i beg to differ @justwise . it is in the Canadian website that a person with a visitors visa is able to apply for a work person through an approved LMIA company giving them a job offer.

if you are a visitor and you have the skills the company needs , you are free to apply for the job. Leave the rest to the company to determine if youre worth it ,

Canada that dropped that update knew that people would apply for such jobs under such circumstances . If not they would have stopped it .

Is it hard to get the job , Yes it is[i][/i] .

NOTE : people are going there to turn their LEGAL visitors visa to a LEGAL work permit . No one is going there to over stay their visa (6 months ) .And if they cant turn their LEGAL visitors visa to a LEGAL work permit, they have a return ticket back home .

Please tell me where the crime was committed here , or is it the intension that makes it a crime ?if it is , then the Canadian rule birthed the intension .

you can book via rail . From Trudeau airport (YUL) , you can take a uber with ur baggage's to Bonaventure train station and get train tickets going to the nearest rain stop to your destination . If you quickly get in the train you can put ur baggage at the end of the cabin you are seated .. youll see spaces for big baggage .. but other passengers would want to go the same .. its something like this image

The SX-1 visa is a guest visa with the additional ability to study for a short period within six months of arrival in Canada. It cannot be extended. This Visa is granted to applicants who desire to complete their short-term study objective in Canada. it does not include a work permit

After moving round, there are 3 levels of bringing the family in as observed. ( I have 6 children)
1. Asylum
2. School
3. LMIA. ( two types; fictitious and legitimate) both works


After due consideration, I think the school option with a DLI school is more appropriate and advantageous. 2 years course for 3 years WP after completion.

Someone also suggested short course during the visit before applying for school. I am looking into this and will let the house know.

On Cost of Living, Canada is pretty cheap compared to UK, Italy, France and Portugal and Schengen areas I have lived amongst others.

Vancouver’s got a very good weather and not as expensive as people say. I just got to Alberta this morning and will check out Edmonton and Calgary and see how it is.

I intend going to Montreal and New Brunswick before returning to Nigeria.

It may be important to share that I got a job offer for CDL driver and customer service job which though I declined as both will tie me down for 25 months with about $26 per hour pay.

The Canadian income tax year is from January 1 to December 31.. hence every January you must file your taxes as long has you have a SIN. Leave naija out of it .

It won’t be possible to convert to open work permit. I can only convert to close work permit with LMIA job offer.

Revamp your resume , revamp your linkedin page , follow recruiters on linkedin and apply every day on both linkedin and indeed ... NL is a small province that needs workers .. meanwhile , dont ignore any job offer that comes at the moment saying that youre a masters holder ... bills needs to be paid .. take the job , and keep applying till you get the right job for you ...

FOR EVERYONE LOOKING TO SWITCH TO TECH IN CANADA.., TAKE THIS ADVICE

1) you need some form of Canadian work experience to start with .
2) Remember that top tech companies recently laid off a lot of their employees with tons of work experience in the tech industry , so you are competing with people that have experiences working for facebook, google, twitter etc . So be ready to spend money on one 2 or 3 certifications in the field you are going for if needed .
3) While looking for that tech job, apply for other jobs also,so that you will have a steady income... remember a job application rejection is more painful when you are jobless than when you have a job .
4) You might get tons of application rejections , do not let that derail you . Don't give up .
5) before paying someone for a fast track tech class, make sure you inquire about the type of services that person is offering .. if he/she is just offering classes , and billing you more than $1000 , its a waste of money because all the resources they are getting , you can also get it onlie and buy if cheaper .. remember YOUTUBE AND UDEMY are your best friend in the tech space .

I work in tech so I’m quite hopeful I’ll be able to get a job and switch to TRP. That’s why the visitor’s visa is my first option for Canada.

erase the thought of uk , it will take a long time before u can finally get a legal life .... if ur friend is tired of naija and feel he can survive the hustling life in a country is would not have working papers , my advice would be to focus on the US . ... if ur friend is not streetwise either he would not make it , frustration and depression are two things he would be battling with everyday .

Look i will be honest with yall , Nigeria is surely not getting better and a lot of people do not want to waste their time believing it will get better soon .i remember i have been saying "e go better" since i was in jss 2 . now i am a father of two and Nigeria only got worse . People migrating illegally is done all over the world, is it bad? YES! is it for a good cause YES. They are not traveling to wreck other countries , rather to support a country that the system works . no one is a saint , even the ones staying behind to rebuild the country have skeletons in their cupboards . Dont condemn people if youre not in their shoes .. nothing bad in telling someone seeking advice to try his luck , sebi na him get him money . Do you actually think all the people that made it in US got there legally ? you will be surprise most of them also japa ,made themselves legal there and US is celebrating them one way or the other for adding to their system .

i know people in here are trying to stay truthful and blunt as always but all i see here most times in negative comments towards people seeking for advice . You might have the shittiest profile and yet be given visa and you have the best profile and be denied . i have come to the conclusion that given a US is based on luck , just make sure your story is as true as possible and hope for a positive outcome . No one here is related to a VO nor knows the the true guidelines given to VOs to grant visa , so if you going to apply take it like you are gambling , if you get it GOOD, if you dont , try again but know from there on your story must align with your previous applications.

This is because it might have happened to them before or they have seen it happen to a friend to heard stories.
