, huh?. So, I respect, and happily do so with feeling and showing of great joy.

Now this is the good news
I won't be surprised if you avoid my reply. But here goes..

You think the latter is the best good news. You can have it better, you can also have someone after offering the latter, still offer to come help you manage the property in utmost integrity and remit all proceeds to your account. He could still offer to be responsible for the yearly maintenance of the building after giving it to you. He could do every other possible thing in addition for you and all you would have to do is sleep and wake up and always thank him.
The point is good news can be stretched along a spectrum and at any point in the spectrum will still be good news. The question then should be which one is obtainable. Using your analogy, i will tell you the one found in scripture. The good news in scripture is say you require the 50 storey building to pay off your debt and be saved from eternal prison sentence(hell) and you happen to be a now bankrupt wretch and pauper that begs for food on the road (your original human state). Then a good Samaritan (Lord Jesus) completely unrelated to you in anyway at all comes to meet you to tell you He just sold all he had in life (it is literally finished) to give you all and even more than the money(grace) you need to embark on the project and has transferred the money to your bank account (your spirit). He also has connections with a construction company(Holy Spirit)that will help you execute the project to whatever point you're willing (freewill) to fund it. You will then be a fool if you did not fund the project to completion because of the stress of typing your pin again and again to transfer money (spiritual exercises like prayer, fasting etc.) to the company at each phase of the project or because you became used to your wretched condition(sinfulness) and began to like it, you then leave the money dormant in your account. So like Paul said, Let us therefore labour(work diligently with the grace given) to enter the rest kept for the people of God. (Heb4:9-11) as he himself ...laboured more than they all...by the grace with him (1Cor 15:10).

Christians miss it. They always miss it. All the time. It is a peculiar blind spot that is quite interesting to watch from outside.

What exactly is the GOODNEWS that Jesus brought? That if you believe in him you will go to heaven? You mean the same heaven that Jesus Christ said is INSIDE of you?

Awwww...come on Christians, ASK QUESTIONS.

Question all that you believe. You will be shocked that what you believe is radically different from what is the truth.

Your pastors sell passage to heaven to you at the price of your seed sowing. The same heaven that is within you?
Not all miss it.

Imagine someone walks up to you and says he wants to give you a 50 storey skyscraper on Eko Atlantic City. He then says you will be the one to build it from scratch i.e dig the foundation, mix the cement bend the irons, mould the blocks and build it up to the 50th floor all by yourself without highering labourers. Will you consider that to be good news?

Now, imagine someone offers you the keys to an already completed skyscraper in Eko Atlantic and says all you have to do is believe it exists. is this good news?

The latter is the good news because you don't have to do any work before you get the promise. All you do is to believe, unlike the first which gives you a list of hard work to do, which you can never finish, before you can attain promise.

With heaven, you don't have to do any work other than just believe in Jesus. You don't have to ensure you do not sin before you can make heaven. All you need is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

But some people believe that works is required for salvation or to make heaven. Yes, works is required but what kind of work is that? Let's ask Jesus Christ

John 6:28-29
28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

What did Jesus also say in the most famous bie verse which is John 3:16?

John 3:16 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

What did the disciples of Jesus preach? Did they preach work based salvation or faith/believe salvation?

Acts 16:30-31 (KJV)
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house

As seen so far, the work God requires from us to do is to believe on his Son Jesus Christ. The disciples went further to state that work based salvation is false whereby you rely on your own works of righteousness. There is nothing like my works of righteousness plus faith as requirement for salvation. What salvation requires is believe/faith, not works of righteousness e.g not signing, doing good etc.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The disciples also added that even if you do not work at all but believe on Jesus, you are still seem as righteous before God.

Romans 4:5 (KJV)
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Why is God still considering you a righteous man and would allow you into heaven despite your many sins? That's because Jesus has taken your sins upon himself and has given you his righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

What did Jesus do exactly on the cross? His action on the cross made him the saviour of mankind. When you appear before a judge for horrible sins, he will definitely sentence you. Now, imagine someone shows up from nowhere and bails you out of the judgment. That's exactly what Jesus cries does with his blood. He bails those who believe in him from the consequence of sin when they die.

There is no eternal punishment for you if you believe in Jesus. You already have eternal life once you believe.

John 3:18 (KJV)
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God

Can you now see that it is easy to make heaven just as it is easy for you to drink water? Yes, it is easy as saying...

"Lord Jesus Christ, I believe in you as my Lord and Savior. Save me today and give me eternal life. I no longer rely on my works but your work on the cross".

You see how easy that was. Isn't it good news that heaven is easy to make and it is done once. There's nothing like losing your salvation.

Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

God who saved you today is not like an earthly bank that will lose what was saved. That's why he's a mighty God. He won't have sacrificed Jesus if he knew his blood won't be capable of keeping what it saved. The power on that blood can't be quantified. Those who believe they can lose their salvation don't really believe in Jesus. They are just paying lips service. They don't believe that Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever is capable of taking away their sins of yesterday, today and forever. They believe he only has power over their sins of yesterday, that's why they hold themselves responsible for the sons they commit henceforth. They've condemned themselves.

Can you now see how the good news is truly good news and pleasant to the ears? That's the good news Jesus said we should spread from Judea to the ends of the Earth.
So you are on the syd of once saved forever saved believers sermon?

OK, so you are good with analogies. I'll give you that.

But no. You missed it too.

There is just one fundamental good news that Jesus Christ came on earth to teach us.

We Christians say that Jesus is the Son of God. The Bible says that clearly.

Jesus's incarnation on earth and the summation of his whole earthly existence was to tell us one thing.

Are you ready for it?

*Drums rolling grin

We are Sons of God too.

In other words, we share in the divinity of God. We are gods. That is our nature. That is who we are. That is the summation of the Good News. That is the principal essence if the Good News. That is what we have been charged to tell everyone about.

That we are created IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD THE ABSOLUTE.

That we are gods.

Not figuratively. Literally and in the most explicit and implicit meanings of the word.

We are other Christs. We are like Jesus. He is our Brother. The first born of all CREATURES. We are His siblings. We share the same nature as him. All of us. Sons of God.

THAT, my brother, is the Good News. The Bible points to that. Our life experiences point to that.

Now, how many Christians can handle that truth?

How many human beings can handle that truth?

Your analogy is wrong.

Jesus doesn't give you what you need to attain eternal life. He simply gives you eternal life which doesn't require you to work to earn it. All you need is to have faith in him.

That's why I said your analogy of Jesus putting money in your bank account and requiring you to build a skyscraper with it is flawed. Jesus is simply giving you the keys to a completed skyscraper. All he's asking is for you to receive it by faith.

Bro, you're not far from the truth but here's the missing step in your message. He died essentially to grant us sonship, the inheritance we have in Christ, but while heaven is automatic based on his sacrifice, sonship comes through a process that will require all of the grace he gave us (which is why he gave us) to bring it to fruition. It is conditioned on whether we overcome the trials on earth through this grace properly harnessed. Hear it from Paul...if we endure with him... sons of God(Rom 8:17-19), (Heb 3:6,13-14, Heb 6:11-12). The whole book of Hebrews was written to encourage the believers endure to the end( depending on grace alone) in the face of persecution to share in the inheritance of sonship with Christ. Its up to you to choose between just heaven alone or having that with the reward of sonship

He gives you eternal life(which is all the salvation you need) in your spirit (automatically qualifying you for heaven) and you work the salvation out with fear and trembling to fulfill God's will for your life on earth. However, if you carelessly lose the gift in your spirit(through the sin unto death) you are eternally condemned. 1 Jn 5:16. Not all sin is unto death though but all sin can grow and eventually evolve into the sin unto death if not dealt with by grace

A believer can't lose his salvation nether can sin make him condemned. Stop spreading heresy.

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

I see your point. But compare that with the brazen unadulterated truth of the scriptures. We were created in the image and likeness of God. God didn't wait for Jesus to die on the cross before making us in His image and likeness.

Listen to Jesus Himself, he told us that greater works than he has done, we will do.

Don't forget that he healed the sick and raised the dead, even someone who had died for 3 days and He tells us we'll do greater works. Why? Because He knows we have exactly the same powers and privileges he enjoys as a Son of God.

He has told us, "...you will tell this mountain to move and plant itself in the sea and it will obey you..." Do you think he was exaggerating there?

Why can't we do this? Because contemporary Christianity has and keeps delivering to us an impotent and washed out religion.

Jesus has told us that we should not worry about what to eat or what to wear. Yet, the average Christian hustles from Monday to Saturday, chasing money and dreams. Then comes on Sunday with a battered soul and depressed spirit.

Sings emotional songs. Hear his priest or pastor preach a "feel good" sermon.

Feels emotionally charged and then repeats the whole process again and again.

Do you wonder why Nigeria has the highest number of churches in Africa and yet is allegedly the world's poverty capital? With terrorism and various crimes rampant?

Doesn't it occur to us that the religion we practice isn't creating new beings within us?

Jesus Christ died. Was it to get us to heaven? But he already said, the Kingdom of heaven is within you.

Why would GOD want the torture and crucifixion of a perfect being like Jesus Christ to appease HIM?

