HealthRe: Doctors In The House, Pls Help Me Analyze This Sperm Count Result by prof800(m): 12:08pm On Nov 04, 2014
juwoonn:
Total sperm count: 58.3%
Abnormality: 38%
Active: 40%
Sluggish: 20%
Dead: 40%
Volume: 2mls
Appearance: Grey white
Consistency: Normal
Odour: Normal

Is 58.3% good enough. 40% dead.... Na wa o! Thinking of using manix to boost the count.

Zinnat recommended after culture.

Pls my competent nairaland docs, what do u think?
Do you have children?

If yes then you don't have to worry.

If not then a 38% abnormality with 40% dead is not so good.

That doesn't mean you can't fertilize your woman because the result might have been affected by a number of factors.

E.g Did you ensure to abstain from any form of sexual activity 3 days before producing the sample? Did your pathologist supervise the production or was it CI?
... have you been consuming 'healthy' meals.?
Etc...

I personally don't advice you go for Manix or Zinnat. It is better you opt for herbal and natural food supplements.
Do some research into helpful foods that will boost your sperm. And stay away from junk.

Goodluck reproducing!
TV/MoviesRe: Why Cant Nollywood Act Films With Some Seriousness. by prof800(m): 2:40pm On Nov 03, 2014
Originalsly:
Hey...you guys don't get me wrong!!....there are some good Nollywood movies....1998 to 2005...where the quality of production was poor...but jeez...the story lines and much better over all acting made them interesting. It's funny that at that time the stars weren't celebrities...but now....more celebrities than stars and almost all the movies suck...big time!
There are New Nollywood movies that are better than the old 1998 era movies by far in terms of story and picture quality.

People are just too nostalgic and sentimentally biased.

While some refuse to wake up from their slumber.

If Nigerian movies get to Hollywood standard today, people will still bad-mouth and criticize.
But then don't some people bad mouth Hollywood too and Bollywood too?
They fail to see the good in things.

Your statement is a fallacy.!
It is just like saying for example, that a 'terminator 1' is better than an 'edge of tomorrow'. Only sentiments will let one reason in that angle.

Therefore, it is utterly absurd to say that storylines of the past beat that of the present era. Unless ofcourse you are watching 'alaba home videos'.

There is a new and better Nollywood that might not yet be world class but is steering on the right track to world class. And you don't get to see these films except in the Cinemas. The Nollywood movies on the street are 'alaba home videos' and are the lancers of the bad name of Nollywood.

MARD, Indian film is a classic, and is ever green but that don't mean that there are no better stories in today's Bollywood.

Same for IGODO, Saworoide, Nneka the snake girl, Arus-iyi, Domitila, Blood Money (Nigerian movies) and all the other ever greens. It don't mean that better stories have not been told. Maybe you don't just get to see them as alaba home videos occupy the market more whereas NEW NOLLYWOOD films are sold in theatres across the country.

@Prof800. Thank you for the info . I will go with blender... I was full with inspiration when I saw the movies made with blender especially Sintel.. you can watch it on YouTube.. men I love it. but na hard work embarassed
Yes that's Sintel from the blender community.
...And yes it comes with HARD WORK but as time goes on, you would get to know that it also comes with TEAM WORK - very great team work.

...As you know that a good work like Sintel needs a team of 3D artists. One man can NOT single handedly pull off the kind of works you see in today's Animation Movies like The Croods, How to train your dragon II, Megamind etc. I just want you to bear that in mind.

That is why many Nigerian 3D artist fail (because of pride). They want to be the author and the finisher, the alpha and the omega, the alto and the indica. Whereas, they fail to see that, just like live action movies, 3D animation movies involves a lot of processes carried out in a form of division of labour --- from the scriptwriter to the producers, the directors, art directors, Visual effects supervisor, team of 3D modellers, team of riggers, team of animators, a lighting and rendering crew, a colourist, team of editors, designers, sound crew, voice actors etc...etc. So how can one computer and one animator pull off a full 3D animation like RANGO? Not feasible.

Blender rocks and it has a large user community and support. Plus you'll love the workflow.

Goodluck with Blender. I hope you post your progress on this forum and encourage others.

Just Google prices depending on where you want to buy. I personally will probably never buy another Canon DSLR again as they are two years behind 'the norm' in tech features... toys out there are have been doing 1080p @ 60fps for years and Canon has only just added that to the 7D MK II and want to brag about it? smh what idiots. Common phone dey do 120fps and some even 240... I beg.

