For those of you glorifying the Shagari years, you don't remember the massive looting, misappropriation of funds, nepotism, and the electoral fraud that characterized those times... our problems didn't start with Buhari.

The country was already headed for recession (then as now, oil prices had dropped), but Buhari's strong headed policies made things worse. I call it the tightening spiral:

- he wants government fiscal discipline, and to limit importation, since we have fewer dollars from oil
- less government spending and less dollars mean less business
- less business, people get fired, now we have fewer consumers
- fewer consumers mean businesses go bust, meaning less employment
- and so on...

What did USA do during it's depression? Large-scale infrastructure projects to employ people, encouraged farmers, raised tariffs on imported goods to stimulate industry. Basically the same things Buhari tried twice. Unfortunately for Nigeria, our credit's not so great and we don't have an industrial base.

Governance is not a theory .... its fu*king practical... wake up we are not in class room

LOL,

Are we moving forward or backwards as a country? Nature always provide ample opportunity to do it right over and over, but if its all activity and no productivity, nature brings chaos closer and closer.

Life is kind enough,

The gods are not to blame,

Heaven helps those who help themselves.

If we fail, it means we are eternally doomed to activities but no productivity. How many leadership change will bring progress? How many fight will fetch us friendship? How many fragments will give us unity?

How many political slogan will deliver the promise?

Wow.... this is amazing .... lets try a new thing .... lets divide the nation period!!!

This is what happens when you live in a country that share a similar culture and language. A young man like this can never rule a country like Nigeria because everybody is fighting for ethnic superiority. In Nigeria, we all fight for what will benefit our tribesmen not really about what will benefit the country. Until we speak the truth that Nigeria will never be a united country, the better for us and the generation to come. The Yoruba ethnic group are larger than European ethnic groups like Norwegians, swedes, fins, Greeks, welsh, and so on. There is no benefit in living in a large country with many differences. I will rather live in a country with a small population that share a common language, culture that is peaceful and with a prosperous system than a country like Nigeria with large population with many differences whose system has failed overall.

Great write up; as an igbo... i second your opinion

pocohantas:
Oh pls...
So, your wife refuses to cook and you batter her?
What if she died, he will tell his kids he killed her because of food?

Mercy was wrong, but there are ways to resolve issues in a marriage. Physical abuse isn't one of them. I thought men claim to be the logical and saner sex, recent happenings of some, prove otherwise.

Use some self-control and walk out on toxic people with your sanity intact. This story is only relevant because she is still alive.
I hope he is eating enough in Kirikiri?

Stop that; i think the issue is that african women forget their root.... they jump the bandwagon of oyibo wives.. ... am not saying hitting your wife is the way to go, my father never did; i have never too but i guess the reason is that our partners respect the core value of an african woman.

The other day, a lady called out schools who teaches social studies because they said that man is the head of the family; imagine if her daughter grew up with such ideology, can she stay under same roof with a man.

During the time of our fathers, divorce are very negligible, but since we started copying iyibo, our men began to be too fake for everything, our women became slay queen and tweek mama ... divorce just hit 40%.

In my opinion .. i can handle a bad sex but bad food is an abomination in my own world; you cant cook, you be woman?

We are in the men world; no matter how america pushes her equality agenda... military women will not be in an open military combat.

You should defend her not cooking to her busy schedule; i bet you that my wife is more busy that she is; my wife would cancel international engagement that will keep her out on weekends; she rather skip church on sunday to prepare like 5 different meal for the week, knowing that i dont eat outside my home.

Mercy will still hace issues with the next man that she may marry in the future for the same reason.

You are so wrong ....

I for a person... i can tell you that a nigerian president be it an igbo, hausa or yoruba cannot change the standard of my living.... so its not about the leadership of the nation.... ideology like that of Biafra can never be subdued...

As a rich king as my father was, sometimes i imagine why he is bent on igbos nation.... but when he passed on ; i found myself with same burning desire to help to restore that nation.... its more like generational stuff...

I might be in a loss for my properties in Abuja but will see that as an important price to pay on my part.

from the available statistics as presented by this OP, i surmise the Igbos are not "politically savvy" in relation to the other major tribes in Nigeria.

besides, this OP makes PMB's personal preferences to mean Nigeria vs Igbo.
Nigeria is not a tribe, if the Igbos have any problem with the hausa, fulani or any tribe at all, they should coin it and address it properly.

Azuka Onwuka i greet you.

This is a very intelligent write up.

Once upon a time, even up to 2 weeks ago, i supported that the Ibo's should not be allowed to leave the Union. But, after thinking deeply of it, i am in support that they should be allowed to go away.

I came to this conclusion after the unaccountable arrests of drug carriers from the Eastern part of Nigeria. If they were known as Biafran's, the rest of us law abiding Nigerians will not be embarrassed, harassed and even sometimes be killed by those mistaking all of us, and erroneously terming all of us criminals in the Diaspora.

Moreover, there is absolutely nothing the East contributes into the coffers of Nigeria. The little developments in the East, was done from the monies gotten from the oil in the South-South.

