I'm not quite sure why you're having this issue as someone who just arrived from Nigeria was able to open an account with Monzo.

Try the Santander Basic current account for international students, it comes with zero monthly fees, you'll get 2 cards (one for your basic account and another for online transactions; the one for online transactions isn't contactless though) but you'll need a status letter from your school in addition to your BRP and passport.

You can also open the Santander essentials current account which comes with a contactless card which can be used for both online and offline transactions but that attracts a monthly fee of £1.

I sorry about that...when opening to Lloyds bank account use Classic account. It is used for international students or Google Lloyds bank classic account.

Fill it online and submit your documents in the office (you will have to book an appointment to submit at their office) take your original documents (brp, passport and bank letter from your school) bank letter should be printed as well.

Once you submit your application online your bank account details will be sent to you including a reference number which will be requested at the appointment.

Note: Make sure the way you wrote your accommodation address tallys with the way it was written in your school letter to your bank (Lloyds bank) if not your bank account will be cancelled and you will have to apply again for another fresh bank account as well as another appointment.

You can't open Barclays Bank account at the moment they are still working on their "system" or "process".

Opening Lloyd's account is straight forward.

Yeah. I did requested for extension which I was given. The extension date was like a month. I was given admission for winter semester this year but because I didnt get an AD I requested for it. Although i still didnt get AD at the time the extension elapsed I had to request for deferment till summer 2020 which I got.

I registered on the new uni-assist portal"my assist" since 25/10/2019 and have been waiting for the activation code on my mail but I haven't seen any, have checked both my spam n I haven't received any.

I have tried to register again with same email but it says ""Email has been used"" which means I ought to have gotten the activation code.

** I have an old uni-assist account just wanted to register n link it to the old one.

House, what can I do to resolve this?? I have written and call them but no response yet.

If they state on the website that they require GRE, then it's so. And they're not the only ones, TUM and Hamburg University also require GRE for some of their courses. You can mail the course coordinator to confirm though.
