A Facebook user has raised an alarm about some people repackaging and changing the dates on expired drips in Onitsha, Anambra State. Blossom Martins who works as an OAP at Solid 100.9 Fm Enugu -shared this in a bid to raise awareness and to call the attention of the authorities wrote;

Happening now ..... PLS KEEP SHARING TO SAVE LIVES! These people are repackaging expired drip and also changing the dates, this is happening now while we all are in church at fegge port harcourt road at Onitsha, I think the public needs to know about this and let the right Authorities take action... According to a twitter user, Kenny Abel Adesanya, a military officer attached to the 174 battalion (Ikorodu) beat a man to death at Ogijo area of Ikorodu, Lagos.. The man's corpse was reportedly left on the street after the alleged brutality.

Shortly after the report of Mrs. Abigael Ogunyinka who was rescued by fishermen in Lagos Lagoon early Friday morning, another woman was today prevented at about 11:25 a.m from leaping into the Lagoon by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos state Police Command.

The lady, Taiwo Momoh, 58, a textile dealer in Lagos Island, had put off her shoes and was wrapping her dress around her when men of RRS 226 prevented her from jumping.

The lady, who lives in Lekki Lagos, disclosed that she was pushed to committing suicide in order to put an end to her constant sleeplessness and shame occasioned by her indebtedness to three Swiss textile dealers.

She noted that her problem started sometimes in 2015, when a Bureau De Change dealer carted away her N18.7 million she wanted to change to pay her foreign creditors.

She added that the creditors had given her Swiss textiles worth several millions of naira, noting that she has maintained good relationship with the creditors for more than 15 years.

Her condition she said became compounded when robbers invaded her shop in Lagos Island carting away most of the textiles that was left with her.

She emphasized that most of the time, she has been having sleepless nights and seeing the ghosts of the creditors whenever she was alone.

Momoh, a member of the Redeemed Christain Church of God disclosed that on several occasions she had attempted to see her Parish Pastor to identify with her problem and for the church to help her raise money to meet her Swiss Creditors in order to assure them that she would pay their money.

She noted that she was only allowed to see the second in command, which has yielded no fruits.

“Added to all these, my first son, whom I felt would stand by me and console me abandoned me. By the time I’m gone, maybe he would come around and inherit what is left.

I don’t want to use my debt and death to disturb anybody. I was in the shop this morning. I have looked everywhere and estimated what is there. I think, with my house, a bungalow, those I am leaving behind can still live comfortably. I want to go and meet God. This world is empty”, she stated.

“I won’t because I want to get rich join cult group. I go my way and I don’t socialize unnecessarily”, she concluded.

She added, “I was a Muslim, I have because of this problem been jumping from one faith to the other. The problem is too much for me to bear. I want to go back to God.

That is why I have dressed very simply. I am ready to meet HIM. If He cannot address my problem on earth, let me go back to Him.”

Alhaji Mohammed Indimi, a Maiduguri based billionaire, and In-law to President Muhammadu Buhari has described Governor Kashim Shettima's records of achievements in Borno as unbelievable, saying it surprises him, how the Governor has changed the faces of Maiduguri and other parts of the State despite meagre resources and management of the Boko Haram insurgency.

Indimi, whose son recently married Zahra, President Buhari’s most popular daughter, gave his verdict while receiving Governor Shettima at his expanse residence in Maiduguri on Thursday evening.

The Governor’s visit was to follow up on Indimi's pledge to make huge contributions in areas of infrastructure and agriculture to support ongoing efforts by the Government to rebuild homes, rehabilitate and resettle internally displaced persons in safe communities destroyed by insurgents.

The Billionaire said in addition to what he sees going on, he had sent a group of his children to visit sights of some ongoing Government projects taking place outside the city centre and the reports he got were very positive. Indimi promised to intervene in areas of modern agriculture so as to create livelihoods for internally displaced persons who return to safe communities.

The Billionaire business man said efforts must be combined to rebuild the economy of Borno State with particular focus given the places like Baga where where nearly 50% of Borno's economy was coming from prior to insurgent attacks.

Governor Shettima thanked Indimi for his passion describing his offers as overwhelming.

A woman was knocked down and crushed to death by a bus while trying to cross the expressway. According to Seun Opeyemi who shared the gruesome photos, the bus also hit a motorcyclist who was seriously injured. The cyclist was rushed to the hospital for treatment while the corpse of the woman was later removed and deposited in a morgue. May her soul rest in peace.

According to an online user, Hunyingan Stephen Adewale, a married landlord with 2 wives and children (Tao a.k.a Kiekie) -was nabbed yesterday with the decapitated head and hands of a lady he allegedly killed for ritual purpose at Ikoga Zebbe area of Badagry Lagos. He was apprehended by an angry crowd and handed over to the police.

Here's a trending footage of a South African pastor inciting his congregation against Nigerians and Ghanaians. The pastor can be heard ranting how Nigerians only advertise penis enlargement products to South Africans. According to him, he believes that Nigerians offering penis enlargement drugs and services to South Africans is an insult.

Barr. Sunny Ekwe, An Ovorie Ethiope East LGA of Delta State based lawyer beaten by some 5 soldiers who left him to die after they fractured his spinal cord. Two of them arrested and still in the military custody of the 222 battalion Agarho Utor, Ughelli, delta state.

On the 11th of March 2017 at about 7pm this lawyer went to visit a relative at the Okpara waterside when suddenly as he was about to leave a young boy demanded he should follow him to meet some other boys seated in a distance that was a bit dark.

In the process of resisting the boy, the boy called the other four guys who descended on the lawyer and subjected him to the most crudest humiliation and brutality ever and only abandoned him to die in a close dried up drain.

Because of the atrocities of the boys in the area no body in the community could intervene as they are young soldiers. The lawyer was rushed to the hospital at Isiokolo but referred to Orerokpe after he was revived. The police of Isiokolo made first failed attempt at arresting the boys but they resisted and the police chickened out claiming as military officers they must be dealt with by their command.

It took the intervention of my humble self and a serving magistrate to prevail on the DPO who mobilised about 20 mobile police personel to the community and luckily the boys were at the verge of moving to their station and only two were apprehended as three had left before police arrival . They were arrested and formally handed over to the commanding officer of the 222 battalion where they have been in custody till date.

They are persons who just returned from 9months military training. We salute the reawaken dogged Ness of the DPO and the forthright Ness of the commanding officer who have sent for the return of the fleeing officer. Truly they have realised this is a democracy where pen is mightier than the sword.

The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force have nabbed 43 oil bunkerers and sealed-off property with 2.5 million litres of adulterated diesel at Alausa, ikeja. The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, disclosed that the Agency acted on Save Our Soul petitions submitted to his office on illegal activities of these oil bunkerers at Plot 8, Elephant Cement Way, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

Egbeyemi disclosed further that the arrested 43 oil bunkerers were caught while mixing original diesel with kerosene and selling at a reduced price to the public.

He said preliminary investigation with available documents (receipts) revealed that these illegal business had been on for over seven years and adulterated diesel were supplied to the public, particularly big companies, across the state.

He said: "Adulterated diesel worth 2.5 million litres were fully loaded inside gallons and six different trucks with registration numbers FST 615 XR, EPE 672 XC, DKW 05 XA, KTU 750 XN, BDG 717 XA, FKJ 327 XH and XR 95 LSD."

The Chairman stated further that the newly-signed Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Bill by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode "would safeguard against prevalence dysentery and other pandemics around us".

Egbeyemi enjoined members of the public to report to appropriate government authority any illegal or criminal activities around them through the Lagos Emergency Toll-free lines: 112 and 767.

Egbeyemi confirmed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has directed that all those arrested in connection with the adulterated diesel business be immediately charged to court.

Mechanics around the area complained that the activities of these illegal oil bunkerers was responsible for a fire outbreak that destroyed properties, including 18 vehicles, in the vicinity recently.


Anjorin Babalola, a mechanic, disclosed that they were afraid to make a report to the government because they were being threatened by the notorious oil bunkerers.

Adeyinka confessed that they mixed diesel with kerosene on daily basis and supplied in large quantities to the public, particularly communication companies and banks, at cheaper rates across the State.

Adeyinka, who stated that they make sales of over N20 million everyday from adulterated diesel, said government should help him as he was the only son of his family.

Following a communal clash that left several people dead and others wounded in Ile-Ife, Osun state, the Hausas who reside in the town have allegedly started moving out. Hundreds of Hausas were reportedly leaving in batches, through commercial buses and cars.

While some of them took Ilesa route, others followed Akure route where they could get direct vehicles to the North.

According to reports, the Hausas claimed that it was only their people that lost their lives, following attacks by hoodlums whom they said, used dangerous weapons, including guns, cutlasses and cudgels among.

Recall that the fight reportedly started in the early hours of Thursday March 9, 2017 between the Hausas and Yorubas after an altercation between a Yoruba man and an Hausa man. The clash reportedly left at least five people dead.
