Romance / I’m Asari (ep 3): Duo by Pricelessfina(f): 4:39pm On Feb 06, 2020
“Asari,” I heard Max call out as he approached. “I apologize, really.” He said, as he held my waist from behind and bent to plant a kiss on my neck.

Oooh the things I felt, I had instant butterflies. I could tell he was indeed sorry and I felt a bit foolish to have exaggerated by walking away. “I hear you. I’m sorry too, I shouldn’t have been so dramatic.”

“I would’ve walked out too, my behavior was bad. You forgot something by the way.”

“What’s that?” I turned around to look, but my lips were met by his.

His soft lips were on mine and I had no choice but to kiss him back. If I tell you it was my best kiss ever, believe me. If you have watched The Princess Diaries, Anne Hathaway’s popular dialogue goes: ‘You know in old films whenever a girl would get seriously kissed, her foot would kind of – pop.’ That’s exactly what happened to me, I was floating.

I broke the kiss and giggled. “You’re so corny.”

“Why?” He asked, all smug.

“You forgot something by the way,” I said, mimicking him.

My phone buzzed. My taxi had arrived.

“Wow, you already ordered a car? I want to spend more time with you. I’ll take you home.”

“I’ll just call the driver. I even forgot that was happening.” Without any hesitation, I canceled the trip and called the driver to apologize.

“Is there anywhere you’d like to go?” Max asked as he led me by my waist. I just love the fact that he’s so tall, so my 5 ‘9 self feels small beside him.

“Home.”

“I hope you mean mine because you’re not going home now.”

“Told you I don’t go out on work nights, so I’m tired and need to sleep. But, I’ve had the best time.”

“Except…I annoyed you. I’ll make up for it, I promise. I apologize again.”

I smiled. “It’s really okay.” Read More On Asari

Jobs/Vacancies / 2 Ways Of Using Linkedin To Get That Much Needed Job Interview by Pricelessfina(f): 2:54pm On Jan 31, 2020
One of the ways which Nigerian recruiters search for candidates is through Linkedin. Linkedin helps them avoid the traditional approach of posting jobs online, and getting a lot of job interview applicants that aren’t a fit. Nigerian recruiters have devised a proactive way of using Linkedin, by putting in some keywords surrounding the skill sets they’re looking for, and getting the applicants that are a match.

As a job seeker, your aim is to be in the top of a recruiter’s search results, because they tend to only contact the top five or ten people who appear in this for job interviews. I’m going to be talking about how to increase your chance of getting a Nigerian job interview by showing up at the top of the list and having the recruiters approach you personally.

Here are two LinkedIn tips that will help you get more Nigerian job interviews.

1. Turn On “I’m Interested” In Linkedin Setting For A Nigerian Job Interview

he first thing you have to do is to turn on the ” I’m interested” setting in the linkedin website or app, which is located in your privacy settings.

Turning this on indicates to recruiters who use LinkedIn’s paid recruiting search platform that you’re interested in new opportunities.

The beautiful part about this is that if you’re in some kind of stealth job search mode, and you don’t want your current boss to know, it will not be publicly visible anywhere on your profile.

Jobs/Vacancies / How To Handle Illegal Job Interview Questions In Nigeria by Pricelessfina(f): 4:36pm On Jan 29, 2020
Sadly, for any job seeker, illegal job interview questions are a lot more common these days than we’d like them to be. If you don’t know how to navigate those kinds of question, you could miss out on a good job opportunity. But first what is an illegal job interview question?

The questions are fairly common, but the answers are anything but easy. What year were you born? Are you married? Are you planning to have a family? As a job seeker, how are you supposed to handle these illegal job interview questions? Whether out of ignorance or wilful disregard for the law, interviewers can sometimes ask interview questions of job candidates that are not legal. Any question an interviewer asks should relate to your work skills and your experience.

Interview questions that aren’t about your ability to do the job are, for the most part, off-limits. However, sometimes an interviewer asks a question that seems like a “getting to know you” question. It might be something like, “What do you like to do on weekends?” “What kinds of hobbies do you have?” “How long have you lived here?” While innocent on the surface (and they likely are), without realising it, you could be answering an illegal interview question.

