Laying you off was wrong.

They've probably been looking for an excuse to do that.

This is why I talk about the glaring absence of enforceable Labor Laws to protect workers in public and private sectors of this nation.

No employer will try such nonsense abroad...!

Nigeria is such a lawless country!
Thank God you mentioned public sector. I was thinking you were going to exempt the sector.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: My Experience At Work Today by ppogba: 11:26am On Jan 10, 2024
Ordinary Kurekure Micro finance sacked someone for calling office for being sick.

And one idiot was here a few days ago telling us UBA staff are complaining about Elumelu.

UBA is d worst bank I ever encountered, ordinary urgent loan to help d masses dem no fit but Opay and Kuda can do dt for there customers
Eeyah!
Sorry about the situation.
But, granting of loans or credit facility comes with some conditions.
Were you able to meet the criteria?
Did you approach the bank in the first instance?
What was the response of the bank to your request?

Remember, the loan you want to collect is some people's money.

Forget their 9M result, the severity of the losses of the last 3 months due to exchange losses is enough to significantly wipe off any gains from the first 3 quarters of the year!
I will not forget the 9M result because it addressed significantly the forex issues you are hammering on.

Get conversant with happenings in the banking sector before cherry-picking a figment to base your argument on.

You may do well to check on any of the FUGAZ too.

Mr Man, take your frustrations elsewhere.
Why are you now crying more than the bereaved?

It should have been a complement if I had assumed you work at UBA.

Whether to me or Elumelu, all I am saying is, take a walk if you are tired of the job.

Wailing and crying on nairaland where Mr Elumelu can never notice you is SENSELESS.

For every situation in life, there is always an option. The staff complaining have the option of resigning.

Hundreds of thousands will love to have their job.

Perhaps, their experience will be appreciated at Opay and Kuda

Imagine boasting that one of the biggest banks in a country with 200 million people has $1b in market cap. To put that into perspective, the city of Detroit, with a population of about 650,000, is considered the poorest city in the United States. Their annual budget expenditure is about $2.5b.

Africa's poverty should be a crime against humanity.
Weep not, child.

UBA saved itself from insolvency the day the engaged Elumelu Tony as its Chair.

Inputs of core leader matters.

When Tayo Aderinoku was alive, GT Bank developed like a magic.
Maybe you needed to be informed that he took over from a certain Hakeem Bello+ Osagie.

I hope they're not cooking the books by artificially inflating their profits because I know that 2023 was generally a very bad year for most business organisation in Nigeria because of the recent devaluation of the Naira and this should also affect UBA because I'm very sure the also have some exposure to loans in foreign currency undecided
Check their 9M result for Year 2023 and educate yourself further. It is always good to want to sound knowledgeable.

Just like Buhari did with Dasuki then cool..

Emefiele messed up big time because it really affected BAT's finance winning strategy during the presidential election. BAT and his goons had to quickly redefine another means in rigging the election; an option B strategy that came at a cost (it was too obvious and weak for the masses to see through easily, how the election was rigged) cool...
If only you had benefited from the sleaze,.your support for Emefiele and disdain for Tinubu would have been more justified. Perhaps, you will not be wailing in support of what is totally bad on Nairaland.

Try and change this new year.

And being the second highest goalscorer in a UEFA competition, getting to the final of that competition and being the highest goalscorer in your club is not remarkable, then remarkable has gotten a new meaning.

U

REMARKABLE: Worthy of being remarked or noticed; noticeable, conspicuous.

If Playing top flight football in the German league for YEARS, playing for years in the national team of Nigeria is not remarkable then I do not owe anybody who takes joy in denigrating the achievements of others with a stupid, I'll informed comment on a faceless forum an explanation.

Learn not to bamboozle others with your limited knowledge.

If I understand what you wrote correctly ... you were given a stipend of N20K which was increased to N30K after two years. How much has the stipend increased for Corps over two years? Stipend is not the same as salary ... but in your write up they are the same. Your employer is sponsoring your education ... do you know how much it cost? Would you have afforded to sponsor yourself? Aren't you still being sponsored? If you quit ... are they still going to continue sponsoring you? Do you think your new employer will pick up your sponsorship? Would you be able to finance your education? Millions are dreaming of finding a sponsor ... you have one ... who is also giving you pocket money ... but that's not good enough for you. My advice... go out and hustle .... selling pure water or whatever.... is it a must to be an employee? Quit and your eyes will clear .... maybe only then you will see how fortunate you are in your present employment ... and how short sighted you are in making decisions.
One Jerry can of anointing oil for your head.
