So to the poster, why do you stay with him? I understand you been with him for 5 years but even if you were with him for 20 years don't you feel you deserve better? If you told the man how you feel about him spitting on you and he continued to do it and you chose to stay then I'm afraid to say it but you my dear are the one who needs the counseling. You are the CEO of your life.

Here in the US its called assult to spit on somebody. Have you tried spitting on him? Well if he is real violent that might not be a good idea. Honestly I would leave a man that spits on me after the first time because, I know my worth but thats something you have to figure out.

We have poverty here in America just not to the magnitude as some foreign countries. I kind of think they show us the poverty in other countries to keep us opening our wallets. America is still the biggest contributor to Africa when it comes to sending Aid both our government and Private citizens donate more than any other county in the world.

So my boyfriends birthday is coming up and I am trying to figure out what to buy him. He is always sending me expensive gifts for birthdays, holidays and sometimes just because, I don't want to ask him what he wants because I am kind of hoping to surprise him my limit is 5000 US dollars and I don't want to buy a gift that any man would appreciate. Im no bible scholar nor am I a pastor but from my understanding both daughters became pregnant. However if your wondering if this was acceptable by God then ask your self this. Would the daughters really have to get their father drunk if this was a act acceptable by God? Would the daughters had to have conspire amongst themselves if this was acceptable by God? Why wouldn't they just go to their father while he had a clear head and say I want a child? So Im thinking this is wrong in the eyes of God. Also the bible condemn sex before marriage and I can't remember Lot being married to any of his daughters.

At the beginning of this post the poster said he asked her would he be helping her as a friend or bf, she chose to dance around the question and not give a direct answer when she could of easily said as a friend and this situation would of never been a topic of discussion. Thats why I say she's at fault I am assuming she is a grown woman and I am sure all my fellow adult women know if a man is spending cash on you it can mean a few things either he cares about you as a friend, or he wants a relationship, or he just want sex so when he asked her in the beginning she should of made it clear.

You are right she is left, I get tons of gifts from several guys but I let them know before I accept anything I am not looking for sex or a relationship with them that way its up to them if they want to continue buying gifts. She should of made her intentions a little bit clearer come on now this girl wasn't stupid she knew that you assumed yall were in a relationship so she was going to play it to her advantage to keep getting what she want out of you.

I know this is a late post but I feel you. I have friends that African man offered to pay money to marry them for a green card but none of them ever did it. So I can understand why you asked the question but not all Nigerians are like that.

Yvete: Girl, I was once in your shoes. Met my fiancé on FB (secret - Lied to everyone that we used to be friends way back). I did the trips to Naija thing but Obudu cattle ranch, Radisson blu et al is blahh. I psyched him to come over for a Masters to see how it works for us because I'm willing to move back to Nigeria later, in the future NOT NOW! Honestly, Id move if there's a need to. I refuse to leave my job just like that and ive started working towards my masters too. He finally obliged (whew), applied for study leave, got a students visa ... the rest is history. Yankee living! Looool.

I understand that your BF has more responsibilities as a business owner so he can't leave just like that unlike mine. Well, nothing in life is guaranteed so you might just take a shot at it though I wouldn't until I've applied for jobs and received offers in Nigeria. Let him visit before you relocate. If there's a dire need for you to move, consider all options and make a wise decision. Everyone's situation is different.

I must confess - I kept my options open though nobody clicked like this man.

I don't know about Kenya but the US was a country almost 200 years before Nigeria gained its independents what was it like 50 or 60 years ago when Nigeria became independent? All I am saying is great countries and beautiful cities rarely spring up over night.Im sure with time trial and error Nigeria will be almost or equally as great as these other countries. don't get me wrong now I am very religious however the people of Nigeria need to stop focusing on religious differences cultural and tribal differences and focus more on making Nigeria better for all Nigerians.

This is a sad story Nigerian women/girls need a voice so just because, the fathers friend denied the molestation then she has to suffer the consequences alone SMH! at 16 she shouldn't have been left alone for a long period of time like that anyway.