You responded to my unedited post, please look at the modified one. Now to your point, i already agree with you on the main aim of His death as sonship, but the process of achieving the main thing He died for in our own lives involves us going through a process, which is why you were left on the earth even though you had automatic access to heaven ever since you believed, i repeat. If you follow the Holy Spirit, He will lead you into that process. Read the whole book of 1Pet, James as well as Pauls writings i referenced earlier and even all throughout scripture, all were written to encourage believers to endure through the process to the end so they will receive the reward of sonship. The choice before every believer is still to accept the automatic access to heaven alone (which makes the rest of your time on earth a waste) or to go through the trials on earth, overcome by grace and receive the prize of sonship, in addition to that. All these things you said we ought to do, we will and even more when the manifestation of the sons of God happens (Rom 8:19) but remember the process mentioned before this (v17-18). We however will do lesser supernatural works unti that which is perfect comes. (1Cor 13:9-10) That's my addition to your point.

You're so in love with what you believe and I won't try to convince you. We can't know it all at once but we grow in knowledge as we develop our relationship with God. The use of life and death in the whole letter of John as well as Pauls use in Rom5 is spiritual life and spiritual death(damnation) . As In the preceding verse, 1Jn 5:12.. He that has the son has life... God bless you and increase you in His grace.

Do we believe in Jesus's words that there will be judgement on the last day, when the sheep will be separated from the goats? And what will be the basis of the judgement?
What you did or did not do, right?
It won't be based on whether you believed or not

MuttleyLaff:
Good News is doing work, by seating on a boat and allow the boat to do work, even as you navigate it.

An unsaved man tries to swim from one end of a river to the other end by his own strength, doesnt want God to be any part of the equation.

"28Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?”
29Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.
"
- John 6:28-29

One day, some people asked Jesus what work(s) does God want us to do. Jesus in an uncompromisingly forthright way, as in meaning, without mincing words told them, its simply the work of faith. Grace is God’s giving us something we cannot earn or deserve. We cant earn by ourselves what Jesus has done for all, we dont serve what Jesus did for us. It is all down to the grace and benevolence of God. Now salvation is work, even Philippians 2:12 confirms this comment when it said: "... work out your salvation with fear and trembling"

You dont receive a gift by working to deserve it, if you do it then becomes what is earned and no longer a gift. God's salvation is a gift that you receive by acknowledging what Jesus did on the cross and saying thank you. Because of what Jesus you have received, works you will count as good works. Things you do because of what Jesus has done for you are good works.

You are responsible for your life, why are you blaming leaders, choices you make now will make u land here or there, but its easy to choose life like God said. Jesus has already finished everything, choose him and live, just as John said if you dont choose Christ you are condemned already but if you choose him you have ( not will have) eternal life (relationship with God). So choose life choose Jesus you have nothing to lose but an eternity to gain.

The separation is towards rewards not towards salvation. Go and read the passage again

Pls let's be careful of the above write-up.
Romans 10:9-10 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

BELIEVING ON JESUS ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH! YOU MUST CONFESS YOUR SINS TO HIM. Many people have believed on Christ, yet they are not free from sin. Even many arm robbers believe in Jesus but that is not enough.
After you've believed on Him, you have to confess your sins and be ready to repent. Repentance, not just believing is what qualifies an individual for Heaven.
That's why the Bible says: John 3:3 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus believed on Jesus but he was told that except he his born again, he cannot enter Heaven.
How then do one become born again?
1. Acknowledge that you're a sinner and that you can't help yourself.
2. Believe in Jesus that He died for your sins and can save you.
3. Confess ALL your sins to Him.
4. Plead for forgiveness and grace to sin no more.
5. Ask Him to come in to you heart.
ALLELUIA!! You are born again!

I agree with you.

May the good lord save us from the hands of charlatans and fake prophets. And may he forgive you for this heresy and reveal his ways to you so you can see the light.

I feel sorry for you and those that take your satanic teaching to heart.

Sorry to dissapoint you sir but the road to salvation is very strait and narrow. Thats why very few are on that road. Its not all pomp and pageantry.

The bible said without holiness no eyes will see the lord.
In another passage it says be ye holy for the lord who also called you is holy.

Stop misleading people and sending them down the wrong way sir. I suspect you belong to one particular Christian organization I won't mention its name but I hope you people truly see the light because these thing they teach you people is not the gospel from God at all.

Pls tell God ,since u are close to him , that people of good hearts has all turned evil just because of the evilmen n women he loved so much , he shud kill all of Dem and see me turn a saint , see am even a Moslem to put food on my table ,
..

Dear, that man is not close to any god. What he is teaching is nothing but heresy. You on your can decide to serve God wherever you are. But the mistake we usually make is we want to serve God with condition. Eg, I will only serve God if he give me wealth. That is wrong. Can we just serve God for who he is? And watch him bless us?

The bible say seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness....and every other good thing will be added unto you.

It also says Delight your lself in the lord...and he will bring your heart desire to pass.

Look beyond your present condition and think of eternity for instance. Where will you go from here?

I pray may his grace find you dear sis. Amen.
