Well, some of these stories come for sailors imaginations. After they've been on sea for days, months, they begin to see things and misinterprete it. Kinda like how your jacket looks strange to you in low light late in the night. Yes, some of them are true but the majority has been debunked and tagged "sailors imaginations". Especially mermaids. I know "mammi wata" exists but not mermaids. He says "he saw one and it was ugly". He never saw any. He's probably read about them and science says they're probably ugly. Thing is, they're not physical. These are supposed to be spiritual so physics do not apply.

OP, I was with you until I read that post about mermaids lol.

The reason humans haven't been able to explore the ocean the way we have land is simply because we don't the instruments to do so. We haven't created equipment that can withstand the pressure of the ocean once you go deep enough. I'm sure it would interesting if we could.

Humans have invented and used machines (as far back as 1960) that withstand the pressure in the deepest part of the ocean.
