Doubleoh7: Not joking. Lionesses are the hunters. If nairaland were a flexible site, would have shared few clips of lionesses dealing with lions. Same thing that was portrayed in lion king movie, the lionesses are the main warriors of the pride. They are the ones that teach the young ones how to hunt. Lions usually don't join in hunting but will be the first to come chase off everyone to feed Please stop joking around. No lioness can fight off a male lion except that male lion is a juvenile. That the lionesses are the main hunters for food doesn't make them stronger than the male. The job of providing food in the lion kingdom is that of the lionesses unless the prey is too tough for the lionesses to handle, that's when the male steps in. Watch when the male comes around feeding ground, the whole female leave the table for him to feed. If the female are stronger, how come the male chases them off the kill? You need to expand your knowledge of the animal kingdom. |

Johnrake69: Nigeria might actually have more than 150M people in extreme poverty.
The problem with many of us is that we view Nigeria from the top. Where you see people spending money on social media.
In 2013 when I left school I got a job where I was paid 24K. Sometimes I have to trek from Oshodi under bridge to inside Ilupeju just to save #50 for Keke and I will be sweating. When it’s time for breakfast I will skip then I will wait till 12pm or 1pm before I eat so it can take me home. My point here is that Nigerians living under this conditions are in their majority till this day.
In the course of doing business I have seen what extreme poverty looks like in places like Benue, Taraba, Cross River.
Majority of the villages in Boki LGA in Cross River have never had access to electricity, then clean water is luxury. They don’t even know what it means to shout up Nepa. Let me break this done to you. The UN is using their own yardstick to decide what is poor and what's not. Majority of the people making up the UN are from a region where capitalism reign supreme. Where it takes at least $5-$10 to get a good meal, but somewhere in Nigeria or Uganda, with $1-$2, you will get a solid balaced meal with all the complete nutrients in them. So it's easy to think those who feed with $1-$2 per meal are extremely poor when you judge them with what someone in Switzerland is expected to spend on an average balanced meal. I do not judge poverty through the eyes of the UN or the West, i judge it based on what you're getting as value compared to the strength of your own currency. Electricity should not be used to judge who's poor or not, do you know that there are rich men who build houses that are almost 100% natural? Do you know that there are more healthy people in the villages than the cities? Do you know that there are more older people in rural areas than urban areas? Why so? Shouldn't the poor people in the villages and rural areas be dying like flies (Before 40yrs)? Whereas its the people we see as not poor that are dying before 50. Poverty using the eyes of the privileged can't be accurately defined. |

Johnrake69: Ordinarily I wouldn’t have responded to you but it will be unfair to allow you wallow in ignorance here is the report 7months ago. Till date Nigeria has nothing less than 130M people living in multidimensional poverty.
https://nairametrics.com/2022/11/17/133-million-nigerians-are-multidimensionally-poor-nbs/?amp=1
You never responded to the logic behind the current policies which is the core message. So tell me, why should I believe that 130M are in multi-whatever - poverty when UN said it's 70M people? What can be worst than extreme poverty? BTW, poverty is a broad word and doesn't have to be lack of money or whatever. So I want to believe the multi dimensional poverty you're talking about here includes 'illiteracy, mental poverty, intellectual poverty, moral poverty or does the "multi dimensional poverty" not cover these ones? BTW, I am not surprised with the policies, there has never been a government in Nigeria that was better than the previous one, so expecting some sort of a miracle means you can be deceived easily. |

Johnrake69: By the end of the year another 50M people would have joined the 130M number of extremely poor Nigerians.
The Voodoo Economics of APC is mind boggling. 200% increase in fuel, Tuition fees for University students, 7.5% vat in AGO and PMS, 40% hike in electricity cost. When we already have over 130M in multi dimensional poverty. How will this bring people out of poverty? Massive reduction of the people’s purchasing power is never a good thing especially when the money will be stolen by few people in government.
These massive hike will definitely impact on economic activities negatively.
As you’re complaining of poor wages, your Employer could be contemplating on reducing the number of workers under their employment.
And we’re making excuses for them. Next will be health. FG will say they can’t find public hospitals again. And I wonder what they would fund aside from their luxurious lifestyle.