In order to avoid getting flustered, I’m going to show you how to handle illegal job interview questions.

My advice to you is to ask a “clarifying” question. Forget the first impulse to attack or make assumptions about the interviewer that this person knows what they are asking is an illegal job interview questions. You need more information as to why the question was asked in the first place. You might say something like this,”I’d be happy to answer that question, but I’d like to understand a little bit more about how it’s relevant to the job.” That way the interviewer will have to clarify how it affects your role for the job.

This way you will understand if they know its an illegal job interview question or not. At this point, you can decide to either answer the question (because you know it was innocent) or maybe say, “You know, I hate to say this, but that is technically an illegal interview question and I’d really prefer not to answer.” It’s totally your choice. But now, you’ve at least got something to work with, so that you have a reason to give your response in either direction.

Jobs/Vacancies / How To Overcome Age Requirement In Your 2020 Job Search by Pricelessfina(f): 10:28am On Jan 29, 2020
Have you ever searched for a job and got discouraged because of the age requirement? Do you feel like this age requirement is affecting your job search? Do you feel you are losing out on some jobs because you are either too old or too young? If so, you’re not alone in all these. I’m going to share with you some information on how to overcome this obstacle.

A lot of job seekers have been put off by this age requirement and I want to break the huge misconception. The fact that it is not age discrimination that you are seeing and experiencing but experience discrimination.

What Is Experience Discrimination/Age Requirement?

What do I mean by that? Well, let me give you a little back history. Right now there are about 77 million Baby Boomers out there. Who are Baby Boomers? A baby boomer is a term used to describe a person who was born between 1946 and 1964. The baby boomer generation makes up a substantial portion of the world’s population, especially in developed nations and all of them have decided to stay in the workforce a lot longer than the generations before them

Millennials
The problem is that, over the last 20+ years, 100 million millennials have also emerged and entered the workforce.

Millennials make up over half the workforce today, and many of them are now in their late twenties and early thirties. What this means is that millennials now have enough years and experience to work in the job markets and given the fact that they are cheaper more technologically savvy, they tend to be hired more than seasoned workers.

Again, this age requirement isn’t really age discrimination. It purely an economic principle of supply and demand. When you think about it, in the world of business economics, there is too much supply (too many seasoned workers) and not enough demand for the skill set especially with the high unemployment rates in Nigeria.

So, what do you do about this (Age Requirement)?

Well, don’t take it personally, this affects both Baby Boomers and millennials. This is what we call “globalization” and every day the chances of getting affordable help are being lowered around the world by geographical and economic boundaries.

So, this begs the question of how you can start thinking about your career and how to change your strategy with job search and your relevance in the job market. Again, it’s a supply and demand concept.

Religion / Jazz Is Not Real by Pricelessfina(f): 11:37am On Jan 24, 2020
I’m of the firm belief that if you believe in the existence of a supreme being, you should believe in jazz as well because goodwill never exists without evil. Jazz (juju) is a form of Nigerian worship often referred to as voodoo in many other cultures. It supposably involves being in contact with the spiritual realm, traditional deities, and ancestors who grant supernatural wishes to the people who implore these spirits.

Most of the time this communication with spirits or ancient Nigerian deities occurs through the use of a native doctor or witch doctor who is the intercessor between the devotee and these spirits. This transaction often involves some form of sacrifice, be it monetary or in kind. Sometimes animals, body parts and even human beings are requested (this is according to popular belief). When said exchange is made the person can gain whatever they requested for be it money, power, love or the destruction of an enemy. Jazz is a newer term for the phenomenon. It used to be called juju years back.

I asked a few people if they believe that it works and why they do or don’t. They had these to say:
I would say yes because just as religious miracles exist but can’t be scientifically proven, so does juju. Moreover, I have seen so many strange things in my lifetime to doubt its existence.

