The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday 7th of April, 2017 arraigned one Suzan Vega Ochuko before Justice P.I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin, Edo State on a three count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence..

Ochuko and one Tony Uyimwen aka Alex Ethan (now at large) allegedly operating with a pseudo name Alex Ethan contacted one Mrs. Beatrice AUF DER MAUR from St. Gallen, Switzerland via Facebook and defrauded her of One Hundred and Thirty-Two Thousand Euro.

Mrs Auf Der Maur was allegedly hoodwinked into a love relationship with the defendant who subsequently defrauded her of the said amount under the pretence of executing a non existing contract.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

In view of her plea, the prosecution counsel M.T. Iko asked the court to fix a date for commencement of trial. The defence counsel, Ekhator Ogiegbaen told the court that he had filed an bail application for his client. He pleaded with the court to grant his client bail as she will not jump bail and that the defendant was a nursing mother.

Though the prosecution counsel opposed the bail, Justice Ajoku granted the defendant bail in the sum of One Million Naira with two sureties in like sum.

The sureties must be civil servant not below grade level 12 or two sureties with landed property within the jurisdiction of the court.

The sureties must deposit original title of their document with the court while the civil servant must produce an official letter from his superior from his office. The documents are to be verified by the prosecution.

The matter was adjourned to the 14th of June, 2017 for trial while the defendant is to be remanded in prison custody pending the perfection of her bail.

A danfo with the registration number, KTW 479 XQ descending Maryland under bridge this afternoon somersaulted leaving two women completely burnt while four other occupants of the bus sustained injuries.

One of the victims, a heavily pregnant woman was seriously burnt before help could come her way. The two women were believed to be fish sellers coming from Oyingbo where they had gone to buy fish. The danfo was heading towards Ikeja when the incident happened.

According to eyewitness account, the danfo was trying to overtake a Toyota Highland, which was equally speedily descending the Maryland Bridge when it somersaulted and caught fire instantly.

The driver, conductor and four other occupants of the bus were reported to have escaped with injuries while the ladies who were trapped in the fire completely got burnt.

Littering the scene of the accident were several pieces of ‘eja eegun’ that were owned by the women.

On the scene assisting in the evacuation of the charred bodies of the ladies were LASEMA and RRS officials.

The remains of the women have taken to Ikeja General Hospital while the burnt vehicle has been evacuated.

Those with injuries have equally being given first aid treatment and while those with serious wounds have been transfered to General Hospital, Ikeja by the Lagos State Ambulance Emergency Services (LASEMBUS).

A video footage has gone viral online showing how two suspected armed robbers were publicly executed by police in front of a baying crowd in Eastleigh, Kenya. According to online reports, the plain-cloth police officer was given go-ahead by a higher authority to shoot the young men as one begged for his life before he was shot multiple times.

The police IG Joseph Boinnet has ordered a probe into a viral video depicting the alleged extrajudicial killing of two suspects.

Two students of Okwuohia secondary school in Obowo in Imo state were nabbed with some weapons including a mini axe. According to Uwas Onyeku, the teenage students who were reported to be members of 'Aiye' confraternity -were caught red-handed by vigilante men in a bush. The students were handed over to Nigeria police and have been reportedly charged to court.

A man accused of attempting a robbery was stuck in a chimney at a youth centre in Zimbabwe for two days, before being rescued by a fire brigade crew and taken away by police. Andrea Zunga, 33, looked like a zombie from a movie when he emerged from the chimney.

According to report by Zimbabwean journalist Raisedon Baya, Zunga's accomplices who are still at large, managed to get in and out through one of the chimneys and got way with two computers, a laptop and a jacket but he got stuck in the other chimney which is blocked at the bottom. The accomplices on realising that Zunga was stuck in the chimney fled with their loot and did not tell anyone about the mishap.

During his rescue mission, police were there on time to save him from an angry mob before whisking him away.Zunga is said to be on important medication after having come from South Africa on a stretcher, family members said.

thats how they faked a story about a resturant in Anambra serving human hands, it was later discovered that the picture is not from Nigeria and the website that accused Anambra falsely apologise.