Well… The question is will you be alive to witness the better tomorrow with this level of economic hardship? Time will tell. How do you guys manufacture stats like this? Just yesterday, it made homepage here that we have 70M people living in extreme poverty, within 24hrs, you have increased it to 130M people. https://www.nairaland.com/7732935/over-70m-nigerians-extremely-poor Do you people get high with bad news? Tiopii: Russia is fighting Ukraine, not the 36 countries you like to mention. Ukraine doesn't have the mastery and experience those nations possess.
Your map was updated 30th September, 2022. you have refused to be updated with present realities of war, so you judgment is lacking new info.
The sanctions on Russia isn't even up to 50. And you're claiming thousands, you have decided to follow lies, and it's fine. Your emotions or expectation isn't affecting the war.
You are focused on what should be, I'm telling you what is.
The US is spending Billions of dollars, while Russia is spending Thousands of Naira abi?? You're not very smart.a You can keep lying to yourself if it makes you happy. Every sane human out there knows that Russia is fighting NATO and its allies using Ukraine as the battlefield. Started since 2014 and not a year ago. You just keep lying, from saying Russia is not controlling up to 20 % of Ukraine's land to saying Sanctions on Russia is not up to 50. Let me post from a pro-NATO media house again called BBC what Russia is controlling. (A week ago) Remember that since they're for NATO and Ukraine, 50 % of their news would be in favor of their favorites (Ukraine/NATO). The sane world knows that Bakmut is not controlled by Ukraine. My last on this. Enjoy your delusions.

Tiopii: Russia had already taken the 25% before NATO started transferring arms to Ukraine after Russia denied that they would be invading Ukraine, there was no defensive fortifications anywhere in Ukraine, and since NATO support came, Russia lost more than half putting into consideration the present probing offensive. since NATO came into play, your almighty Russia captured only Bakmut after over 7 months, and that was the period Ukraine sent their troops to NATO countries to be trained.
Now they are back in Ukraine, Russia has been in the defensive ever since.
Like I said don't put the same expectations you would have on the US on Ukraine.
if you want to troll, atleast do it intelligently.. So what is the percentage of the land still in Russian possession after all the billions of dollars, weapons, manpower and trainings given to Ukraine by 30+ NATO countries with 'Almighty' US as their leader against one country? (+ Thousands of Economic, financial, social and political sanctions) Shame no dey catch you as slickers of the west? Should any land even be taken by Russia with almost 36 countries fighting directly/indirectly against them? The image is from a pro-west news media

Foreign Affairs › Re: Putin Tells West 'go To Hell' In The Wake Of Nuclear Weapons Transfer To Belarus by Procashtips(m): 10:26am On Jun 19, 2023 |
Tiopii: It isn't up to 20% anymore.
Let me explain something to you, on the issues of Western weapons.
If you buy 2 cars for tow different people, One runs at 200km/h(CarA) and the other runs at 320Km/hr(Car B).
if the owner of Car A has been using the car for over 100years and the owner of Car B hasn't used the car for up to 2 years and you decide to make them race.
Car B is the better and faster car, but because of Mastery Car A is the favourite. But you can't rule out Car A cos it got the better car, but now Car B works with the best car repairers and upgrades. The difference between both car would reduce and put car B in a more favourable position to win the race, while also disrupting the ability of Car A to effectively repair and upgrade itself.
That's how the war is at the moment. Car B would only get better as long as it's gets the best repairs and upgrades, while Car B would have issues as long as it's ability to repair and upgrade itself is disrupted. What is causing the disruption are the sanctions.
Because Ukraine are using the US weapons doesn't automatically makes the US or put them at the level of the US. Ukrainians are learning on the job. so you have to commend them.
Ukraine don't occupy 20% of Ukraine's territory, at their peak they occupied about 25% and have lost half of the territories they once occupied. make your research. Just inagine what you're saying. Your argument is about the percentage and not that they didn't take Ukrainian lands even with 30+ backers for Ukraine? Meen.. |

Vl3ly: About 40 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered today. This is the most massive case of surrender in one day in recent months.
According to the West, the growing losses in the Zaporozhye region and the fact that the soldiers began to realize that there was no chance of winning a large-scale offensive in the next few days began to affect. Have always advised the wise ones amongst them to quickly surrender once they're forced into battle. |

Must our leaders sell us so cheap?
If we don't elect the right people, the West will always exploit us.
Check the history of the British Empire. China and India were exploited far more than the British than Africa.
Yet, are these countries not stronger than the UK today? The leaders that didn't sell you were removed or killed. They use their media to paint the good leaders as demons and dictators, then sponsor some of the citizens to cause crises before they come in with the "freedom and democracy" to finish such leader/country. Read my brother, history is there to answer you. The countries you listed have citizens that supported their good leaders when these same Western world came with their usual mantra, they shut out their lies. Una dey support una good leaders? Una dey persevere when tough decisions are made to make your country better? Nobi una dey always complain at any inconvenience from a new policy that's to make your country strong? The right people you had, what did you do with them? You never supported them until they had to fall in line as usual, you called them bad names and followed the normal route. BTW, what is your definition of a good leader? Give examples with other leaders around the world, but make sure you know the history of the so called good leaders around the world you're to use as an example. |