Bridget
I believe jazz is real because I’ve seen it happen first hand. We have rainmakers is my village and I’ve seen them perform and make the rainfall.

Ochemba
It is real because I feel like the world is deeper than we know. Because the spiritual controls the physical.

Ashashi
I keep an open mind on it. I haven’t had any personal experience, but I’m leaning towards believing it exists because of the stories people have told me.

Akume
I believe there is a superpower that is beyond human eyes and the power makes available more power in the universe that not everybody can control. So for some people that are able to control these powers, they use it to create an illusion, some of which happen to be negative.

Tiwa
I don’t believe it’s real because it’s not consistent. I’ve heard about it working only based on probability.

John
Yes now, I believe it because I see it in practice every day at communal clashes where cutlasses bounce off people and people don’t get hurt from gunshots.

Akpos
I really have no idea. I don’t have any interest in knowing if I believe it or not.

Chidinma
The African in me says yes, but the logic in me disagrees. There’s something called The Archetypal Theory, which states that irrespective of the education or how far away you’ve gone from your roots, The human in you will always respond to the call of their blood. For instance, you might say you don’t believe in jazz, but if you walk into a bush and see a red cloth tied to a feather, your instinct will be to avoid that item.

Sanusi
The major thing about most of these responses is that people have not had the first-hand experience of jazz working. It’s mostly always “my neighbor’s wife said this,” or “I heard from my grandmother’s best friend, that…”

jazz
Now, the question is, “do I believe it works?”

Romance / I’m Asari (ep 2): The Sexy Goddess Living In Abuja. My Life Experience With Men by Pricelessfina(f): 12:03pm On Jan 23, 2020
I haven’t been this excited about a date in a long time. Everything about the way Max and I met was thrilling and I’ve never experienced this instant connection with anyone.

We both wanted to meet somewhere we could talk (and eat), so we agreed to meet at Silk Road (a restaurant I had never been to). Max offered to come pick me, but I refused because I enjoy walking into a place and have the guy stare at me. I hope that’s not strange.

I did not want to ‘dress up’, so I didn’t beat my face. But I wore a simple black bodycon dress, threw on my wig, wore ankle-strapped heels, and I was good to go.

“You look amazing,” said Max as he got up to hug me. I was happy. Not because of what he said, it was the way his face lit up when I walked in. I couldn’t stop admiring him. He had on a blue long-sleeved shirt that showed off his chest and arm muscles, which are not too big to look like he was about to burst out of his shirt.

“Thank you, so do you,” I said as I sat down.

“I was half expecting you to be late, so I’m impressed by how early you made it. AND to look that good too…”

“I told you I wasn’t going to be,” I said, smiling. He had already ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and was pouring me a glass.

“You did. But I’ve experienced people being late to appointments too many times to believe when they say, ‘I’m on my way’.”

Romance / I’m Asari: The Sexy Goddess Living In Abuja. My Life Experience With Men by Pricelessfina(f): 3:13pm On Jan 21, 2020
Hi! I’m Asari. I’m a 25-year-old single woman living with my parents and younger brother. I’ve lived in Abuja all my life and went through primary, secondary and university in the city. I’m working as a banker, but I want to be a popular media personality someday. Oh, and I’m hot too!

I have just woken up with the worst hangover and biggest urge to tell you about this thing that happened yesterday. So here it goes…

I was really tired on my way from work and having a forced conversation with the Uber driver. My frustration got even more intense when we got to Apo bridge and there was traffic, so I basically ignored the guy and went on twitter to distract myself. I don’t know what made me look up from my phone and out the window, but I’m really grateful to whatever it was because when I did, I locked eyes with this fine man.

Ah! Fine man in his fine Audi looking at me with my tired face. Within seconds, I transformed from Asari to Agbani. I just had to relax my face and finger-brush my wig with a smile on my face. Then he laughed and gestured for me to bring down the glass, while he did his.

“Was that for me?” he asked. Still laughing at the fact that I still had my fingers in my hair.

“Maybe,” I said, smiling. Trying really hard to make sure my face was not showing how embarrassed I felt at getting caught.

