aboyaji: I do not have a grounded knowledge about car parts. The only thing you can do is get dirty.
What I mean is you need to get involved in the spare parts business right in the market and join what other guys are doing there by identifying with some Ogas as a hustler. Don't go at this age to start learning the trade. No!
Just go and become a hustler in the market. Like someone who gets a customer and get his own share when the customer buys an item. Just tell customers that you have everything. Thank you so much. |

Samakus: Auto Spare Parts is a capital intensive business. I do not think that this amount is good enough unless you want to take a long time before stabilising.
Need I include that that line of business requires expertise. If you want to venture into it, learn the trade for atleast 1 year. Very important Thank you so much. |
Career › Re: With My 450k Salary Am Not Still At Ease. by professore(m): 12:26am On Jul 09, 2023 |
Samakus: Minimum of 2m
Because in business, there are days even months you will incur losses. It may or may not be your fault but it will come. Having a good capital base makes you stay afloat to navigate that phase and stabilise. Then, you boom if you know what you're doing and grace is upon you Not bad. Do you think this amount or slightly less can start the business of autos spare parts? |

aboyaji: They're readily available in the Nigerian markets.
For example, I was speaking with a friend today. He has a job but he just opened a shop for accessories. Most charging cables we buy for 1k in the market to charge with, he sells them for 400. It costs him 150 to buy. Quality Charger head costs him 400 but he sells 660. Market people sell it for 1500.
When you want to venture into such business, go to the market and meet a friendly business man to explain things to you.
Good luck.
Please start with these little things. Don't jump into money consuming ventures. God bless you brother. I want to venture into car or motorcycle spare part, do you have any idea how to go about it? |

aboyaji: Why?
Just give yourself like a year and half and save like 200k from it. You should be getting like 3.5m as savings.
Use it to set up phone accessories shop where you don't add much gain to your sales. You could opt for wholesales. would this require importation or the goods would be bought in Nigeria and resold in Nigeria. |

Opolopoopolonio: Extremely faulty argument
Only in Nigeria do you see drivers and gatemen living in their own houses despite earning 30k minimum wage without having to pay mortgage for the rest of their lives
And who says you can easily earn USD60 in the US without having to work your asssss out
Aside banking and teaching in Nigeria, most jobs are easy. Also, not everybody stays in Lagos where there is much stress. And you have not seen a driver earning 150k or even more? And are you talking about those cubicles/huts made of mud that has no structural integrity in desolate places? C'mon that's not a house but a place to put your head. Because if you have seen a gateman living in his own house at Ikoyi come and tell me. Of course, you will work for every single dollar in the US, does that negate the fact that you can get it easily? No. If you want to combine 5 jobs in US, the jobs are available, only a lazy man will likely be poor over there. But a hard working youth here can be rendered useless. I'm aware people like you will come around. |

By "sufferheads" I mean, they like suffering, hard life and pain.
Here is why - Nigerians will compare how much a commodity in sold in US dollars and convert it to Naira, if the result is higher than the Naira value, then they will say that it is cheaper in Nigeria.
Let's look at this analysis:
Let's say $1 = #500
Let's assume a cooking gas costs $60 in US.
Let's say exactly the same product costs #28000 in Nigeria
Nigerians will now convert $60 to Naira, which is equal to #30,000
Nigerians will now say that Nigerian government is trying, it is cheaper to get the product in Nigeria by #2000.
Nigerians have forgotten that you can earn that $60 easily in USA in an hour or two. But that is almost your own minimum wage here, which you earn in the whole of a month. Waking up rushing to work, getting back late at night. Hardly sleep, hardly rest, off you go again the next morning. So between someone in USA and a sufferhead in Nigeria who will buy more property and live a better life? Who will live more comfortably? Who has a better polity, better system to thrive? So, stop this comparison, it doesn't work that way.
Sufferheads, all these comments you make online and government officials see them, it makes them tighten the rope on your neck which causes concussion to your sufferhead.

Wodu89: If people keep getting needlessly suspicious of one another. Who then suffers ?
In the end of the day, cynism destroys and damages human relations along with benefits that could have come out of good relationships.
The fear of betrayal is causing as great harm as betrayal itself. The balance is somewhere in between. Today I've touched atleast a combined sum of 20-30 M in my field of trade. It was a Nairalander I befriended some years back who met me when I was dying and broke that shared tips with me. What if our friendship didn't occur how would I not have died from the hardships I faced.
Humans need one another. The over glorification of these kinds of stories ruins potentially good relationships can you teach me the trade? |

Politics › When Nigerian Politicians Say Nigerians Will Survive by professore(op): 5:41pm On Jun 30, 2023*. Modified: 8:03pm On Jun 30, 2023 |
When Nigerian politicians make tough socio-economic policies that directly affect the masses and say "Nigerians will survive", I wonder the extent to which they lack "depth".
The question I want to ask them is this, do the politicians expect the masses to vanish as a result of their misbegotten policies?
Do the politicians expect that after making unwholesome policies all the people will disappear, and all that will be left in the country will be the ruling class?
This is where I am going, if the politicians make the most draconian law, never before made in the history of mankind:
A. Some people will die,
B. Some will make (lifestyle) adjustments and simply survive,
C. Others will not even see anything in the policy due to their level of wealth or perhaps, they even benefit from such policies.
In conclusion: it is because of people in category A, that we say the politicians should take actions with human face. Some people have already gone through the most severe pain and torture that they can withstand, further tightening of the rope simply knocks them out cold.
So, because you still have people to govern after making your noisome policies: A. Does not mean you have not mur/dered
B. It does not mean you have not made families shed bitter tears in awful and extremely excruciating pain.
C. It does not mean you have not shattered and battered dreams.
D. It does not mean you have not made some people to have to live below the standard of animals like goats and dogs to survive
Think about these things going forward, these pains are becoming unbearable.
