A Nigerian man in Italy has left his friends and family in a mourning state following his unfortunate death. The man identified as Johnny from Benin city, Edo state -was reportedly shot dead after being attacked at his residence in Nigeria after his return from the European country...May his soul rest in peace.

Two months after criticizing the Big Brother Naija show, Delta state Governor Okowa's aide was spotted chilling with the winner of the show, Efe Ejemba in Asaba. Ovie Success Ossai who blasted BBNaija in an interview, said it’s shameful to win prizes from amorous and indecent actions.

Ossai told NAIJ.com in Asaba that: "Since BBNAIJA came into the scene after some years, it has influenced Nigerians very negatively most especially the Nigerian youths on immoral relationships.”

He said considering the unholy displays and shows on BBNaija, Nigerians youths have been badly influenced, a development which he said has the tendency of affecting students and taking the precious time that could have invested into studying their books.

He said: “If only there could be an educating version of BBNAIJA, if only they could house intelligent scholars, and make them compete for similar prizes, I wouldn’t have condemned it. But the whole thing is touching the base nature of man and it’s actually not the best for our Nigerian audience.

Ovie, who is the youngest appointee in the Governor’s administration in Delta, said with the situation in the situation in the country at present, it may be difficult to produce great Nigerians as Okonjo Iweala, Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and a host of other Nigerians who have made significant progress and contributions to national and international development.

Read the press statement by the Nigerian Police Force, Imo state command.

On 10/05/2017 at about 06 50hrs, operatives of Orji Police Division received a distress call that a group of cultists were rampaging at Orji Comprehensive Secondary School during initiation activity and were shooting indiscriminately.

A combined team of operatives responded to the area. On sighting the police operatives, the hoodlums started shooting and fled to different locations. Thirty-one (31) suspected cultists were later arrested. The suspects are undergoing screening at the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID)

The State Commissioner of Police CP Chris Ezike who coordinated the operation averred that cult related activities is a top priority in his road map to fighting crime and criminality in the state. He stated that those arrested would be charged to court after investigation.

The military has taken over Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital following the killing of an 18-year-old girl by suspected ritualist. The victim, simply identified as Faith and a native of Epie speaking area of the state, was reported to have been lured to an hotel along the Biogbolo area of the state capital for a sexual rendezvous ‎with an unidentified man.

It was gathered that later in the night the suspected ritualist, who had lodged in the hotel and requested for female company, ‎cut off the girl's left br*st and left her in her pool of blood.

Some staff of the hotel claimed the suspect was an Igbo man identified and was lodged without proper documentation and identification as required by law.

Another version claimed the girl was allegedly lured to the room of the unknown guest by the hotel owner with N500.

The hotel owner and two other suspects have been arrested by the police. The incident, which occurred on Friday at about 10pm, reportedly led to serious squabble between some residents around the area.

The dreadful group called 'Badoo' known for terrorizing Ikorodu residents is back again after striking yesterday -killing a mother and her daughter in a very disheartening manner. Facebook user WF Emmony Funds who shared the graphic photos wrote;

Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe was photographed sleeping at the World Economic Forum taking place in Durban today. The 93-year-old has a bad reputation for falling asleep at conferences and meetings

People on Twitter critisised the Zimbabwean president for sleeping while important matters are being discussed.

Mugabe made a surprise appearance on a morning panel on fragile states at the World Economic Forum on Africa in Durban today.

There was a standoff earlier today between officials of the Nigerian Customs and some car dealers in Kaduna state. According to reports, the Customs officials were trying to apprehend some car importers/dealers along Rabah road junction in Kaduna. The angry car dealers organized themselves as they set the Customs patrol vehicle ablaze.

Three female teenage suicide bombers were gunned down yesterday night while trying to attack military outpost popularly known as "Gontanamo" along Muna Garage (c company 195 bn) in Borno state. Though they were sighted trying to gain access to the premises and were shot by the securities leading to the detonation of their concealed explosives, which killed all three of them and injured one of the security personnel.

The corpses were evacuated to Borno state specialist hospital by NEMA/BOSEMA Emergency Response teams .