As for the 7D MK II price; I'm in the UK so I ignore 'release date' prices... you should look to US prices ($1800 - body only yet in the UK body only is almost $2500... for what?). Anyway, let's say performance-wise it betters almost every other Canon DSLR but don't be an early-adopter as you'll only find out any 'problems' way too late.
This is the time of the year to just wait and see what everyone else is doing... even brand new comer Samsung has just today abi yesterday dropped the 'NX1' a 4K resolution 'DSLR' out-of-the-blue.
Would you advice one to go for the Samsung NX1 instead.?

What affordable camera would you opt for now if you were to go shopping?

...and the previous posters have been on point especially Tymax when he said:
Tymax:
Those two software only give "ready-made" meshes and rigs.
Mixamo is not the way to go. Let's say you have a specific character to model and animate that was originally developed as part of a brand- say, indomie's indomitables for instance. You would be in a fix cos, those characters are not a part of the library that comes with mixamo.
Makehuman.org on the other hand is a little more flexible but you must learn python (programming language) to make really fundamental changes to the model.
Don't forget that the human characters are just a part of your scene. You should consider your client's custom models and environment.
Software like these are just to introduce you to the 3d modeling/animation world. If you want to get right to business, you should go for those ones you are trying to avoid.
@jjamani, Tymax is right. Those softwares you mentioned are NOT industry standard. If you are serious about the business then you would want to use professional tools.

If you change your mind to consider Cinema 4D then click this thread:https://www.nairaland.com/1934666/cinema-4d-premium-tutorials-materials

for blender, follow this http://www.nairaland.com/1320631/3d-enthusiast-zone-blender-3d

...which ever software you pick, ensure to join a community of users so you would be informed.

Nobody dies...

The curved out part on the upper ball makes it lighter than the ball on the other end of the scale. So it'll miss the head of the standing guy and won't have enough weight to lift the other stone. It'll end up rolling to the other side where the complete stone is.

My social scientific opinion. grin grin grin
I don't think it will roll to the other side where the complete stone is. There is a small barrier on that see-saw that will not allow it.

I also think nobody dies... tho.

davroca16:
I think I'll follow your opinion how ever D's possibility of surviving is 50-50 is he stands, except he squats. smiley
D will survive 100%. Look at the quadrants of the ball and how it matches that of the right angled triangle.
C will survive too as the see-saw will hang nearly half way. But if he dies then A is going to die too.

If it was Emmanuel or Cosy who came last nobody will tell the gus folks twice before they evict them. But evicting Canon is a tough one since he is by far the viewer's choice leader, he has hardly ever performed poorly, and many people want/expect him to win.

Nevertheless it is only fair he gets evicted since three people were evicted in a row. Also Noella and Ikenna had hardly ever performed poorly yet they were evicted the day they came last.

No mercy was shown to these people so no mercy should be shown to otto.
Noela didn't accomplish the task, Samantha didnt accomplish the task, Evi gave up... There should be mercy. I think the last four men should be given equal opportunities to find the General's Helmet.

Originalsly:
I was thinking of Nollywood now crawling away from home video to the big screen. But with the just a handful of theatres nationwide would it be a good thing to invest in building a theatre? My first thought was yes, but on second thought going to the movies was never a Nigerian tradition and as such it would be hard to keep the seats constantly filled. Then the present and most likely the followig generations find it normal to watch movies on their ehmmm....micro phone screens...and for free! This makes me think it would not be a good investment. You?
Going to the movies is now getting popular among Nigerian folks especially in Lagos.

The fact remains that we need more screens in Nigeria... more screens.!
PM me if you have further inquiries.

Art, Graphics & VideoRe: How To Create Animated Image Or Logo? by prof800(mod): 7:30pm On Oct 21, 2014
It depends on the software that is available to you.
What software do you have and what type of banner are you creating.?

You can create a simple banner and animate it using Adobe suites (illustrator, fireworks and flash etc).
But to create a really stunning animation of your logo you would need higher end motion graphics softwares like MoGraph (from Cinema 4D), Maya etc in tandem with After Effects.

wink

btw,
reidkrugger I checked your blog and it is awesome!
I like how you kept it strictly to animation. Unlike some folks who be confusing modeling with animation.
"Modeling is not animation" I think someone here said that.
Kudos.