“You’re very beautiful. You didn’t have to.” Yo, this man was making me melt. His voice, his smile, his eyes.

“Thank you,” I said. “You too.” We both laughed.

“Should I end your trip so you can join him?” I forgot there was another person in the car with me. Tbh, I forgot there was any other person on earth at that moment.

I turned to the Uber driver, “no now, I don’t want to disappear”

NYSC CHRONICLES – MY TWISTED JOURNEY (Part 2)

Uju had just returned to Port-Harcourt from the United States after graduating from Georgia State University and getting a degree in Media Studies.

Tall, plump, and dark as ebony, with big bright eyes and a set of shiny white teeth; She was aesthetically pleasing to behold.

She spoke with an American accent and was surprised at how much change had occurred in her neighbourhood while she was away.

Uju could barely recognise her little brother Chidubem who was only 10 years old when she left for school, but now spoke with a baritone voice, had broad shoulders and stood at 5ft 9ʺ, slightly taller than she was.

During the first week of her stay in Port-Harcourt, Uju complained often about the power cuts, the humidity and the mosquitoes; but as time went by, she adapted.

In no time, she became very familiar with the roaring sound of generators blaring in every street corner at night; she dropped her American accent and even spoke fluent Nigerian Pidgin English.

NYSC / Nysc Chronicles – My Twisted Journey (part 1) by Pricelessfina(f): 4:35pm On Jan 17, 2020
It was a sunny day in October; the harmattan breeze blew gently, causing dry leaves to sway following the direction of the wind and slowly descend in a whirling motion onto the golden brown grass, which shone in the sun.

The stadium was filled with vibrant young people all dressed in white NYSC crested vest and army green khaki trousers, seated under the shade while Mrs Amina Musa, a dark plump woman in her forties addressed them.

Hand fans moved from side to side while some others reached into their pockets for their lip balms, gently smearing it at intervals to prevent the harmattan dryness from cracking their lips.

f you think as a Nigerian, you will go through the labor market without having any ridiculous job experience in the workplace then, you got another thing coming. This was mine in Abia State.

During one of the numerous Assu strikes back then when the strike was as a seasonal film, I was frantically searching for a job and that ever precious job experience. Unfortunately, I left Abakaliki in Ebonyi to Aba in Abia state in search of a job. Well after two weeks in Abia state, I was getting tired of doing nothing till my uncle found a job for me at the last minute. For posterity stake, unlike ticket deals, last minute jobs generally don’t turn out too well.

Jobs/Vacancies / 5 Graceful Ways To Make Extra Cash Beside Your Job In Nigeria by Pricelessfina(f): 10:46am On Jan 17, 2020
In my years working and during my time unemployed, how to make extra cash has always been in mind. There wasn’t any day I didn’t think of finding more ways to make extra cash. I tell friends and family even colleagues with varying levels of income that it was always good to have another. But, my goal happens to be the same for everyone I meet. There are enough ways to make extra cash even if you have a job but it requires you to know what you are looking for. I want to help rich families continue growing wealth while helping young families reach their financial goals.

While a lot of my work revolves around getting the right information out there for people to know, I also try to help them understand that there is nothing better than multiple income streams.

I have done this over the years that I have started to notice that my friends took the advice and most have different levels of income and have ways to make extra cash.

let me say that again do not blame the woman, blame your sperm count. Recently, I stumbled on a page on Instagram owned by a popular Nigerian socialite and self-acclaimed relationship counsellor. Just at the time I found the page, there were lots of talks and conversations going on there regarding some sensitive marital issues, one of which is the issue of DNA testing.

So, as the story goes, a man who has been married for 17years reported his wife to the police when he discovered that his three children were not fathered by him. According to the story, he discovered this when he followed the advice of his friend to carry out a DNA test before processing documents for their relocation to the USA. They had the children after their eight years in marriage.

