franchasng:How old was Babangida? What was his rank and appointment in Army then? I believed the report of General TY Danjuma who is still alive. Hundeyin is a small boy. What IBB did is to rewrite a story many Retired Military Officers know. A lot have been said to rewrite that history, they even imported imaginary names of IBO officers killed in the coup but those who were active in the coup know what happened. Late General Aguiyi Ironsi WIFE few years ago cursed Retired General TY Danjuma and they exchanged hot words over the counter coup. General TY Danjuma said he had no regret. Obasanjo who was a personal friend to Nzeogu was not in the coup as he was not around during the planning stage. I can bet with anything till date, if you plan to kill an Hausa big trader in computer village, a Yoruba big trader in Computer Village and an IBO big trader in Computer Village on Sunday midnight against Monday morning, before tomorrow evening, the IBO big trader would have escaped while the Hausa and the Yoruba would have been eliminated. That is the state till today. IBB as an elder statesman is only trying to pacify the Hausas so as to create the much needed trust for IBO Presidency. He must have been compelled to include it in his book. Indirectly, he was telling those who planned the counter coup that they were not intelligent but I know General TY Danjuma and very few that are still alive will never accept that. Never! Never! They will never accept that. IBB cannot tell them what they know. |

Human Rights activist that defended Jonathan government through out its tenure. He was on the side of Yahaya Bello, now against Court of Appeal judgement. Nigeria is a case study. |
seunmsg:What is the essence of having two Federal Universities in one State? Osun and Ekiti already have Federal Universities. Is it because of those Polytechnic that are converted into Universities? Well, the Senate must have reasons for the approval. |
Lagos State Government has been silent on this $100 million paid for the land. The Lagos State House of Assembly, Ministry of Finance and Office of the Accountant General or Auditor General have never made mention of this money in any of its report until it was revealed by DANGOTE last year. There is a lot of coverup in Lagos State and that is why they want OBASA to be reinstated to cover the secret. |
gabbytabby:OPC - Gani Adams and late Fasheun the founder of OPC together with their members wielding different guns and other weapons demonstrated on the streets of Lagos disrupted business activities in support of Jonathan and PDP in 2015 before election |
EXOUSIAng:Musa Bamaiyi also died years after leaving the military from the battle he fought as NDLEA Chairman. Nasir El Rufai also lost two of his children when he was fighting as FCT Minister. Nigeria is not easy to bring a change by force. |
SatoshiX:This double face guy should be dealt with decisively. This is one of the benefits of the military. I still have his Wikipedia profile during Jonathan government in my Archive. This is what happened during normal and legitimate protest in Nigeria and black Africa. In the mixed multitudes you find people with different motives with their members among the good intentioned people waiting for an opportunity to create chaos and confusion and that was what happened during EndSARS protest. That boy was at Lagos Marathon yesterday waiting for an opportunity to create chaos. The earlier he is taught a lesson the better. |
SalamRushdie:CIA? I remembered several years ago when I was with a world renowned International Organization at Abuja, because of my background, a Nigerian that was the most powerful Nigerian in that organization that had caged White Officials and Nigerians for so many years reported me to the Regional Security Officer (a secret spy agent from an European member country) of that organization that I worked for Security Intelligence Agencies in Nigeria and that I spy for the Federal Government of Nigeria. This happened at the time the Organization delegation in Turkey had a security breach by leaking a secret information to the Turkish Government. It was not easy. That made my stay very short. Coming back to the USAID staff, where is Nigeria getting the money to pay the huge salaries? USAID lowest salary in Nigeria is not a small salary |
NaijaNaWaa:Ben Bruce has fallen at last into the hands of the IBOS. Nobody defends Nigeria that will not become the source of acidic attacks of the IBOS. |

You tried. Congratulations. |
DeLaRue:That is exactly what happened after OBASANJO left in 2007. The fear is there this time around. No government takes over power under a depressed economy with country almost going into bankruptcy as it was when Tinubu came in May 29, 2023 and suddenly start talking about developmental projects. This is the first time in Africa. It takes a government at least 15 months before any meaningful developmental projects. From less than one year we started seeing regions complaining of being marginalized or sidelined in the awards of projects. What surprises me is that all the projects they complained about have been there for years and some even abandoned for decades. Why are they now bringing them out? Is Nigeria sleeping before? We have not seen anything. By the time the Regional Development Commission start their works we are going to see real potentials of Nigeria. All the abandoned developmental projects would be brought up for discussion. |
