I cant stop thanking God for driving me into that decision at age 32. I would have probably still be waiting. Got into marriage with nothing. Now with 3kids and never knew a better yesterday. The beginning will surely look like a battle, but you will stabilize with time and will remain grateful to what/whoever compelled you afterward. This country is more f**ked than we really think. 7 Likes |

daddytime: Marriage comes with its blessings is what has landed many into troubles and some children turning into miscreants. That some got married on nothing and things eventually fell in place for them doesn't necessary suggest a cause and action. 2 Likes |

Impostor: Oga, what justification have you I repeat for the umpteenth time? You have not walked that path and can only insinuate since you even earn decently well enough. Try to put that into consideration so that you wouldn't be seen as someone who talks for the fun of it. 1 Like |

U1: Hmmm...….yet we want to end the poverty in the land, the child molestation we read about, the increasing number of miscreants etc. How do we intend achieving this if we encourage this lifestyle? 1 Like |

seanwilliam: You spoil everything when you say make we build house first except na shanty you want make we build. Person wey get better money need sabi invest am for short/medium term investment while the person dey hustle extra money. I no buy make people rush marriage but I don see people wey be say their salary put together sef ma no enter N50k and dem born pikin. Las las, the children dey become family responsibility and dat one sef na another wahala. I go one friend wedding na so the parents say make the eldest sister come siddon with dem because na she train am. I be like wait, no be her mama be dat, dem say d mama no spend on top am say na person wey spend suppose siddon. I just tire. I no ready make another person raise my pikin and for my case, no be money hold me but other things and na when I realize say I get power to overcome am naim I think of marriage. We still get our challenges but God dey help us surmount dem. Las las, for dis kind time, I no go tell you say make you go Jand for graduate studies but instead of Scandinavian, you fir consider Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or America because of ability to stay back after studies. 1 Like |

Dexlomo: It's not about encouraging a kind of lifestyle, but about making a point. Getting married doesn't necessarily mean starting to roll out the children immediately by the number. Besides, I am an advocate of about three kids being enough per family and that's even for "comfortable" families. But I don't think I completely understand your point about ending poverty in the land. You think that's possible in a country like this with many over-selfish people? Think again. Poverty still exists in the US! 2 Likes |

Dexlomo:you are right especially about the last part.. I bin think say getting admitted in all these Scandinavia countries dey easy pass Europe and America.. concerning that house stuff, well if i were the one i would try to build house first, then any other money after that would go into investment.. the house doesn't need to be built in Lekki na, na just normal portable nuclear fam apartment.. atleast that is an assurance incase things no turn out as expected for investment.. 1 Like |

U1: Poverty will always remain however, the proportion of those living below poverty is what the West strives to reduce. In our case, the number is rising. On the other hand, if you marry you no born, dem go start dey halla you again say wetin you dey wait. 1 Like |

Dexlomo: Let me just sign off on this matter with this: there's no security in this world. There's no guarantee that you will get all you will ever need before getting married. Also, there have been cases of people for whom things took a dive for the worse after marriage. They were comfortable and well to do before getting married. The key thing is being "responsible." Don't do more than your power can handle. Continue to be better and let God bless the rest. Children are a blessing, for example, but it makes no sense to have many IMHO. No security in this world, sire. The current coronavirus virus outbreak has already altered the financial situations of some and looks likely to do more in the coming - no one envisaged it. Only God takes care of us. Seeking His guidance is the most important thing. If he gives the go-ahead, just forget about other seeming impediments. 1 Like |

The black race has been using this mentality the OP stated to continue in recycling poverty into generations and it won't stop any time soon. Marriage should not be your utmost priority rather becoming a success in which ever endeavours you found yourselves. Does it matter if you give birth to your first child at 50yrs, as long as they have a successful future to welcome them into. When people marry without viable means of survival, they just continue to feed from hand to mouth and breeds children along the line then the poverty race continue in that generation. Or what else do you think brings about the majority of poor people living in a country called Nigeria. Have you asked yourself why poor people breeds like rats? While they continue to whalloh in poverty? Just try to get it right no matter the age then your next generation will continue to make exploit of what you have laid down by then they can marry even at 20 and still continue the success story. Chase success first and make sure u get it, then your children will take it from there, then they will be among the generation of wealthy people. Nobody will remember how poor you were then. Just like nobody remembered how poor dangote, otedola, adenuga, Ifeanyi Uba great grand parents were. 7 Likes 1 Share |

pcguru1: Quite contradictory. If it's not the black race but a Nigerian issue, why are the rest of the black race contributing to western societies and not fellow black societies? |