The man is suing the wife for deceit and extortion. He said the wife subjected him to taking care of children for another man. If only he knew he should blame your sperm. So, this brings me to the point of asking,

Online Side Hustles are popular right now. It’s almost like the rave. For those of you who don’t know what a side hustle is, it’s those tasks and activities people do in their spare time to make extra money. From driving for Bolt or working a second job or starting a blog or YouTube channel. These days making money outside of your primary job is an alternative revenue stream.

Thou side hustles are the raves, not all of them are created equal; some are time-wasting and some aren’t. Side hustles come in two different forms: digital/online and real life.

It is generally understood that real-life side hustles are those activities that get you out of the house tend to pay a little better, while digital/online gigs are more accessible. I will be introducing you on how to make money online as a side gig or another revenue stream. We all have heard of the saying, Money must be made. For those of you who don’t want to leave the house, this is mostly for you. Those side hustles that require your physical presence will be covered in a future article.

10 Inspiring Online Side Hustles When You Have No Job 1
Have you seen ads like this? “Work from home and make [a huge amount of money] every month!” As an undergraduate, I probably clicked on most of these ads. There was nothing more than to stay at home and let the easy money from the internet roll in for a good life. The most unfortunate thing here was that the more ads I clicked, the more angry and frustrated I became. My dream of the baby boy’s life was quickly being killed.

Data entry requires very little specific training, so it’s fairly easy to get started. There’s no ramp-up time and no need for prolonged training, which isn’t always compensated.

You can just plug in and go. It doesn’t require any type of educational or professional background. This makes it accessible to pretty much anybody interested in working online.

For all of these reasons, data entry has become some sort of “holy grail” for the person who’s new to the idea of working from home and not sure where to start or what all is out there.

eBay

eBay
Selling your stuff gets rid of clutter and puts a little more cash in your pocket. The most popular websites to sell on are eBay and Craigslist, but there are many different niche apps and websites for selling specific items, like electronics or women’s clothing. You can even have the mail person pick up your stuff, so you don’t have to leave the house.

Those are the only reliable ways to make money online that require no skill that I know of. Fortunately, if you have some skills or abilities, there are many more options available to you.

Romance / My Attempted Rape Experience And Why I Think All Rapists Are Mentally Sick by Pricelessfina(f): 7:18am On Jan 01, 2020
I visited him at his office one weekend. It was a Saturday and he had some stuff to tidy up. When I came, the plan was to wait for him till he locks up for the day then we would hang out. I was at the reception room waiting for him, making snapchat videos as per baby girl that I am. Dude finished locking up, came and joined me. We talked for a while before I suggested that we should start going. He said we are not leaving until I kissed him. I laughed thinking he was joking. I stood up, he dragged me back forcefully and insisted that I kiss him. I scolded him for that and the next thing that happened made my feet freeze. He grabbed me, held me against the wall, and tried forcing his lips on mine. I had no idea where the rage came from – like, how was it possible that this cool dude suddenly turned into a monster?

I tried fighting him but failed – I was too small for him. Aside from that, he had already given me a sound slap that sent me flying to the other end of the room.

“Small girl like you, you are taking me for a ride. I am having sex with you today whether you like it or not” – those were his exact words. My heart began beating so fast – the more I tried to fight him off, the more beating I received. He smashed my phone so I would not be able to call anyone. I tried to escape but he had locked everywhere. The tears came freely; hot liquid trickled down my legs.

Romance / The Brief Intercourse I Had With My Departing Roommate by Pricelessfina(f): 7:07am On Jan 01, 2020
“Ann, where are you? Come and help me pack joor!” my roommate yelled over the phone.

“I will be back soon, I just stepped out to get some fresh air”, I paused. “I needed it”. And honestly, I did. I couldn’t continue staying in the room with her, watch her pack her stuff. We spent 365 days together and the thought of her leaving made me so anxious and sad. God! I was going to miss her. We have created a lot of memories together and throughout yesterday evening, I kept replaying them in my head, – the laughter, the fights, challenges faced but most especially, the love shared. She would be gone in a few hours; would I be able to cope with her absence?

As usual, it an exciting read.

