A salesgirl is lucky to be alive after tragedy was averted at her employer's shop in Delta state. According to reports, the lady identified as Faith sat in front of her store in Sapele area of Delta state before a truck rolled from a mechanic workshop close by and ran into the shop - almost destroying things on its path.

The salesgirl who was happy and thankful that the truck was stopped before getting to her there - decided to pose at the scene as she celebrated being an accident victim by this early time of the year.

A suspected internet fraudster popularly known as 'Yahoo Boy' or Ghana Burger reportedly killed a woman after hitting her with his blue car in Delta state. According to Sapele Oghenek, the 'Yahoo Boy' ran into the woman who was selling water melon with her child by the roadside of Simple Ocean Hotel in Sapele area of Delta state....

The woman reportedly died after she was rushed to a hospital due to severe injuries she sustained while her child survived the accident without any scratch.

It was also revealed that the woman's husband died last year.

Now the woman's five children have become orphans following her death.

The car was left at the accident scene as the condition of the driver is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

A man from Sunderland in England has revealed how his grandmother was disowned by her family many years ago for marrying a Nigerian man. The young man who took to his twitter account to share the brief story - said his grandmother who was from County Mayo in Ireland, chose love over bigotry and sentiments and the rest in now history.

A man identified as Chuks Samson from Ogidi Town in Anambra State was seen roaming the streets of Lagos after arriving Nigeria on the 5th of December 2017 aboard Emirates Airline from London. According to a witness, Anselm Ojietu, who met him and interviewed him, the man's mental health deteriorated badly as he temporarily went insane - walking around with his bags after arriving the country for Christmas.

Now, efforts are being made to locate his people.

It was a show of amusement and opulence on Wednesday at the third edition of the Calabar Bikers Parade in Cross River State as a former governor of the state, Donald Duke and his wife, Onari, emerged in a monster power bike.

Attendees, passerby and participants were thrilled as the couple stole the show.

The bike awe the crowd, who continuously chanted ‘Donald Donald’ as he drove through the carnival route with his wife.

The bikers carnival, introduced in 2015 by Ben Ayade, Cross River governor, is aimed at adding to the rich content of the Calabar carnival.

It would have been a sad moment for the family and friends of a man identified as Godswill Leeleebari Gabriel, who cheated death after a truck failed brake and ran into his shop - crushing everything in its path. The sad incident happened today, December 27. According to Godswill, everything in his shop was crushed by the truck except him.

The thankful man took to Facebook to share the good news. Below is what he wrote;

Friends and families, well wishers world wide. See what God did for me today. 27/12/2017 Record braking miracle of the year. Some police officers along with other passengers of an 18 seater commercial bus were involved in a road accident after the bus they were in had a brake failure behind New African Shrine. Before RRS ambulance got there, the officers were already being attended to by eyewitnesses and passersby who were at the scene.

Before the accident, it was gathered, the driver of the Lagos colour commercial bus had been warned to repair his vehicle's brake.

Those injured were moved to nearest hospital for treatment.

Police operatives in Enugu state have smashed a six man gang armed robbery suspects that specialized in the blocking of highways, hijacking of buses with passengers and taking them to a secluded portion of bushes off from the road and robbing passengers of money, valuables and belongings.

During the operations carried out, four of the gang dressed in a suspected police uniform were promptly arrested after a gun duel with the operatives that took them off guard and which left them fatally injured while two of the gang members believed also to have been touched by bullets of the operatives escaped with the injuries.

It was gathered that suspects had allegedly in the early hours of 24/12/17 , while dressed in suspected police uniform along 9thmile/Nsukka Expressway by Egede in Udi Local Government Area Enugu state - had stopped two Hiace commuter buses of a commercial bus company believed to be coming from Lagos and heading to Otukpo Benue state, diverted the buses to another bush road where they were allegedly robbing their victims before the operatives swooped on them.

The arrested fatally injured Armed robbery suspects later gave their names as Kenneth Eze,Ojobo Ude,Emeka Eze and sunday Ugwu and also claimed that they hail from Obollo Afor in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu state.

Items recovered from the suspects includes three locally made guns, nine GSM Phones belonging to the victims.

Meanwhile,the operatives have intensified manhunt on the fleeing injured members of the gang while members of the public particularly hospital operators are to watch out for any one with injury/injuries suspected to be that of gun shots and report promptly to a nearby police station for prompt necessary action.

It was reported some time ago that the founder and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church also known as Winners' Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo who is among the richest pastors Africa - owns four private jets. This has not gone down well with Nigerians who never forget to bring up issue of extravagance and flamboyancy anytime they hear the name of the pastor or the church.

Writer and journalist Leke Beecroft, has revealed in details how private jets the church currently has. Read below;

DOES WINNERS’ CHAPEL OWN FOUR JETS?

