Its an absurd argument. It suggests that even if one candidate wins all the states 99 per cent and doesn't get the FCT 25 per cent then he doesn't win. That's not the correct reading. The provision which says 36 states and the FCT should be read conjunctively and not disjunctively.

He won SE and SS hands down, he won NC, he won Lagos with about 1million votes, he won Abuja, he won Plateau with about 1.8 million votes, he won in many areas of Bauchi and other northern states. Most of his northern votes were completely robbed.

If APC knew they have done so well, why didnt they allow a free and fair election so Nigerians can vote them

The election is questionable indeed. Not that I care but I find it hard to believe that APC won in Zamfara and got that many votes in Katsina. It's either the reports about banditry that we have been hearing in those areas were all PDP lies or the results were tampered with.

I'm not questioning the turnouts, Im questioning how APC got so many votesin those ravaged states. I did expect an APC victory but I don't understand how they are okay with their present situation. Also, those who think I'm a pained Obedient can go through my previous comments on Nairaland if they have the patience. I did not vote for any candidate and even now, I don't believe in any of them.

As for Obi, he is a winner too, he fought hard and won hard. He achieved the impossible
Atiku, the unrelenting fighter, he is a winner too

Without this people, there won’t have been democracy. They gave Tinubu a run for his money, they chased him till the last line. They made the game more competitive and interesting and we will miss the whole saga.

Politicians have Their Strongholds!

PETER OBI was never to win in Sokoto, Kano, Kebbi and core North states.
Same Way Tinubu should NOT be winning a State like Rivers.

Peter Obi won in States where everyone knew he will win While Tinubu/APC rigged in other Pple's Strongholds!

By virtue of the provisions of section 299 of the Constitution, it is so clear that Abuja, the Federal Capital of Nigeria, has the status of a State. (It is (as if) it is one of the States of the Federation). (Pp. 36-37, paras. E-A)

This simple means the FCT will be recognized (as if) it’s a state in Nigeria so that the Nigeria constitution will govern it.

But in the case of Electoral Act that has been quoted all evening up till now… it’s says 25% in 2/3 of the Nigeria states (and) 25% in the FCT because it doesn’t recognize the FCT (as if) it’s a state but rather as a capital territory.

I hope this is explanatory enough, I stand to be corrected as I’m open to thoughts so I get to know better.