Career / Some Life Lessons Filmmaking Process Teaches Us by Pricelessfina(f): 6:31am On Nov 07, 2019
If you have been a frequent reader in this blog then you probably know how passionate I am about filmmaking. It is a craft I don’t joke with. If I am moody and you want to get me talking, just bring up “Film” as a topic for discussion and watch my face lit up. That’s how much I love the craft.

This is my first year as a filmmaker and with the little experience I have had, I think the process of making films teaches us many essential components of living a good life. Like, there are so many life lessons filmmaking teaches us. I know you are not a filmmaker and you are wondering why the heck you are still reading this.

Chill, you don’t have to be a filmmaker to understand this post. Even though you are not a filmmaker, don’t you love watching movies? Don’t you want to know what the process is like? And how these processes are similar with our everyday life? And the lessons it teaches us? I know you want to know, so, here we go!

First, filmmaking teaches us how to break our huge goals into smaller parts and complete each part in an orderly way.

Recently, I told some friends about my plans on making a documentary. That’s like one of my 2020 projects. Now, this is a very huge goal as far as I am concerned but it is not something I will just jump into without making the necessary preparations. For every filmmaker out there, making a film often starts as an idea; it is now left for the filmmaker to break down that idea into series of actionable steps so that the idea can become a reality. From writing the script, to doing a storyboard or shot list, then hire crew, scout for locations, etc. The process is a very long one and that is how it is in real life.

Romance / Let’s Talk About Pussy Farts; The Music From A Lady’s Honeypot During Sex by Pricelessfina(f): 12:05pm On Nov 04, 2019
Imagine being with your man in the other room, grinding together. His dick seems to be hitting the right spot, and you just can’t stop moaning. At that moment, nothing else matters. You guys are lost in your little world. “I love you baby”, “Bleep you babe”, “Damn!” – you can’t stop saying those words. Then all of a sudden, your pussy makes this weird sound. You guys ignore it and he continues thrusting you passionately, turning you around to achieve any style.

Then it comes again, this time around, it is thunderous – like a raging hurricane – “Kpra, kpra, kpra”. And no, it is not something you can even help. The farts just keep coming, not from your ass but your pussy. Do you know how awkward that experience can be? Especially if your man has no idea what is going on.

Dude might even get upset that you are deliberately farting in the middle of a hot passionate sex. How do you explain to him that the fart is just your pussy proclaiming her existence and how much she is enjoying having a dick inside? Like how?

I remember when I first had this “Pussy fart” experience. Just in the middle of a really hot and romantic moment, my pussy suddenly started making this weird noise. I couldn’t contain the embarrassment mehn! Like, I knew this was not an ordinary fart from my ass, where else was the sound coming from? And to make matters worse, I couldn’t control it. Like for five seconds my pussy transformed into a ranging hurricane.

Career / Success Does Not Happen Overnight, Let That Sink! by Pricelessfina(f): 9:24am On Oct 01, 2019
I was actually chatting with a friend yesterday night. It was an interesting chat because, well, we were talking about filmmaking and all. While chatting, he mentioned something about an EP jumping on a film project once the script is good. And then it hit me, my next reply was, “Remember when I asked you the meaning of EP? That was November last year. I had no idea who an EP was or what the person does”. Of course, he remembered and we laughed over it.

It actually got me thinking. Honestly, there are times I feel stuck in this career. Like, I feel as though nothing is working, my mates are shooting some stuffs, making the right connections and all and I am still stuck with clients asking me for scripts but never pay up after the work is done; or even doubting my capability because well, I am just an upcoming, who knows me? I am still stuck trying to get my voice out there; trying all I can to just get myself out there but nothing seems to be working.

Really, sometimes I get tired and wonder if I would even make a name in this career; I get carried away by these thoughts that I forget to realize how far I have come. Like, as at this time last year, I was so clueless about filmmaking. Aside camera, I didn’t know any other equipment. Let’s even forget that. Imagine an EP, ordinary Executive Producer, I had no idea what an EP meant or what the person does. Shey it’s the same me now that is now speaking film language up and down. And I have even shot a couple of short films. Lol, I remember all these and I laugh.