The biggest criticism concerning the Church ownership of jets is that a particular Church, Winners’ Chapel owns four jets. Infact, the respected Forbes Magazine has quoted the same information severally. In an environment negatively disposed to the growth and prosperity of Churches, this is well understood. However, what is not understood is that falsehood can be bandied for so long without critics caring to crosscheck. It seems that as far as any information about the Church might seem to put her in bad light, critics would always be ready to shut their brains and put off their thinking caps to accept it. Knowing the leader of the Church in question however, Bishop Oyedepo, a man of great faith, would never insist that the Church does not have four jets; instead, he has prophesied that there would soon be at least 10 jets with parking for helicopters in addition and owned by worshippers; but what are the facts? How many jets does the Church actually own?

The first aircraft bought in 1996 for N100 million was an 8 seater HS (Hawker Sydney) 25 400B with registration 5N-WMA (World Mission Agency) for the propagation of the Gospel across the globe. On September 18, 1996, the aircraft was dedicated. Note that unlike the situation with Oduyemi of Bethel, a one branch Church, Winners’ Chapel had just launched her AGIP (African Gospel Invasion Program) 2 years earlier in 1994 with a vision to take Africa for Christ. Also, the Church was already holding her very hectic annual apostolic visits (it was on one of such hectic apostolic visits that Pastor (Mrs) Faith Oyedepo fell ill and almost lost her life) and the first trip of the aircraft in Nigeria was to Kaduna when Bishop Oyedepo ministered at the Garden of Faith in September 1996. I was privileged to be in that service as a teenager and by the next day, I was curious enough to join a Deacon in the Church to see the jet for myself at the Kaduna Airport. Like I said earlier, politicians travel on national campaigns once every 4 years using jets in Nigeria. For a Church undertaking annual missionary or apostolic visits, I saw every need for the use of an aircraft. Campaigning for Jesus round the country every year deserved the use of a jet.

In June 2004, a second aircraft was bought as a ‘replacement’ for the first one. The new aircraft was a HS 800A with registration 5N-PTL (Praise The Lord).

By August 2008, The Challenger 604 with registration N664D (Dominion), a newer and bigger aircraft was gotten at a good deal during the global recession. At this point, the Church had two jets, however, one of the oil majors in Nigeria had taken the HS 800A on lease and were thus paying for it at prevailing commercial rates until it was involved in a minor accident.

Plans to buy a GLEX (Global Express) were later discouraged by Pastor Kenneth Copeland according to Bishop Oyedepo and eventually the two aircraft were sold while the Church airline operators (Dominion Aviation Center) bought two aircraft in replacement; first a helicopter with registration-5N-BQY used for short trips to Landmark University Omu Aran in Kwara from Lagos or from Ota to the Lagos Airport and on a few occasions to Abuja etc. The helicopter has now been disposed of. The other aircraft which is the ONLY ONE in use presently is a Challenger 605 with registration N633WM (World Mission).

Basically and by design, as new ones came in, old ones were always sold out. The peak of foreign trips by the aircraft was between 2010 and 2013 due to the planting of thousands of Churches from 2010 in which the Church grew from 700 branches to over 6000.

A car-snatching syndicate, which has been terrorizing Makurdi, the Benue State capital and its environs has been smashed by the Benue State Police Command. The gang was arrested by men of the Benue State Police command during the week.

According to reports, one of the suspected car snatcher revealed how the car was obtained by his gang after spotting the driver having sex at David Mark bye-pass in Makurdi, Benue state capital.

"For the Highlander, we met one man in the dead of a night at David Mark bye-pass having sex with a woman in the vehicle....", these were his words..

Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Thursday expressed sadness over the untimely death of Mr. Jerry Ojugbeli, a driver to the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly. Mr. Ojugbeli died from injuries sustained from Canon gun shot at the Ndokwa West PDP Local Government Council Elections Campaign Flag off rally at Kwale on Thursday.

Governor Okowa in a condolence statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu condoled with the family, Deputy Speaker, the people of Umusadege, Kwale and the entire Ndokwa nation over the untimely demise of Jerry Ojugbeli.

Governor Okowa, while commiserating with the family of the late Ojugbeli, urged them to take solace in God, adding, “His untimely demise is not only painful but regrettable, adding "the late Ojugbeli was a diligent man who approached his work with the seriousness it deserves.

"On behalf of the government and people of Delta State I mourn the untimely demise of Mr. Jerry Ojugbeli whose accidental death was caused by a loose cannon shot at the Ndokwa West PDP Local Government Council Election Campaign Rally.

The Governor who bemoaned the loss of the party faithful prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest and grant speedy recovery to all those who sustained injuries during the incident.

"He was a dedicated worker and party faithful whose untimely death is regrettable and there is no doubt that he will be surely missed," Governor Okowa said.

The Chairman of Innoson Group of Companies, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, has arrived home after being released on bail Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Chief Chukwuma, was however, released, last night. EFCC which confirmed the release said the Innoson boss was arrested for alleged tax fraud and forgery.

A masquerade was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver, today, ten days to the end of the year. According to reports, the masquerade is said to have been hit when the driver, who was on high speed, tried to avoid another vehicle on the road.

The corpse was seen lying on Nwaniba Road by Use Offot, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Capital.

The identity of the masquerade is yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
