As an able Igbo son, if I were in Nigeria, I won't come out to protest. I have yet to see nigerians line up to protest when Hausa barbarians kill my people in the north, shouting alahi Akbar. This happens year in year out and people don't protest. Not on nta no protest time and again. That is the most important issue for me today. Anytime Nigerians are ready to protest that, I will know that Nigeria is serious.

As for the subsidy, Let them remove it. If the country would burn, let it burn. But Nigeria can't continue the way it is today. This is the 21st century, either we develop, or we self destruct. Ghana is rising, Botswana, Tanzania etc. we take things for granted. Niger republic has built a refinery, we don't have a viable university, even soccer is no more. you guys are busy fighting yourselves here. last time i went to ohio, come and see successful igbos and yorubas working together and helping each other to progress. there are many igbos in the dayton area of ohio, few northerners and some yorubas too, they formed a union and elected a yoruba to lead them, re-elected him year after year unopposed, last year the guy refused to be reelected and the nigerians went and chose another yoruba man to lead them.

Here's my observation. There are many southerners and igbos who are living in denial and refusing to acknowledge that boko haram is out to kill igbos and other Christians up north.

Many m.uslims up north are secretly happy with the way stiff is going.

It's not possible for boko haram to do what they've been doing without the local population knowing who these people are. But they all keep quiet.

Next year will be worse. Bc we have a weak president, and boko haram knows it. I think they will strike until all igbos run away from the north. With nobody to strike they will come down south to strike. Then bubble will burst.

Just for the records, statement from a spokesman and that of the oga himself are no the same. As mike says, symbolism matters here. It shows what you take serious and what is not so important to you. If it was a campaign speech during an election, I don't think a spokesman will represent a serious candidate during a campaign or debate.

However, my problem is not whether it's a spokesman or whether it's PDP or GEJ. Today we can confirm what many people have loved to deny. That boko haram is just another Islamic fascism movement trying to kill xtians in the north.

I won't say more than this but let me add that all those (especially) southerners that keep blaming govt, this is not about the bad govt we have( and yea we have a bad govt) but its an Islamic movt to undermine the election of a xtian president. One day, after about 100,000 xtians and southerners in the north have been killed, perhaps some of those southern xtians who still doubt it may start asking better questions.

Today, both the middle belt and the ijaws have realized that the igbos are not the problem. They know who their problems are. But there is a realignment going on.
