Food › Re: Eating Meat Last: Why Do Most Nigerians Do This? by Powersurge: 7:44pm On Sep 10, 2021 |
Hismasterpiece: Ever since I was a kid, I've always been used to eating the meat last, that is, after eating the rice, or swallow or whatever is served.
I noticed that my father, mother, brothers all follow this rule.
I have also noticed it in public events. When rice is served, people usually eat the rice first and the meat last. The same goes for swallow or anything that is served with meat.
My question is, why is that so?
Why is it that most Nigerians follow this unwritten rule? There is a joy in eating meat last. That is the better wisdom. Meat has distinctive taste and aroma. There some traditions that the best advancement in Technology and science cannot change. This stands on top of that list |
Family › Re: Advice Needed by Powersurge: 7:39pm On Sep 10, 2021 |
Zuchey91: I need matured inputs please.
I am a married woman, with a child.
My Marriage has been really rocky. Quarrels every now and then.
What basically causes the problems is our differences, we just don’t understand each other, it wasn’t so visible during dating.
Although we did not date for long....but being married, it has been from one issue to the other, right from a week after our wedding.
I have always contemplated leaving, but I am yet to be fully independent.
Sometime this year, I found out he has been cheating (I was not surprised, but I was heart-broken) my discovery strengthened my resolve to leave the union.
In the process of nursing my heartbreak, I reconnected with an ex, we got talking and he helped my heal. I did not tell him what I was going through at the time...I was just enjoying the attention he was showing me.
I should state that I did not tell my husband about his cheating, I held all the emotions back, it was a very difficult period for me because I am usually the outspoken type.
My ex is not based in the country where me and my husband reside, we just communicate on phone, he says he misses me and would want us to meet when he is in town.
I should also state that my ex was married but divorced. I would not deny my having feelings for my ex, and I also do not want to believe in a fairytale ending, I am just confused. 1. Have you contemplated where this your encounter with your ex could end? Let help: a) you guys meet and have sex and everything goes back to statosquo. b. You meet, have sex, he develops feelings, you leave your hubby and y'all get married. c. You refused to have intercourse, y'all just flow as frds and everybody return to statosquo 2. Have you ever contemplated talking with your hubby about the whole thing? Giving it one last opportunity to change for the better? Do you want to even continue with him at all? 3. If you leave and you and your ex don't work, are you ready to face the challenge that single mothers face (upkeep and remarrying or finding true love again, societal stigma etc.) This list is as far as you can imagine. Sit down, provide honest answers to these questions and others in your mind, then make a decision. May God help you to make the right choice. |

We are a country without plan. You want to increase admission by 16%. Have you increased the schools' capacity by 16%? In the end, all you will get will be adulterated graduates. |

Just like the Niger Delta oil (which unfortunately the yeye activities are collecting billions to keep mom over), it is the height of injustice to use others' sweat to fund your state.
Hisbah has destroyed businesses worth billions, stifling businesses ranging from alcohol, clothing, hair to music. Yet VAT from these industries are shared to these hypocrites.
The free monies that these crooks are getting has added greatly to corruption. Daft people in office going to Abuja for free money every month. |

VAT is one of the major injustice in this country. Your people are not paying tax, yet you are sharing from others paying. It is haram in your religion to drink alcohol (of course all their elites have alcohol in their houses), yet you are collecting the money from haram.
Lagos clamored for 1% of the VAT of which she generates over 70%, they rejected it-parasitic relationship. FG has no business collecting VAT.
PS: almost all the northern governors are kicking. |

tgmservice: Hi Nairalanders There is this girl I meet in my church very beautiful and well-behaved.
We got to know each other better and developed a likeness for each other and along the line.
As our feeling where growing, she told me an ugly truth about her self how she used to date a Yahoo boy back in school.
She said the yahoo boy gave her all the luxury she needed in life, including the latest gadgets and fashion wears.
She was one of the big girls on campus but deep down the yahoo guy did not have any regard for her as he only used her as a sex tool. She said sometimes before he sleeps with he robs some strange ointment on his penis and she felt it was fetish.
She also told me that her boyfriend and his yahoo friends usually have group sex with her, it began to impact on her life and physical health negatively that she finally had to take the bold step and leave the relationship and even dropped out from school.
Though now she is doing well and self-employed as she is into hair business.
She said she told me this not to hide anything from me and she really likes me, I really like the girl and thinking of marrying her. But after revealing her life story is it advisable I still go ahead with the relation? Most people have ugly past. Even the pastor of dt church wey una dey go fit hv. Na who tell u u know. If y'all go well together, ring her finger. Dt she even told u, means a lot. |

Politics › Re: Fact Check: Is The Budget For US Federal Prisons Bigger Than Nigerian Budget by Powersurge: 5:19pm On Sep 03, 2021*. Modified: 5:48pm On Sep 03, 2021 |
I am a data analyst. Hence, I don't respond to emotions. Nigeria...fvck it!
The average cost of feeding an inmate in USA is around $8.6. The minimum wage in USA (as at the last time I checked) was $11-this is daily.
Thus, the govt spends over 78% of her minimum wage on inmates feeding. If we bring other costs into this mix, the value could be as high as $25 to take care of inmates daily.
Conversely, Nigeria spends N450 on inmates feeding daily (on paper). This is 1.5% or 0.005 times the minimum wage.
Bringing it home, the US govt spends $258 or N136, 740 on an inmate monthly. The total Nigeria budget in 2020 is less than N11Tr. If will push it up to 11 trillion, each Nigerian would get N54,140 or $100.26 per year. This is NOT UP TO HALF of what is used to feed a prisoner per month in USA. Yet this is what is available to us per year. |

I have realized that when something bad happens in US, everybody "go lock up". As if people in America don't feel pain. Don't deserve help or aid. Everybody just assumes "it's America, they can handle it".
