Tayo-D:
I'm not sure your assertion is correct. If anything at all, the overthrown president was attempting an unconstitutionality. So while he was overthrown unconstitutionally, he too would have been guilty of hanging on to power the same way. The courts and congress had ruled his actions unconstituional but he persisted.

It appears the only way sanity can be brought back was the coup detat. It's funny how the guy is crying constitution now. The same constitution he so flagrantly disregarded. While I am not in favour of a coup, I can't see myself supporting any of the parties.

Does anyone find the outburst by the clown called Chavez funny at all? This is the guy who cries that America interferes to no end in other countries' affairs. Hypocrisy seems to be the common thread that binds all Leftists together in solidarity!
i was reading your posts and nodding in agreement. just when i was about to say is this tayo that i'm agreeing with like this . . . GBAMMMM . . . .you did it grin . . why did you have to add the last statement to spoil every thing u said. hypocrisy has no skin color, it has no gender, religion , sexual or political orientation.

the most recent example of hypocrisy in high places have been gov sanford (republican) who spoke against clinton and gingrich and bob livingstone when they had marriage issues. only to start his own

also we had senator ensign (republican) who voted against priapic bill clinton, only to be sleeping with the wife of another man . . . . . hypocrisy . . . tayo hypocrisy . . . . has . . . no  . . . political party wink

this was no error. false news never makes such ''errors''. they know what they were doing and they did it to decieve a population they always decieve. soon people will start debating if he was really a republican and in the confusion, a re-branding occurs.

anyway, na dem sabi.

a) he has lost his presidential ambition
b) he may loose his job as gov
c) he may loose his marriage
d)he may loose the real love of his life (a.k.a argentina)
e)his wife beat him
f) other reasons(explain)

i have noticed that you are the one using demeaning statements to refer to another poster, but i want to focus on our argument so no one accuses me of attacking you grin grin

facts dont lie, but note that i said the US is among the worst in the developed world. just to get the records straight.
i do believe that the fact that many people are uninsured contributes to poor health care. this is because there are reduced chances of seeking health care in that population compared to the insured population and this reflects in the over all health status of the country. i'm not sure emergency cesarean section costs $65. or kidney transplant or a visit to the cardiologists. i don think the average cost of medication is $65. correct me if i'm wrong b/c i dont live in the US.

children in your city have free health care and you say it has not helped them? have you tried withdrawing that free health care for 20 yrs, then we collect the data from health records and see if there is a difference between a population of children with free health and those of children without free health care.
think my friend, think pls. try the poor countries where children have no free acess to health care and compare the health status of children in your city with those in a city where children are not covered. na wa for some people o.

i dont know the details of the congress health care bill. so i wont comment on it yet

Foreign AffairsRe: Obama, The African Colonial by preselect(m): 6:39pm On Jun 29, 2009
the US healthcare is among the worst of the developed nations. america can do better. it has the wherewithal to do so.

now i'm trying to remember where in the last post i blamed bush for my disappointments in the current administration. i said bush took the country too far 'right'. i wish obama will take it too far 'left'. he doesnt seem to be doing that. he seems to be trying his best to please everybody. you cant please everybody. it can never happen. that is my problem with him.

people may have expected obama to perform miracles, but not me. i expect him to do some simple things like withdrawing troops from iraq, re-starting middle-east peace talks, prosecuting those who tortured in the US, doing something about the economy (i'm not an economists but i want to believe the stimulus was necessary b/c of the array of economists that supported it. i know a little bit of history, the great depression did not end in one year) whatever he does, i know john McCain only wanted to continue doing what bush did, which was a disaster. and old john's economic adviser supported stimulating the economy too.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama, The African Colonial by preselect(m): 6:30pm On Jun 29, 2009
if you want to understand healthcare, find out about determinats of health status in a society. it is not wether one person can afford healthcare but why about estimated 40 million people are without healthcare. this is what your defeated candidate hillary wanted to correct. as well as Obama. they both knew the US was lagging behind in healthcare. pls dont even go there.

the US has higher maternal mortality than UK/Canada
the US has lower life expectancy the ''UK/Canada
the US has higher Infant Mortality than UK/Canada
the US has higher Under5Mortality/ higherneanatal mortality/higher infant mortality rates than the british and canadians

these factors are the determinants of the health status of a society and not wether you can have a dental clean up as and when due. this is the issue. it's not about kobokunkie and me, it is about the population generally speaking. there are people in nigeria who can afford anything money can buy, does that make nigeria a richer nation than the UK?