flokii:Don't mind them, it doesn't have any benefit in real life scenario. The project has been on ground since Buhari era. At the inception of AKK gas pipeline project, they said the pipeline would be extended to carry gas to Europe to provide a cheap alternative to gas supply to Europe by Russia. The rate of return on Investment, cost benefit analysis and payback period of any investment on the trans Sahara gas pipeline is nothing. Libya and North Africa countries with Gas are in best position to transport gas to Europe. Otherwise, let European Energy companies finance the gas pipeline project or let china finance the project while the only commitment from Nigeria would only be to sell gas . The West Africa Gas Pipeline Company manages the 678 kilometers pipeline from Nigeria to Takoradi. I don't know about the profitability now. They should allow investors manage the North Africa gas pipeline project and put the headquarters in Niger Republic or Algeria if it is a good investment. This is better than subjecting Nigeria to loans to finance the project. |

Houseontherock1:Baba rest in peace. In Yoruba land we don't talk evil about the dead . I will never forget baba is an old man that was supported to build a house at Lekki but years later demanded to know the source of the wealth of his benefactor. Baba in one of his memoirs just before Yinka Odumakin died said when Yinka Odumakin was seriously sick to the point of death he was rushed to his house. They have no money for treatment abroad and nobody was willing to help. He said he approached Tinubu who was a governor in Lagos as at that time. Tinubu hurriedly arranged for him to be flown abroad. That was how Yinka Odumakin survived for years that time. Several years later, they forgot. When he was sick again they could not approach the man again for assistance because of how they rewarded the man. That was it. The gods of the Yoruba are not sleeping, so it is Pa Reuben Fasoranti that will handover to the truly chosen person by the gods of the Yoruba. What a lesson. |

SmartPolician:DANGOTE is gift to Nigeria, Africa and the entire black race. If we can have three DANGOTE in Nigeria our economy will be among the industrialized nations of world by 2035. |
Odin13:You are a failure. It is only fools that follow fool. For an ethnic tribe to take 400 ethnic group for a ride takes a divine appointment and providence. How many Ethnic tribe was taking for a ride when Buhari ruled Nigeria? How many Ethnic group was taking for a ride when Jonathan ruled and estimated $100 billion looted and wasted? Under Jonathan, all the major social critics now are pro government including the SAN (Lawyer) demanding for creation of new state in the South East . The other one from Ondo State on his Wikipedia profile said he is an Ijaw, he put his village and clan in the Riverine area of Ondo State there. Under Buhari, when he was arrested, he hurriedly edited his profile and removed all the information to enable Ondo Women to demonstrate for his release. This is not the information I am expecting from Paris. I expect to hear about preparation for the AU Summit. This summit is very crucial as the tenure of the incumbent president of the AU Commission , Moussa Faki Mahamat ends this year and election is coming to replace him. |
kettykin:Google is not just about AI as far as Nigeria is concerned. Google have a lot of commitments in Nigeria to its technologies and infrastructure. Google Equiano subsea cable landed in Nigeria in 2022. All the AI platforms you mentioned above have no commitments in Nigeria. |
iwaeda:This is a very wrong information. NNPCL said PMS refinery will start in April. New Portharcourt refinery has not started PMS production also. The old refinery pms production is very low and cannot meet demand. If all the refineries are working at optimum capacity what about local crude oil supply? DAILY TRUST has become very active in information targeted against Federal Government since last year. My question is where is DAILY TRUST all these years? DAILY TRUST since inception has never been known for objectivity as it seems it is purposely created to serve the particular interest of its founders and what they stand for. |
mercyland93:Last year I spent days trying to imagine why Herbert Wigwe and his Wife and son chose to be in US on the day Access Bank was having the yearly celebrated Marathon 'Run Lagos ' . God knows best. Business is life, Business is religion to those that create Wealth. As we have 'god of Soccer in Football', it seems there is 'god of Business'. As God of soccer reacts, I think God of business can also react . This is just my imagination. |
RealTalkNoBull:You think like those with links with Afghanistan and Iraq. They are shallow minded people and unintelligent. Trump recognized Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel in his first term. This second term he is taking over Gaza for the Jews . The question in Nigeria should not be about Christian and Islam but about what we can benefit from Israel. Israel have the best Agriculture technologies in an unfriendly and an almost impossible planting terrain. Most of the technologies in Agriculture, Medicine, IT & Telecom are invented by the Jews. Nigeria needs the Israel Nigeria Joint Commission urgently. Those with links with Afghanistan and Iraq are contributing nothing to Nigeria's development but are burdens to Nigeria. |
blacknp:They have no case. Their names cannot be in the register. Even if they have decamped, are they the first to decamp? They met all the judicial requirements for decamping. I cited the first case in 1999 of Senator Dosunmu and Obanikoro that decamped from AD to PDP while everyone in Lagos government up to Chieftaincy council, Local and grassroots were in AD, nothing happened. There have been several cases since then till date without any judicial upturn while must it now start from Rivers? They have forgotten Ned Nwoko enemies are waiting for Rivers judgement and Ned Nwoko is a Lawyer. |
