Someone on a 30k job being run concurrently with a course in a university is here lamenting and A GOOD Samaritan is advising him to be attending conferences.
Attend conferences with which money?
Are conferences cheap?

It can only be on Nairaland.

Lesson: If the gods butter your bread, make you no call your friend lazy man.

Oga reason with sense.

Money is given by people. The church is made of people like you. The church in UK your OP talked about is made up of Nigerians like you and him, who gave the money. Do not be myopic like him. People gave in the church and the money was given to those who needed it to help them enjoy their Christmas.

If your church did not do the same, then there must be similar people like you who do not give, but only expect to receive. That must you congregate with stingy people like you.

Na so e be.
Well said.
People do not know that whatever is given by a church are contribution by some members.
Question is, what are they even doing to belong in the category of the givers and not parasites?

I am beginning to think there is something that brings out the stupidity in people the moment they step out of Nigeria.
So, to this fool now, Nigerian churches do not do anything for their member.

Fubara is the most clueless person in Rivers state...man is too dull to even be a Youth leader..let alone governor😏
He's a simpleton.. he's weak, an ingrate, a jigaboo.
One minute, u are saying we won to a congregation...next minute u are saying at the state banquet that it's necessary to have compromised.... Omo.
Make person advise Sim..... bcus the way he's going....well only time will tell.
As Bwala said, If u like him...pray for him..
.

Ofcus...wike fought many big wigs in the state prior to pdp state primaries... Lee meba, Austin okpara and a whole lot of them who wanted to contest..but wike singlehandedly picked sim as the simp that he is...! The truth is...it's too early for a Sim to fight wike...man has been a civil servant his whole life ..and you want to engage in a political fight wit a seasoned politician at his zenith??
No Now. That was a wrong move.
I will give you the credit for being the most sensible comment thus far on the crises. A civil servant all his life......

Same was Ambode too but ignoramuses thought he had a fight in him.

It is the mumuness in Fubara that made Wike to choose him.

There are astute politicians in the state that Wike would never choose.

Move to the new job. This is a 70%+ pay raise which you will not get at your current place.

Even if the startup company folds after 1 year, you can always beg the other one to take you back.

Be a man and make some extra money. 2024 is going to be tougher than what we have seen
You can always beg the other one to take you back is " fallacy of wrong assumption"

Eriokanmi:
Let me ask you this OP. After finishing your programme, what do you plan to do with your certificate? I ask this because there's no such automatic job anymore. I have a friend by the name ngozi who relocated to the UK for her master's degree in 2016. She looked for jobs in the UK as a lawyer but nothing came her way. As a fashionista that she was, she decided to set up a website where she was posting clothing and designs for people to make orders. She doesn't know how to sew clothes. Enquiries started flowing in from UK, US, Germany, Canada, etc as Nigerians in the diaspora were busy sharing her contacts.

She had one tailor at surulere before she left. She'd take measurements from interested customers and their designs and send back home to her tailor to sew. Once clothes are ready, her brother will collect them and dispatch directly to customers overseas. The business recorded huge growth and she added another tailor in Nigeria. These 2 tailors are always fully booked from January to December. They don't do anything else. They're fully committed to ngozi's jobs.
The last time we spoke, she said she makes 2,700 pounds monthly as profit. She only occupies a small room in the UK, no staff, she pays no tax, no office. Which law firm would pay her that?

No job my guy. Stay on that fed govt job and add some side business and grow it. You'd fall back on it after retirement. Don't forget that government work is less tedious. You have your time to do whatever you want. Forget all those tiktok videos those in the diaspora are sharing oo. Many I'd them would run back home if they were offered a Fed Govt job.
When people ask for a nice Nigerian, I will point in your direction.

Why you dey tell blind person say rain dey fall?

A dreamer wants to his his federal job and you are here preaching for him like Baba Adeboye.

You are the moralist that thinks she has embarrassed her family. With all due respect to the tribe she comes from, the mentality there is, whichever position you find yourself, the money you steal belongs to the government and no one else. Just steal your own and move on

What are you saying? New York City with population of 8.5m has 3 major airports and other minion ones compared to Lagos of over 20m population.
Thank God you mentioned NYC as your example.

It's not the population that determines the provision of airports for a location. Rather, the flow of business activities, the prosperity of the inhabitants. MMA which is the foremost airport in Naija does not process as much air traffic as the airport in Jo'burg which does not have thee quarter of Lagos population.

What matters is the size and facilities to process as many flights as possible.

It was supported because people saw the template of what was needed to be done

Why did you stop demolishing private properties and you claimed that you want property owners to set back their buildings?
