finally south-africa goes the way of the rest of the continent. another evidence of the black man's inability to build a nation |
JustGood: RichyBlacK:actually i dont think most republicans believe this, but if Obama is against torture, then the republicans will have to defend torture. Just to oppose the president . . . . .afterall, the republican party is the party of god ![]() |
try google, wikipedia, etc start from there |
i read what some of my friends write here and it breaks my heart that we have lost the ability to empathise. that soft spot that makes us human. i read about iragi children who go to refuse dumps looking for what they can rescue for food or sales knowing fully well that there are likely some IEDs there that may end their lives. i saw many families who when their child is ill will take the child to one chemist after another and from one fake nurse to another and finally to church even when a hospital is nearby. . . . no money for hospital fees. . . . . and of course the child usually dies. i saw a man who could not pay I00 naira for a simple blood test, to commence treatment of his child whose illness will not cost anything less than 50,000 naira . i saw a girl, very intelligent geology student sell her body to idiots to get money not even for her school fees but to help out with her family. my loving parents sent me out as a young child to go out and hussle for kerosene with older boys during one of those artificial scarcities created by corruption, in such struggles, in those days, little kids could be harmed, there are usually fights at the gas stations and some vagabonds smoking nearby. . . yet i was sent to do this for my family who had nothing else to do to survive. . . mumsie was very ill and dad was transfered by his company to a far away city. people are suffering immensely. we are lucky. many aren't. yea, some people are stupid, but most are just victims. . . . it is sad . . . . . |

sorry mr tayo, u are the one who needs to think, tell me, torture should be judged based on weather it was done for fun or for a ''good reason'' , are u serious? is this a joke? even after admitting that sometimes some innocent person may have been tortured? what is the definition of a terrorist state? why wouldn't the UK accuse the US of being a rogue nation for arresting british nationals in the middle east and sending them to gitmo, torturing them and releasing them? if it was done by abacha it will be on CNN. torture is wrong, dont matter if it was done by Idi Amin or by Bush. this is simple. soon you'll tell me they were following orders? abi . . .? for the usefulness of the torture in khalid's case, i'll get back to you when i lay my hands on the evidence again. i got that information somewhere. . . i'll get back to you on that |

the only important job tayo is doing here is to keep this section of nairaland active ![]() his arguments are so unbelievable that sometimes i wonder if he means them or if seun paid him to keep it up for the good of the website and to his credit, anyday he doesnt come here, this section is dry ![]() otherwise, best answer to his arguments is . . . . .obama rules, . . do your worst or better still . . .go and hang ![]() |
start somewhere kobo. . .anywhere at all ![]() but i think he should be more focused an the federal govt which he is serving. that way most people will not be interested in leaving the country. |
![]() $osisi: ebelebe igba . . ike ga agwu ndi asiriosisi, this is a result of ignorance. ignorance is the #I concomittant of poverty. crude ignorance, but the bad thing is poverty has a way of building a vicious cycle, now those 6 kids are born in abject poverty(not their fault) they grow(if child mortality allows them to grow) the parents send them out in the streets to hawk(to get some cash) the girls get early exposure------>sex/pregnancy/disease/etc . . . the boys------->gangsters, political thugs etc . . . . more premarital sex-------->more unplanned pregnacies . . . another generation of poverty stricken household in the making . .etc yes, some people fall into poverty by mere stupidity, but most are victims of circumstances. e.g, this ur cousin's case, let me assume her parents gave her all she could have, and let me also assume the efulefu boy had great parents too who gave him a chance at life, and both lost their chances . . . we now have a family of 8, 2 of them(the parents) were stupid but 6(the kids) are a product of circumstances this proves me right that most people in poverty are just victims of their circumstances. try escaping poverty in this day and age of recession. |

i dont think some people here have seen real poverty b4. imagine some people try to use canoe to cross the ocean to enter europe. a man was rescued and sent back to senegal and when bbc asked him if he'll try to enter europe again, he said yes, and he was asked. . .aint u afraid of the high seas, he replied. . ''i am more scared of looking at my hungry children'' excruciating poverty. try it for a hobby |