The East gets more from Nigeria, than it contributes to Nigeria as an entity. They are short changing us, and i support they should leave peacefully.

Once upon a time, Texas said it was tired of the United States and they left to form a Country. By themselves, they begged to come back to the United States after a few Years.

Let them get their own Country, and let us see how far they will go. But you guys should not behave like Texas, and start begging to come back to Nigeria.

If u watch boxing and good at analysing it, you will know deontey is not a match for A.J .
Deontey is a kid fighter, he hasn't really had a real opponent , A.J will floor him.
My concern was with Klitscko, since this big meat is gone, it is safe to say, A.J got no match in the heavyweight division right now, until someone else comes up...

If am not a boxing lover; i will not leave my family and travel from Mexico to UK just to watch the boxing match; Am one of those that clamour for a real heavy weight division;

AJ needs improvement to his movement off the rope and his jabs (though improved from the last fight) i have followed this dude from his 5th ko.....

I can beat my life savings that klitscko will lose against AJ... the fist are weak and his style is old.... deontay wilder is not super boxer but he has a heavy fist just as AJ but his style to go in dirty maybe good for an experience guy but both AJ and DW inexperienced such i would expect dirty fight ..... in the boxing of dirty fight ... deontay Wilder will Mess AJ up

If AJ must fight him; it must be in Europe not in the US

So happy for AJ, despite being knocked down before, he still fought back and made it 19 wins by TKO! !!!! That's a crazy feat to achieve..... S.Peters has finally been avenged cool

The money might have been stolen by anyone but the most important thing is that the raid is true contrary to what supporters of corruption are trying to push down our throat and based on that, I say kudos to Magu and his team. They started generating a lot of noise without even knowing who is involved just to create the impression that it is not true in the event that one of their "hero's" boys is involved. Some are even asking how efcc got the keys to the building.

Let them keep claiming and denying. But money belonging to the state has been recovered and haters can start with their warped and confused theories to demonstrate their unhappiness.

I don't understand why their is so much effort by suileman and wife to tag this a religious war.

From a physiociogist view their is so much effort to pretend this is not affecting them but on another hand Lizzy spends time on a press conference repeating herself on non-concrete facts as married for 19years and husbands private cheerful giving even to a female he identified as striped and blackmailer.

The whole emergency seminars, pretence dances etc does not translate to calmness but forced pressure.

Oyakhilome was accused of flirting with sinach but never commented, no single thing was controversially linked to them upon all what Nigeria bloggers tried.

The controversy of apostle car in a prostitute possession who is not know to be a needy person is amazing.
How does apostle verify the dealings with questionable characters, dealings that are not performed under church knowledge.

What information or discussion do you have with someone you know to be a prostitute and blackmailer.

Why are all the pieces falling into place, pieces that have been scattered.

People should be careful cos this may also be God exposing apostle I. e if wrong.

David was an example and got punished openly, I worshiped at the assemblies of God Benin, at a time when suileman had no personal church and was going from church ministering.

A little while he was banned from coming to AGC Benin for reasons which wasn't told

1. Am not a fan of Christianity despite being a Christian but knowing how we have been lied to that Jesus is white man with long hair; knowing that Christianity is a scam pisses me off .... Thanks to Catholic church for breeding lies from day one.

2. You mentioned that psychological point of view ; my wife after listening to your comment, as a renowned shrink insists that you are bais in you conclusion citing the fact that your church stopped him from coming to preach....

3. I may accept that there was a contact between the pastor and the girl but the said girl is blowing things out of context

4. If peter can sin by denying Jesus.... Everyone can irrespective of the kind of sin; how we Africans often expect every man of God to live no sin? Peter never stopped being the head of the inner caucus of the deciples despite the sin.

5. So because he has scandal, he should mourn and not dance with the wife bah? If you cannot stand with you in good and bad, then your wife is not worth being one... Mine will die for me wheather for good or bad.

6. If he actually gave the other girl a car and money... Why would they want to cone open since they received rewards for their services .. Ask yourself

In as much as I am not married to to two women but this news got me thinking.

I ask myself why do we often like oyibo ways .... I was at the mexico city airport few weeks ago and a gay guy was trying to touch my son... I got no chills on him.. Some oyibo went asking me, why am I wicked that its their culture and that love is love and that I have to accept that.

I got angry... I told them that no one can push me to accept who or what I don't want ... At a point we started discussing the slogan "love is love"

I told them that its a shame that we as Africans are pushed to accepting their culture but have they ever tried accepting our culture which gives us the moral right to have many wives ? (Polygamy) all the oyibo jump up and said is barbaric ... I called of them hypocrite for doing so but at a point they all kept quiet and see the point.

In a this, my point is very clear, how on earth is marrying two women now a sin in Africa?..... Shame on us ... We must fight to preserve our culture not just on marriage but on other things.

Recently 95% of women believes that white wedding is the legal wedding ....traditional wedding is just a ceremony.... We just love to take white tradition without thinking.

The woman in question is a disgrace to womanhood
