TheGoodJoe: Pep did not use the formation in his conquests. He used it in some games. The Back line of Barca was Abidal...Pique..Puyol.. Dani Alves. This was the main back line. Not 3-4-3. I think you should read more on it. The formation is actually difficult to pull off.
You guys cherish arguments here o . Always Talking sport 24/7
My Former Laptop which i abandoned because of battery issue won't power on well with or without battery.
I have tried powering it on with the battery inserted but seems the battery is dead. So, i Connected it to a power outlet without battery it powers on but the screen doesn't show anything then after a minute or two it gives a weird sound like the Fan is trying to start but then the laptop suddenly switches off. I did over and over again with the same thing happening. I want to know if its worth repairing because it was quite expensive when i bought it.
TheGoodJoe: No one is degrading Solanke. He is a promising talent. He can become good. We hope he becomes good.
How can he become good if you want him to feel satisfied with 7 goals in 22 Starts?
He can do better.
We are saying for now, we have young players ahead of him. Solanke should keep working hard to become a top player.
He Plays in a Poor team in a competitive league and scored 7 goals starting 21 games while the team top scorer who started 35 games had 10 goals last season. So his Goal ration is quite impressive for someone who doesn't play for an attacking side
Guys here are trying to degrade Solanke's Achievement and Talent . He is a top talent in England just hasn't been given the Playing time to prove himself by Chelsea.
TheSuperNerd: Looollll... Relax Sir Napoleon.... Relax I have stats for Success and Nacho at U-17 level. There's a reason why even I didn't wanna comment just yet on that post. Let's wait for the Solanke "fan boys" to start the "bragging" drums...
I rate Solanke highly but I'm no "biased fanboy"
I see the Jabs . But how many Goals did He score in competitive games during his stay in the U17s?
Napoleon55: Kelechi Iheanacho scored over 50 goals 4 Nig. u-17,scored about 20 goals since his senior debut 4 both club n country, scored few goals for Man city ED B4 his senior debut. Get ur facts correct b4 someone here starts celebrating Solanke as the more prolific one. Success has also cored over 40 goals 4 Nig. u-17 not just 7 goals as ur statistics shows.
That's why Its called stats not estimation. I gave you all his recorded goals in competitive games. You should provide your sources before disproving mine. Cheers
safarigirl: So, I had an argument with this guy who said we needed Dominic Solanke, I told him our current forward line cannot accommodate Solanke and he began asking me who we have that's better than Dominic. He called Ighalo a one-season wonder, said V Moses has glass legs, Musa is washed up, and he didn't even think Etebo was worth a recognition.
Maybe na me no dey understand, but please, does anyone have stats that prove this Dominic is better than our current options on the forward line or are people still rating him based on English media hype?

Mickael2: in fact if you have ever played football in a tactical level, the first thing they teach you is that once your team is in position. the centre backs should at least be inside the opponents half and that the DMF should be be at the top of their own arc of the centre circle. watch that game again, Onazi didn't cross that spot except the once that he went to take a shot, He only started crossing it after Esiti came on for God's sake
Tell that To Inter or Chelsea Under Mourinho. Cambiasso and Zanetti were ALWAYS defending. @bolded seems you are contradicting yourself
Mickael2: it seems like you know football more than the coaches themselves. whoscored.com records that Kante had played as a DMF 7 times this season and only three times as a Cmf otherwise called the b2b and one of those games was against Arsenal where he was absolutely shocking. please next time, watch the full match not just the highlight, the mere fact that he made forward runs shows that he is not a log of wood, nothing else
We are getting there I thought you said Kante has never "played" as a B2B before? At the bolded. do you really think a CMF is necessarily a b2b . You should try playing Football Manager .
We have different types of Center Midfielders(Position) whose roles differs
1. Central Midfielder 2. Box to Box Midfielder 3. Advanced Playmaker 4. Ball-winning Midfielder 5.Roaming Playmaker 6. Enganche
He reaches the Swansea box and offloads to Vardy, who turns and sets up Mahrez for his hat-trick.
Ranieri said shortly after joining Leciester that he realised he had inherited a group of quality players. "This player Kante, he was running so hard that I thought he must have a pack full of batteries hidden in his shorts," he said.
"He never stopped running in training. I tell him, 'One day, I’m going to see you cross the ball, and then finish the cross with a header yourself". He’s unbelievable."
This surge of energy to set up Leicester's third goal against Swansea came in the 68th minute of the game.
Kante also spends quite a lot of time out on the wing, helping to protect full-backs or after he noticing there's space out wide to be exploited.
Mickael2: the more i read this the more ridiculous it sounds. Onazi played as a a b2b? I will give you the benefit of the doubt though, maybe you watched the match after Esiti came in and Onazi moved into that position, so let me not finish what I wanted to say
Mickael2: Onazi played as a what?! Then what was Mikel doing?! This is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard, my God! So Kante is a box to box midfielder to you?! Why then do people compare him to Makelele? My Christ! I cant believe someone just said this
It seems you are new to the world of Comparison Pogba was compared to Viera even though their playing style differs. Kante Plays as a B2B midfielder just like Matuidi both of them are Like for Like midfielders. That is why he has more interceptions than the Like of stationary DMs in the mould of Busquets and wielg.
If you rewatch the match you will see that Onazi was roaming forward from His Half to the Opponents Half. Which is what a B2B does.
Mickael2: So because he was everywhere that makes him the best player? Chances created, Zero. Long passes completed, Zero, number of successful dribbles zero. Even his pass completion percentage was downright poor and you sadly think he was our best player because he was 'everywhere and never got tired'. The best DMF in the world (for me), Busquets is quite stationary but that's because that's where your DMF should be, sitting infront of your defence not running around like a headless chicken, that's ill discipline.
Omeruo and Ekong's combination was brilliant. It was simply a Puyol-Pique combination. Ekong was charged with winning the aerial balls and playing the ball out of defence and Omeruo did the dirty work, that combo was brilliant. I agree with everything else though
You know people will take your stats seriously when you start being sincere. Comparison to Busquets is a lame attempt to discredit him as Onazi Played as a Box-Box Midfielder that day. Is Kante a DM or B2B midfielder? if you can answer that then we can have a discussion.
As well as comparing Iwobi to his uncle Okocha and Davids, Ozil also insists that the Nigerian 20-year-old is strong in all departments of his game. He reminds me of his uncle, Jay-Jay Okocha,' Ozil told Arsenal Player. 'He was a player I loved watching. Alex reminds me of a mixture of him and Edgar Davids. 'He's really strong on the ball, also defensively, but he's good in front of goal too. 'He knows exactly what he can do. He isn't scared and doesn't hide on the pitch. He just wants to have fun playing football and that really shows on the pitch, and also in training.
Iwobi has been an integral part of Arsenal's in form attacking line-up so far this season 'He's developing really well and if he continues the way he's been playing the whole season, he will really enhance his game. 'The manager knows exactly how good he is and I wish him all the best. He is really young and is on a really good path.'
TheGoodJoe: So what is your problem in what I said? I did not bring Nwobodo into the topic. Someone pointed how strong we were with Iwobi, Iheanacho and Mikel combining makes us strong. When I was watching the match, I thought do we have another player who can play wide and like Iwobi. Not just a winger.
I think it was goldfish80 that pointed at Nwobodo. It clicked. If we want to play that way, Nwobodo can add to it.
So what is the problem? It was a brilliant suggestion that someone feels Rohr should look into. He did not say we must play that way against Algeria or that should be our style.
So please tell me what the problem is? I was explaining his suggestion.
I thought you said he should start against Algeria . No Problem with that then
goldfish80: I had to comment when I saw this. Obinna Nwobodo has never ever ever played as a deep lying midfielder. Christian Madu is Rangers deep lying midfielder or Emeka Eze. Nwobodo formed an attacking quadruple with Clement, Aguda, Egbuchulam which was called the "CANE ". Any human being who has watched Nwobodo play will not even try to question his abilities. The sort of goals and assists he bagged this past season will leave you gasping for breath. Type on YouTube enugurangers and watch highlights of their games this last season. You will understand why the noise about Obinna Nwobodo's genius. Had it been he was Brazilian, playing for Corinthians. Man city, Barca and Real Madrid would have been outdoing each other to get him for £40m.
On his role in this team, I think Barcelona and Spain has proved to the world that technically gifted players can be integrated into a team and the balance of play won't be affected. I think Nigeria missed a trick in the late 90s and early 2000's with continuous benching of Oruma. Its a pity our coaches believed that only one no 10 can play at a time. Had it been we had creative thinkers in our national team management then, they would have found a solution to play Oruma, Kanu and Jay Jay in midfield, just like Spain used Alonso, Busquests, Xavi and iniesta in their golden generation. Integrating Nwobodo, Iwobi, Mikel, Iheanacho in this team will be quite close to the Spanish team that dominated the world and Europe.
Well his wikipedia page diasgree. Rangers FC After signing for Rangers International Football Club, Obinna was promoted straight into the first team within a matter of weeks. He was handed his preferred number 8 shirt and registered as a central midfielder. He was described as possessing an unusually-high tactical awareness, good passing range and the ability to pass and shoot with either of his feet. Rangers fans were excited to watch one of Nigeria's U-17 and U-20 players who is comfortable in the deep-lying playmaker role or regista and has been compared to Xavi and Riquelme by followers of the youth teams due to his early success.
Mickael2: i disagree with your last sentence. I will start Enyeama any day any time, why? It's not just about the shot-stopping abilities, rather the way he coordniates the defence. Ikeme was not instructing anybody at all, that was why most times our full backs were unaware, as a GK you shout at your defenders, make them aware of the opposing players presence and I would fancy Enyeama to even keep out that goal they scored sef, so Enyeama anyday of the week abeg. Not to mention that he is our captain afterall.
Okay, i am allowed to be carried away by his exploits yesterday , But Enyeama has been in the National Team since 13 oor 14 years, I am sure Ikeme would have such presence too had he been here for that Long.
TheGoodJoe: I pointed out when Iniesta plays on the wing. Same with Silva. When you play Neymar in the team, he is not in a midfield set up but a forward set up. That is a 4-3-3. Not a compact 4-5-1 formation. Iwobi plays more of a midfield game than an all out winger or a wing forward. It is a similar role I expect Iwobi to play in such set up.
I also pointed out is the strategy that matters.
When Man City sets up with Silva and Nasri wide, they play with the central midfield players to control the game.
When was the Last time Silva played wide for man city and Spain, Last Season Navas and sterling were the Wide Players and both were Wide Wingers. Though I understand Your Point about Iniesta and Silva Playing out wide but Barca Played a False Nine so crossing the ball wouldn't be an option.
Like it or not even the experiment with iniesta and silva as wide playmakers failed at Barca(2012-2013) and Spain(Euros) that was why Barca had to change to inverted wingers with Neymar and Messing cutting in.
I would agree that i havent watched much of Nwobodo I dont its wise playing him as a wide Playmaker against an african side . We should use the African way create one on one sittuation with their fullbacks.
We already have Iwobi who is our wide playmaker it wouldnt hurt too much to have an inverted or conventional wingers
TheGoodJoe: That was before Obinna Nwobodo joined Rangers. He plays a more creative role now.
That still doesn't mean we shoe-horn him into the wings when we have Better Options.
1. If Ighalo is Available he Starts though his Link-up play is Top Notch. 2. Any of The Moses Will do. 3. I dont see Mikel getting benched but he isnt getting required minutes to stay match fit for Club. 4. Onazi has Merrited a starting Place. 5. Ndidi haven't seen much of him apart from that Game yesterday so can't say much. 6. Wouldn't bench Ikeme even if Enyeama was available on Current Form.
Its Funny how people are suggesting Nwobodo who Is a deep-lying Playmaker should be used as a winger. Its like saying Pirlo or a Regista like Busquets should play as a winger. This a Youtube Video of him.
lakesidepapa: We can make 3points out of the game against that Algerians team in Kaduna, our full backs problem just need to be sorted out. I'm looking forward for I Success to join the team and put Simon out of bay likewise like Moses, we need these duo. The hullabaloo should be settled.
Currently, Only V.Moses would make our First 11 as I think Rohr Fancies Ighalo a lot because of his Hold-Up Play. Success as an impact sub though In our 4-2-3-1
zoboizee: @princesuko U r very correct. No similarity at all.
In our match against zambia, ndidi had good positioning, passing range & recovery, so he was spared to last in the match. If a poor player had played that rytback probably there would had being a penalty. He was very clean in marking even though he got dribbled severally. He was always closing the space & neatly chasing the opponent without any reckless foul. Just watched Algeria vs Cameroon. One thing i was impressed with it was the way the cameroonians closely & neatly mark the Algerians. My major concern is Echiejile. Personally speaking without disrespecting him, lowest amongst the leftback we have had since the 90's. He leaves so much space btw him and the person he is marking all the tym. And get dribbled easily at the slight move. His positioning is always suspect when marking & his crosses are totally offish. Have seen the like of bolasie & makandjo turn him to shreds & i pity him marking mahrez with his skill & pace.
To be honest, i was scared of the attacking prowess of the Algerians but after watching how the Cameroonian's 4-4-1-1 made them look average. I fancy Nigeria taking 4 points off them.
Edit: Not worried about Mahrez he seems like a One Trick Pony that has been found out