i think he should have prosecuted them somehow. bush prosecuted the perpetrators of abu graib, which was the right thing to do. i dont know why obama chose to leave those in this case . . . . .talk of justice. . . american way ![]() |
Tayo-D:and were u aware that the most important information got from that khalid guy was got before the torture even started? the best way to get information about an enemy is to get it from his family. if the west is at war with extreme islamic elements, then the west may depend heavily on moderate muslims? abu graib sky rocketed the violence in irag against the US forces where as the sunni awakening(alliance with the US forces to defeat al gaeda) help restore some level of peace. think again tayo. this is not a democrat/republican/liberal/conservative issue. this is a sensitive issue important for security. in this day and age, common sense is prevailing and o/p just a word of advice. . . .tell the gop that using karl rove and chenney to attack obama is senseless (it's just a gift to the democrats, like chenney endorsing old john last fall ). . .they can try minnesota gov or lousiana gov. or palin ![]() |
@blackstar if poverty is a choice, no one will be poor. no one. in the western world, people cant stand poverty, they do all sorts of things to avoid poverty. . . .the western world has the highest rate of suicide and broken homes than the rest of the world. may be ending their lives is part of the false choice you talk about. poverty is not a choice. tell me, whose choice? whose choice was it that millions of afghan children are wretched? whose choice was it that children die daily in sudan? whose choice was it that diseases wipe out millions in africa every year. Whose choice was it that millions of children cant go to school. whose choice was it that africa has millions of educated lay abouts roaming around looking for an opportunity that their western couterparts take for granted. why is it that the western world is more sexually liberal( including unprotected sex) and yet africa has more AIDS? poverty is not a choice, it is a disease. |

tayo have you considered the fact that some of those detainees might be innocent? some british citizens were arrested in afghanistan and sent to gitmo, they were later found to be innocent, returned to britain and now the islamic extremists are using that as a useful weapon in their extremist propaganda and it is working. always try to see both sides. torturing does not keep america safe. it hurts the country and does no good. the US can be protected without it. all it takes is to maintain strong security. period. |
perhaps we should do a research on this. |

akinlabi, extreme poverty can blunt common sense. extreme poverty can convert a virgin to a prostitute. it can convert a graduate to a tout. converts a doctor to a foreign toilet cleaner. converts a pastor to a thief, it can break families and damage marriages i tell you this b/c i have seen extreme poverty in nigeria. i saw it first hand. it is easy to say common sense should prevail, but believe me, there has to be an inner strenght to do so. i was lucky and determined, but i refuse to see my achievement as due to hadwork alone, i believe my God played a huge role in my progress, but i also refuse to disparage those less fortunate. poverty is no joke. the problem with nigerians is that they take their rage to wrong directions/actions. but what i feel for them is pity. sad pity. |

last time they attempted to secede, abraham lincoln gave it to them straight. those guys provided the worst president in recent history and they want to go now after their adopted son destroyed the union. no way, they must remain and their oil money will be used to repair the damage done by their boy. as for the tea bag protesters-cum-bitter-sore-loosers, they can do their demonstration everyday for the next 3yrs, who cares, a black nyash sits behind the desk in the oval office.for the next 3yrs . . fact remains that the majority of american people (of all races) are behind president hussein . . and they like what he is doing.tayo d can be color blind as much as he wants to, (it is doubtful if color vision is the only deficit he has) , but denial or delusion cannot change reality. ![]() bitter loosers ![]() |
another sad tale involving nigeria. while this is not enough to condemn a whole nation(this particular nation has already been condemned by other factors), it goes to show how evil human beings can be. and when these evil people are from a lawless nation, u bet, there will be no restriction in evil. |
davidylan:i think tayo d should go to these tea parties and give it a multi-racial appearance ![]() but honestly, i feel for these guys, they cant stomach a black man in the white house. i have noticed that people like toshmann and kobojunkie have banned themselves from the foreign affairs section, if these two confused nigerians feel this way(as i assume) then imagine what these white people feel, especially as some of them have their fathers/granfathers fighting in civil war or WWII for america only for one ''yeye kenyan'' to come and rule them. i feel for them. i really do. as for the delusional ones who say obama is not their president real pity . . . ![]() |
doctors treat God heals ![]() but i'm afraid, it will be cost effective if we concentrate on living the life God wants us to live, that way we wont even disturb Him to heal us of some HIV/AIDS . . . abi ![]() |
babs787:@babs, no disrecpect, honestly, no disrespect, i am not a bible scholar, but have you considered the fact that ishmael may have been deranged to behave like a kid when he was 17yrs old? he may have some form of profound mental retardation or delayed developmental milestone . . . . . . . . have you considered that? seeing what his descendants are doing in today's generation. |
the best thing i can do for my kids is to give them a european passport. |
i pity the new dog obama is bringing to the white house. fox news will soon attack it |