Kobojunkie:
ummm . . . . If you are blind, may I ask that you open your eye? Foreign section has actually been pretty dry after the elections. Plus, I prefer Nigerian issues hence my coming to nairaland. For foreign politics, I frequent other forums where I know the folks I am talking to are more informed and less apt to resorting to ATTACKING those who do not share their views. It kind of helps dilute things.
you could have made your point without the highlighted statement. perhaps i may not be the only one who needs some training on politeness. anyway, the foreign section may be dry after the elections in your opinion, but that is what it is. . in your opinion. others dont think so. we still come here, we have debates. tayo keeps us busy.

and there are attacks and name calling in every section of niaraland. not only foreign section. it's even worse in nigerian politics section where you see occasional tribal bitterness. so find another excuse. this one no dey work.

Kobojunkie:

uhm, mr kobo, let me start by stating here now that i never tried to villify you. i was just catching fun, and enjoying the victory. period. i was happy and i expressed it. i dont take anything on nairaland by heart. it's not personal. i was making fun of you, doesnt mean i hate u or i villify you. no, may be i used some words i may regret but it was just for fun. trust me. fun. how much did the democrat party pay me, for me to personally loath someone i have never met. mba o, no be me. ask tayo, i have had to apologise to tayo time and again each time he brings out inappropriate words that i have used on him. i honestly though i was having fun as well as sound argument which is what i do on nairaland. . air my views, have a little fun. occasionally i mispost and apologise for them. so i never see u as evil, i dont even know u, just a poster called kobojunkie, how can i reallly call u evil.

if i ever made u feel real bad . . . . i am sorry . . . . awfully sorry.

dangote and the indians are not the cause, they are the manifestation of the problem. the root cause of the problem is that we have a govt that does not care about it's people

Kobojunkie:
ROFLMAO!!!! No need to give up on him yet. I mean he has only been in office about 5 months. I think it is still too early to judge him. But I have to say I am glad you are finally dropping off that "OBAMA HIGH" that seems to have a hold on so many on here still. I remember only a couple of months ago, I WAS THE EVIL ONE for not seeing the man through the same rose glasses you had one back then.

Welcome back to REALITY!! grin Welcome Back down to the REAL WORLD, BEYOND the OBAMA CRAZE!!
welcome back to foreign affairs, my good old friend mr kobojunkie. i do sincerely hope you'll be visiting this section more regularly. wink

nobody called you evil because u opposed obama. you have never opposed obama half as much as my friend tayo d has, yet i still hold tayo in high regards. and u can ask tayo himself what i think of him.

i have never expected obama to be wonderful, i never expected magic. i dont think people expected him to overcome the problems at hand asap (may be except the teenage americans who fantasised him a lot). i know there's something called reality after the hype.

however, we expected a change in tone, direction, method and presentation of the united states. and he delivered. my disappointment with obama is in how he handled the torture issue, dont-ask-dont-tell issue(he promised to end it but why is he delaying), caving in to republican pressure during the iranian crisis, transparency (better than bush but not as good as he promised) etc. i'm also disappointed that he is trying to govern from the ''center''. instead of going to the ''left''. this is b/c mr bush pulled the US to the far right, so if anyone wants to address that, he should pull the country to the left.

the US economy will take a while to rebound. healthcare reforms will be hard and even if it is passed in congress it will come out with so much distortion from republicans that it will not be recognised. despite what the republican spin masters may say, the US has the worst health care among the developed countries including the UK and Canada which the republicans often use to ridicule the democratic party's plan. but the ignorant believe them.

so obama is trying, he may not achieve much, but he will surely set a new direction. that is a good start.

finally, the worst democratic president is far better than anything the republicans can offer as far as 2008/2009 recession is concerned. any democratic president is better for america except hillary grin

obama is 5 months in office. he aint doing badly though.
