Hi all. We are at the NVC stage of our U. S family based preference category. F1(Single adult children of U. S Citizen). We got our welcome letter early June paid all the visa fees and filled the DS 260 form online. and by the month end of June we submitted all documents to NVC. I read from a forum on Visa journey that the NVC usually write petitioners or beneficiaries on their Case complete. Those that have gone tru the experience, how long did it take to get case complete after submitting all documents to NVC? I created this thread for those going tru the NVC stage or who have already passed through the stage to share their experiences on the forum.

Note: the thread is for those going through the NVC processing or those that have already passed through it, for the family preference category.

@justwise, Pls sir, I beg u not to delete this thread, as it may help those who have just started their NVC processing ask questions on how to go about their case. As u know, our immigrant V. O on the immigrant visa section does not answer questions that has to do with NVC processing or how to go about filling forms at that stage. Good luck to all of us still waiting to join our folks in the states.

Let your mom find happiness again. Don't be selfish. Most old ppl marry for love and companionship. By the time u are older and settle down, and your other siblings, how do u expect her to feel living in an empty house? That is what kills them faster. " Loneliness "

The reason why she said it is because yesterday Trump said he wants to pass a bill to cut down on Legal migrants coming Into the U. S. Really First he said he wants to remove the illegal ones from America, and then now the ones that have waited so many years to migrate legally to join their family over there. Haba! can they accept medical certificate/ clearance and Police certificate, from other source at Abuja's US embassy or must somebody go and get it at Lagos.
please I need response quickly to avoid money wastage.

Your medicals is done in Lagos. Your case must be an immigrant visa. The hospitals to do your medicals are included on the form sent to you from NVC. Your police certificate is done on the island. Alagbon street. It's very close to the passport office on the island. Hope this helps

Your friend cannot help you migrate to America. If you want to do it legally you need to have an immediate family filing for you, or a sibling or employment based Immigration.

What a useless world.

I can't explain why ppl are celebrated in death rather than when they are living. You will hear cases of ppl dying as paupers and then money comes out from no where to give the person a befitting burial. Why the money no fit come out when the person is alive to enjoy it. It's really sad.

The wife will be the happiest. After 2girls, a boy. In Igboland, if u haven't had a male child, na gobe for u in the family. Forgetting that according to science, it's the man that determines the sex of the child. But being a Christian, it's God that gives children. Any child, male or female, should be appreciated.

For ppl who may someday find themselves in NY for the first time, This is New York subway, The trains are numbered, ABCDE...1234... etc
The trains have one of these numbers, which tells the destination. uptown or downtown depends on where you are headed.

The second picture is where you swipe your MetroCard, You have to get the card before you cross that line
there is always a vending machine right there where you buy the metrocard, Jump that and NYPD will arrest you.

3rd picture is in the train, check that so you dont pass your destination

That was exactly what Eddie Murphy jumped over in "Coming to America" when he was running After Lisa. He is lucky NYPD didn't catch him

whatever electronic machine you are looking for, you don't need them. just fill the form, when it gets to the signature part, just click the button that says sign this for electronically. that's it.

I don't think cybercafes is the best place to fill such delicate form.

Goodluck, and make sure your petitioner gets the affidavit of support filled out correctly, all signatures, and blank spaces i think should be N/A-ed, missing out any section can mean 4 months delay.

thanks a lot. I figured that out yesterday that signing and submitting electronically just means u have filled and read the form after clicking on it, I just printed out the confirmation page for records. I appreciate. thank you so much.

Just download the latest adobe reader dc with that you will be able to do it

I walked away with a paper stating where to drop off my passport cos my medical result wasn't ready

Advice to everyone in the preference category
You will get the visa so stay calm
Almost 50 immigration interviews before me, maybe 3 didn't get it due to incomplete documents, they were asked to bring the documents on another date and get their visas.

My heart goes to the non immigrant folks.

hi sledjama, pls how did u fill the DS-261 form. that's the first form u receive at the Nvc stage, the part where they say sign and submit electronically, been to a lot of cyber cafes in Ikeja, where I stay. none of them seem to have the electronic signature machine. most of the big cafes I know then have closed down. or is there another way to sign the form? pls your advice will be appreciated

Pls mods I would really appreciate this if it makes front page. Cos this is painful. We are in a country where anything goes and its very unfair.

I loaded glo card 2000 becos I noticed that 1k glo data which is 3.2gb and is suppose to last me for a month, doesn't stay more than 2weeks. So I decided to load 2k this time. I loaded the card while in my shop, and then dialed the regular *777# and read the instruction. For the monthly plan I dialed the no 2. And then dialed no 2 again which is the 2k for 7.5gb for 1month. But instead of my 7.5gb, I got a message, that I had loaded the number 3 which is for 2k and Campus boost which happens to have only 2gb. I was shocked. Only for me to call their customer care and explained my predicament and told them I was not on campus and i did not type the option no 3 but 2, simply becos I wanted more gigabyte, becos 1k doesn't last for me. And they said what they have on their system is what I loaded, and that it cannot be reversed. Even after telling them am not a student but a mother of 2 and running a business, so why would I type the data plan meant for students. All they could tell me is that there's nothing they can do about it. Is this fair? Why is our country like this? Why do people make things difficult for others. Na me find wahala ooo. I would have jejely loaded the usual 1k for 3gb. Now I loaded 2k and they gave me less than 3gb, telling me it is what appeared on their system and there's nothing they can do about it. . I just hope someone reads this, cos if this is how Globacom staff's treat their customers, its definitely not good for business. Not even in this recession where a penny is worth a lot.

How many times will he keep complaining? He should move on with his life. One day God will remember him too.
