but he is speaking the truth.
He is Ikwere and Ikwere is a tribe and ethnic group on its own.

Uche Okwukwu and other opportunistic Ikwerres are all part of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo because Ohanaeze is a useless organization that is obsolete and not in sync with modernity which exactly why the organization has no grassroot support in Igbo land.

Even as UK pulled out of EU, if the EU leaders are stupid enough to make an opportunistic English man claiming to be anti Brexit the Secretary general of EU with the pay package and power that comes with it,do you think such British will decline? The answer is No.
But does EU making an English man the Secretary general of EU change the fact that the British back home have no interest in being part of EU.

That Uche Okwukwu an Ikwerre man is even allowed to be part of Ohanaeze let alone rise to post of Secretary general is a testament to how useless Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is as an organization.
No Ikwerre or any one whose majority of his people are Igbophobic should be part of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo if the organization is a serious one.

So you IPOB should stop quoting this Uche Okwukwu, because you are only underlying the failure of Igbo leadership as epitomized by Ohanaeze when you use Uche Okwukwu as example of Ikwerre being Igbo.

Excuse me Sir..
Ohaeze or wtf their name is does not represent the Igbo race. I don't know who elected them to speak onbehalf of ndi Igbo.

Here in Igbo land, we don't recognize them, we don't even discuss about them.

They are mad men who does nothing but impersonate Igbo people to collect money from politicians.

The land grabbers, the culture/tribe grabbers. They have nothing to be proud of hence they keep grabbing others as theirs.
Well said... I am a Rivers man and their trouble is too much... We have other ethnic groups there but only them will claim Rivers State is Igbo land... Give them a chance, they will take chances... Always close mark them and put them where they belong if not they will dispose you of what belongs to you...

That means I can conveniently introduce myself as Mr. Chibuzor Chibuike the son of Mr Chukwuma Anyanwu but I am not Igbo but a Benin.

Hope I sound so good with such introduction

What a foolish set of people
But Amaechi said he is igbo, that means there are two types of Ikwerre

Even Esans don't deny Benin when you call them Benin by mistake.

When they feel like they are on top of the world, suddenly they aren't igbo. When their world comes crumbling down, they re-identify with their roots.

Look at Wike struggling to establish his identity. I warned him to be careful as I had been a fan of his; he wouldn't listen. Look at the unnecessary efforts he is making now and he has even acquired a more terrible voice. I now believe Amaechi who called him a bushman.

the longest dumbest post in 2020 Nairaland history.

Uk-EU relationship is a mater of geography and socio-political association, ikwere/Igbo issue is a matter of blood and ethnicity.

The question of whether they are Igbo or not is not about what they want to be identified with, it's a matter of their root and origin.

That UK says they are not interested in EU doesn't make them non-european.

How can your base mumuism not decipher the difference?

Why is people don't want to identify with igbo? Yoruba have people in kogi and Benue, these people always proudly identify with rest of Yorubas.

The Governor was asked by Dele MOMODU if he is igbo and he gave a blunt reply. "I am not" . He later went on to clarify the misunderstanding about his name and also the ikwere people link to igbo.

Wike, the saliva in your mouth are drying out as you try to rewrite history because you want the kingmakers of Nigeria to appoint you next president or VP of Nigeria.

Igbo and Yoruba and indeed lots of the ethnic groups in the south of Nigeria can be traced to one source at the long run.

Humanity originated from one source.

Wike, disgracing yourself in the public, talking incoherently like a thug won’t make you president or VP.
They are laughing at you. #ENDSARS mayhem took place all over Nigeria, not only in Oyigbo.

What’s the meaning of Nwike in ikwere language?

If someone says he doesn't want to associate with you, the most reasonable thing to do is to avoid him.

Relationship is not by force!

Ikwerre not being Igbo all depends on the Ikwerre you meet. An Ikwerre man and former Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, will tell the whole world that he is an Igbo man. Another Ikwerre Governor like Wike will say he is not Igbo

Meanwhile, an Ikwerre man called Uche Okwukwu is Ohanaeze Secretary general while another Ikwerre man called Elechi Amadi wrote a book to say Ikwerres are not Igbos

Its for Ikwerres to go and sort out whatever ethnic crisis that has engulfed them

And you somehow managed to strike out his middle name
Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi
