Mcy56: You will get. First Registrar is up to date....and like Pa Emma and Rebekah said, close of register is a range of dates, enough to get record of all qualified investors. Pls try and come here to confirm if you receive it once paid. It will help us put some of the arguments here to rest. They're paying on the 30th I think. ok...I will do that...thanks |

Mcy56: Welcome back sir Loco. Concerning buying on qualification date or not, just know that whosoever buys on last day of qualification will qualify for dividend just like Exlaidback said. I however do not doubt your claim that someone may not get when some registrars are involved. You should understand that "Change" is something that's difficult for some people to embrace, they are used to their old ways of doing things, they are somehow comfortable with it and very reluctant to embrace new innovations........this is the case with some registrars, some are so backward. So also some brokers. See the case of Cashcraft, they are big with large customer base. They ought to be among the first set to introduce and embrace digital form of trading but they chose to remain analogue despite the huge risk digital poses to them.....today, they are losing customers. I mentioned few days ago that I sold my fcmb before markdown simply because I don't want Cardinalstone wahala. They'll still insist that you must submit e-dividend form to their office nearest to you when others are processing scanned copy send to them via mail seemlessly. In essence, buying on last day of qualification should automatically qualify such buyer for dividend but Registrars names must be put into consideration before doing so......that's my little contribution. Chai!! Me self don write epistle. Make Una no vex. thanks |

locodemy: You said well. We have different registrars and their various patterns. while some are moving forward, some are moving backward. Investors should always seek the opinion of registrars before buying or selling stocks for dividend purposes. thanks |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Princkez: 2:46pm On Apr 24, 2020 |
locodemy: was 20th qualifying or markdown date?
You can consult them to know if they observe the T+3 rule. If they do,if monday 20th April was qualifying date, you will not get it 'cos the shares will reflect on the registrars record on the 23rd of April.
This is the reason why many ask questions on why they have not seen their dividend. The registrars need to address this issue so that people will know when to invest for dividends and when not to invest. qualification date |

Mcy56: I read the post before replying you now. It was just an assumption, which could have gone the other way. Anyway, it changes nothing from my view of Fbnh, bargain hunters will wait at the right junction. thanks |

Mcy56: Hmmm. So why didn't you mention this before close of market? Thought some people here says coys will roll out poor Q1? Expecting good Q1 from Zee too. Bargain dreamers should keep on dreaming. remembered our discussion this morning....that was when I made the decision

Mcy56: Not saying fbnh is not good for pick, but buying today. Not saying those inside the bus should sell either, they recorded inproved performance so far. I may be wrong cos the moneybags may show to move the price before end of today's market. I also have small units and considering selling if they keep dragging the price backward. I understand what you are saying...But I missed UBA below #6 before markdown now see the price after markdown... |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Princkez: 10:39am On Apr 20, 2020 |
Mcy56: You will get if you buy today but I will advice you dont buy it again. Some people got into the bus at below 4. Look for other ones and if you must buy, buy after markdown, not saying tomorrow.
PS: This is my personal opinion. Also, Mr. Market has a mind of its own. have you considered what their q1 2020 will look like...remember full year 2019 NPL ratio is below 10%...q1 2020 result might send the price above #5...just my personal view, thanks |

seyisanya: Abeg, if you didn't sell at a loss, no need to regret anything. Many opportunities are still available in the market. I remembered when I said I was going to buy WAPCO at sub N9, earlier this year, I received e-stones on my head. Eventually, we joined the bus between 8.66 and 9.00. No one can predict the market. Own your decision and move on! thanks...just about 10% of what I have,90% still intact |

Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Princkez: 10:25am On Mar 26, 2020 |
safepaulooo: Humanity is fighting war on two fronts, COVID 19 and hunger. The decision of UBA to postpone AGM because of COVID 19, thereby holding onto highly needed dividend funds is a decision that fights a war on one front rather than the two fronts currently on ground. People need money to survive the impact of health crisis. So this is no time to lock up much needed funds. If people don't get the funds they need, you end up killing them by subjecting them to hunger. GTB bank has implemented a sound measure of organising a controlled AGM where shareholders can attend either by proxy or online hookup and it caters for the double-fronted war. UBA needs to emulate this as a matter of URGENCY. Organize a controlled AGM and pay out dividends immediately otherwise you could have blood on your hands soonest. true talk brother |
