Ibadan is a latter town made up of different Yoruba tribes. And what Yoruba sub-clans are these? |

1. Soak in boiling water for at least 2 hours (preferably over a period of 24 hours) beforehand.
2. Wash the rice thoroughly once that time’s elapsed until the rice water’s perfectly clean.
3. Transfer the rice to a pot and put boiling water to the same level as the rice and add a bit of butter/Blue Band margarine.
4. Cover with aluminium foil and cook on the lowest heat. |

Konquest: ^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^ Someone I knew back in my undergraduate days in Nigeria had "Okoro" as his surname. He was a full-blooded, pounded yam-loving Ekiti guy!
Okoro has something to do with "bitterness" according to the Ekiti version. Urhobos also bear Okoro as surnames. Oko has something to do with "man" in Itsekiri and Urhobo.
On the other hand Itsekiris use the spelling : Ogedegbe! In other parts of Yoruba, Ogedengbe with a letter "n" is used.
Itsekiris also use Omatsola, Omawumi etc. Omosola and Omowumi are the Yoruba equivalents.
Itsekiri language is classified as Eastern Yoruboid just like the Ondo state sub groups.
All the best. What can you tell me about Ekiti/Ondo names in general? Ayekoloye in particular. |

bigfrancis21: Nothing is wrong with Imo state. Among different tribes, people have their limited preferences. Within the Yorubas or Hausas or Urhobos or Igbos, a certain sub-set might want to stay within their set and not marry from another sub-set. Within Igbos, such limited boundaries exist but are not entirely limited to the Igbos but amongst other races as well. Even among whites here in the US, those from the North feel uppity and superior to Southern Whites and often do not like to intermarry etc. Most white US presidents have notoriously been from the North and presidential candidates from the South often have that stigma to battle against. Everything’s wrong with ndi Mbaise/Owere. You wouldn’t want to pick a wife from there yourself would you Franky. |

Does asusu Igbo proper only extend to generic Anambra/Imo state dialects? That’s most of Enugu state written off at the bare least in that case. |

prolog3111: For your info, the meaning of dialecte is language without a writen dictionnary, most nigérians don't know this. You all believe a dialecte is a sub language of an other language. There is no such thing as dialecte of igbo. There is igbo language and there is Enuani language and other languages. Keep repeating your lie and pray it becomes true. In reality you are only trying to force your identity upon others. Shame. Show me where Enuani’s defined as anything other than a pure Igbo dialect. |

prolog3111: The name is Asaba, not ndi asaba and their language is Enuani, not enuani igbo. Stop trying to force Igbo identity upon others. For your info, before colonisation they were part of Benin Kingdom. Not ndi whatever. Whatever about Ukwuani and Ika but Enuani’s seen as a pure Igbo dialect (not even igboid). Whatever about political identity but as far as linguistics go they’ve no grounds for Igbo denial. Fact. End. |