HIGHESTPOPORI:Truth is bitter that is why Nigeria remains the way it is. I am just an observer. Nearly all the self acclaimed Social critics today are pro government activists during Jonathan government. In 1999 when our Democracy was very young Senators Wahab Dosunmu and Obanikoro from Lagos State decamped from Alliance for Democracy into PDP while Tinubu and all the instruments of governance in Lagos are in Alliance for Democracy (AD). Since that time up till Obaseki in Edo State and the present cross carpeting at the National Assembly. No problem but because it has to do with Rivers State even when officially they have not been admitted into APC and there is no any official ceremony to that effect. Let us assume they have decamped, what happened to the previous people since 1999 till date and what would be the judicial interpretation given to those that are recently decamping at the National Assembly? Is it because it is from PDP or LP to APC and not the other way round as it used to be? |
Gotocourt:Nigeria stand to benefit a lot from Israel. My grandfather told me about how Awolowo brought Israeli technocrats to Western Region for Agricultural revolution. They left during the Western Region crisis. Israel have expertise on Agriculture, Medicals, Technologies and Security. Nigeria Israel Joint Commission is highly needed. I am very aware that those with links with Afghanistan and Iraq may not like this but if I may ask a question what are they contributing to Nigeria other than being a burden? |
Acekidc4:It seems nairaland is the main EDO Election Tribunal and the online touts are the judges. |
It is not hardship that is making attendance in Churches to reduce. Also, it is not hardship that makes offering and tithes to reduce but a new method of worship. I had wanted to write Apostle Joshua Selman, Apostle Arome Osayi and lastly Bishop David Oyedepo and Baba Adeboye about new method or new trend of worship which is silently and secretly diverting church members to another church without leaving their primary church or their homes.. This new method is online churches and FM radio station churches. Many Churches that are well rooted in online and FM radio station church services have large followership in thousands and participants are drawn from many states and even countries. I monitored three of such services in November, December and January. It was early January I decided to notify Apostle Arome Osayi and Apostle Joshua Selman but I later shelved the idea. I joined a one hour prayer meeting from 12 to 1a.m we were almost 10K that joined, in the morning, those that visited the page 4 hours after the meeting ended made it 29K visit. It happened severally and Account Details of the Churches are displayed online and announced on FM radio stations. I can bet you, about 80% of online church members pay about 50% or 70% of their Church commitments to those online churches. Therefore, their regular attendance of church is because of some personal commitments to their physical Church. Traditional churches may have to rely on regular members to survive. Churches with strong presence online and on FM radio stations are becoming very strong. |
alanto:Industrial revolution is silently taking place in Ogun State and it will spread to Oyo State. Lekki / Epe is the end of Lagos. Industrial revolution is moving to Ogun and will spread to Oyo. The South West had a very long setback since Awolowo / Akintola crisis up till June 12 crisis which lasted till 1999. There is also religious and Political dichotomy which created serious problems and prevented a concerted effort to agree on a unique solution. Development stopped in South West since Awolowo was incarcerated. Between 1979 and 1983 there was little they could do as they were in opposition as it was in First Republic. Apart from 3rd Mainland Bridge there was no any developmental agenda for Lagos since Murtala Muhammed came to Power and initiated relocation of capital from Lagos. |
kayperry:You are a small boy who knows nothing about oil and gas industry and knows nothing about competition. Teaching you will be a waste of time as you don't have any intelligent capacity to understand the dynamics of what is happening or what can happen. Also, I don't want to talk about DANGOTE Refinery because of what I know since 2017 till this morning. My advice to NNPC is to be very vigilant on Warri and new Portharcourt refineries. Warri is scheduled to start PMS production by April while we don't know when new Portharcourt refinery will start operations. |
MaziObinnaokija:The report said they denied explosion. NNPC should be very careful. Detractors and a key competitor can sabotage the refinery by connivance with people to blow critical elements of the refinery or by contamination of the hydraulic system thereby destroying the control system. Other thing they can do is to destroy the PLC components of the refinery. I am saying the above from real life experience. The former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly who was an Acting Governor at a time will understand what I am saying. NNPC can contact him for advice. In real life scenario, company can fund the destruction of the production unit of another company so as to remain the sole supplier of that product. |
godliman:So that you can poison them. |