Most times, a lot of us think that we are stuck in a place, that we are not moving forward in life. That nothing is working. It gets you depressed and frustrated. I get that we all want to make it, we all want to blow by all means. In fact, ask an average Nigerian youth what he or she wants right now, the person will just tell you, “I just want to blow abeg. Anyhow, make person just blow”. Everyone of us wants to make it as soon as possible but the universe doesn’t work that way and that’s why a lot of us are depressed; that’s why a lot of us are frustrated.

You see, this journey to success is a very slow one. Really slow that if you don’t have the patience to follow through and enjoy every moment, you will seriously lose your sanity over it. Seriously, I have decided to just chill and let events play out on their own. I would just do the little I can and leave the rest for the universe. I can’t kill myself. I am tired of the constant headaches and nightmares because I usually over think issues and then get scared of the future.

You think you are not moving forward in life? Pause and think about where you were or what you knew few months back. Think of the opportunities that have come your way that you have benefitted from. As long as you are constantly doing something to achieve whatever dream you have, there is no way you will be stuck. Just know that. You may not be where you want to be now but you are certainly not where you used to be.

The process is slow, obviously and you really can’t have everything figured out at once. Move at whatever pace you can, stop thinking so much about the future.

See eeh, if high blood pressure kills you, life would go on; people would continue having sex, partying, having babies, and practically enjoying life. So chill sweetheart, trust me, the journey is worth it. All you have to do is to be patient and trust the process. Celebrate each milestone you achieve no matter how small.

Success doesn’t happen overnight, after all.

Romance / Re: A Heartfelt Letter To My Future Husband And Big Baby by Pricelessfina(f): 12:58am On Sep 14, 2019
Lol, oya na shoot your shot well.
Romance / A Letter To Period; The Curse Dealing With All Humans With Vagina by Pricelessfina(f): 12:56am On Sep 14, 2019
Dear Period,

You visited me for the first time when I was 15. I welcomed you with open arms. I was excited to have you in my life. Before you came, I couldn’t wait to be like my peers; I couldn’t wait to start using tampons and pads. Having you in my life meant I was now a full-fledged woman, “a grown-up”. But over the years, our relationship had really turned sour. I am literally tired of you. You visit me whenever you feel like each month and expect me to just accept you. You don’t even care that I have to clean your mess. It’s so much work taking care of you. And so much money. I have to pay for the tampons and pads to deal with the mess you make. All these for what? A punishment for not being pregnant?

Seriously, period, the relationship we are in is not healthy. I mean, you put so much effort into making us work but the only reason I am in this relationship is because of my gender status. Don’t you get tired? Tired of forcing yourself on me.

You visit without warning and I am tired of it. You either leave me with no time to prepare at all or you keep me marinating in my anxiety until you show up. Each month, almost all females have a countdown of your arrival and this is because you always come unexpectedly and sometimes even after counting properly, you still come too early or very late. Why can’t you just call or text me prior to your arrival? All I get is an occasional pain in my lower abdomen and then you come – it’s like a bloodbath no matter where I am, whether at work, on the street, on a film set, at a seminar or film festival. You are just ruthless. Seriously, would humans lay eggs if you announce your visits to me beforehand? Like, “Hey Ann, remember I came on the 7th of last month, I will be here around the same day this month, be ready”.

Are we going to talk about your friends, mood swings and cramps that you pick on your way? Mood swing is so proud and mannerless. It doesn’t even care where I am or who I am with. I can just go from being so excited and full of energy to being sad and depressed; I can go from being a nice girl to a bitch you just want to get rid of. Like, my emotions are usually all over the place.

And then the cramps. Damn it period! It’s like a punishment for everything I did when you were not around. You poke your head in-between my legs and then go, “Oh, Ann had ice cream, chocolates, drinks, sweet, junks – hey cramps, come over and deal with her”. The flesh-eating abdominal pain comes along, radiating into my back, sometimes my legs and waist, leaving me curled up in bed. Period, seriously, how fair is that? Don’t you want me to be happy and productive? Why can’t you just let me go about my business, hustle in peace without feeling like there is a bag of rice on my waist or constantly worrying over whether or not I am stained? All these trouble and pains because I have boobs and a vagina?

Thank you dear
Romance / A Heartfelt Letter To My Future Husband And Big Baby by Pricelessfina(f): 3:16am On Jul 25, 2019
Dear future husband;

I don’t know what you look like but I’d like to imagine that you are a tall, handsome dude with beards to die for.

Ermmm…okay, I am really blushing and grinning real hard at the thought of us spending the rest of our lives together. I know it may not sound logical but you have been on my mind lately. When I think about my future with you, my stomach fills with all the good types of butterflies. I really can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you but before we walk down the aisle, here are a few things I want you to know.

I want you to know that I am happy right now – as an adventurous 22-year-old lady who is currently serving her father’s land while slowly doing everything she can to chase her dreams as a filmmaker. Well, right now I wouldn’t say that I totally love my job because that’s not where I want to be but I love the crazy friends I have and I love my family.

Baby, when we do meet someday, I want you to understand how ambitious I am; how dear my dreams are to me and how I wouldn’t easily give up on them. I know I am gifted and I know it will be totally unfair to just sit with arms folded. Ermm…I am not sure God will be happy with me on the last day if I decide to let his gifts go to waste. So, right now, I am doing all I can to harness these gifts and put my creativity into good use. But that doesn’t mean I will neglect our family. Nah. Everything in life is all about balance. So in as much as I am purpose-driven, our family will also be my priority. With that said, I hope you don’t wake up one day and ask me to give up my job. That will be the biggest joke ever.

I want you to know that I am not a trophy. Nah, I wasn’t raised to just sit and look pretty on anybody’s shelf. I want to have intellectual conversations with you. I want to help you chase your dreams. I want to be your partner, your teammate and not your prize. It is called life partner for a reason. We may complement each other in some aspects, but are equal in every right. We shall both be equal human beings, parents and partners in crime. We are in this together, baby. We will take important decisions together and share as many responsibilities as we can.

Baby, in as much as you will definitely be my soul mate; I hope you will be my libido-mate too. I enjoy sex. Nah, scratch that, I enjoy crazy lovemaking. I love cuddling a lot. I love pre-intimacy.

Literature / If Only We Are Quick To Give Out Compliments; Life Is Not That Hard by Pricelessfina(f): 4:57am On Jul 13, 2019
Lately, I have actually been dropping some of my mean behaviors. Not that I am totally nice now anyway but I have been making conscious effort to be nice to people; not just my friends but total strangers. Months back, I don’t think I actually gave a Bleep about people’s feelings. You tell me how bad my words or actions made you feel and I’d simply roll my eye and kiss my teeth. Like, do I look like I care? Yeah, I think it was one of my major flaws.

I actually have no idea what pushed me to start working on myself; maybe maturity. I realized that just like everyone else, I love to be complimented, so why don’t I give out same compliments to people around me?

You know, sometimes, we underestimate the power of a compliment or a kind word. But truth is, sometimes a kind word is all it can take to save a life. “You are beautiful”, “I love your smile”, “You look good”, “The world is lucky to have you”, when you say some of these words to someone, you might find them simple and ordinary but you have no idea how those so-called simple words can brighten someone’s day.

Romance / Saturday Poll: Dear Guys, Are You A Boobs Or An Ass Guy? by Pricelessfina(f): 8:51am On Jul 06, 2019
I understand that you guys are visual creatures, and if we are being completely honest, you are obsessed with every part of the female body. But somehow boobs and butts catch your attention the most.

While some of you guys are crazy about ass, for some, it's the boobs.

There is this friend of mine that once told me that whenever he is having sex with a lady, and she is riding him with her ass turned towards his face, it wouldn’t be up to a minute, his little man will just spill the sticky love juice.
.
.
So guys, which do you prefer? A lady’s ass or her boobs? Are you the boobs guy or the ass guy?
