Nairaland GeneralPatrick Sawyer Urinated With Rage On Health Workers Who Told Him He Had Ebola by Provie(op): 9:44am On Aug 07, 2014
According to FrontPage Africa, the last acts of Patrick Sawyer, the Ebola infected Liberian who died in Lagos, might have resulted in the transfer of the virus to innocent health workers. Mr. Sawyer is said to have had an "indiscipline" encounter with nurses and health workers at the First Consultants Hospital inObalende where he was being treated.

According to the report, Mr. Sawyer was asked if he had come into contact with anyone who had the virus but he answered in the negative. Doctors at the hospital decided to test him anyway and when they told him he had Ebola, he allegedly went into a rage and urinated on the health workers attending to him.

FrontPage Africa reports:

"...Upon being told he had Ebola, Mr. Sawyer went into a rage, denying and objecting to the opinion of the medical experts. “He was so adamant and difficult that he took the tubes from his body and took off his pants and urinated on the health workers, forcing them to flee."

The correlation of the names people bear to their real behavior (whether or not the bearer is conscious or unconscious of this influence) has been a subject of debate in several quarters.

Today, my frolicking mind momentarily settled on this ill-fated Liberian called Mr Patrick SAWYER who is bent on sawing Nigeria to shreds except for a Divine intervention.

May I not be an instrument of destruction to any person or people, Amen.

lestat: Millions of Nigerians will die from this disease evenUN has predicted this and do you know why? Because as a people Nigerians have failed, Nigerians praise falsehood, mediocrity and material things.. Now you have been attracting the type of leaders you deserve.. Leaders who are dead spiritually and have no iota of remorse nor belief in the spiritual consequences of their actions.

Now th ebola will wipe millions of Nigerians away, because the country knew over a month ago that this disease was ravaging the west African region but was anything done to prevent this from entering Nigeria? No! We as a people have grown indolent and choose to be sppon fed we abhor work and look for ease in everything hence why spiritual bandits labelling themselves churchs thrive here...they offerseats in paradise in exchange for monetary gains, they encourage reckless, heartless life styles as long as you ask for forgiveness on Sunday, and also pay your thites so you can receive.

Why dont these spiritual fraudsters speak up against the injustices in out society by the government? the answer is simple the government as attends mosques and churches.

Well now it is too late, ebola cannot be bribed away, ebola cannot be decieved, this is it... The same Americans that boko harram hate, these same Americans that yahoo boys duoe daily are the only ones who can save west Africa, no PDP, Redeemed, christ embassy, or Nigerian Muslim association.... I have been waiting for one pastor to rise up and claim he or she can lay hands on ebola victims and heal them...where is pastor oyakilomeh? Usually helays hands and casts out all diseases, has his healing powers gone on vacation?

Who knows maybe this time next month ebola may have killed even me too, who knows?

Saying God forbid wont do anything, this isva serious issue, alot of people do not realize how grave this is.

Well thesad this is most of the Muslim clerics and pastors will run abroad when it gets really bad and they will tell you theybare praying for Nigerians from there.

After this Maybe Nigerians will finally wake up?
Hard truth, except for saying dat millions of Nigerians will die. The Lord will save us, Amen.

frenex: the 3rd paragraph of your message is just what I want to hear, the way forward. Thanks. Any other suggestion is also welcomed
U're wlcom.

While exploring the informal suggestion in the 3rd paragraph, u can also formally write Diamond Bank Hqtrs in Lagos, copy to ur domicile branch. Make it snappy. Tell dem dat u did the said transfer on d date in question and dat the money was neither delivered to the intended beneficiary, nor did dey return it to ur account. Tell dem as well dat u have lodged an oral complaint with the bank and dat despite their promise to return d money to ur account within d next couple of days, the default has continued till date.

IMPORTANT: Do not mention anything about d beneficiary's account being restricted. Or anytin about Keystone. I am sure dey will investigate and get back to u in writing in about one week. If dey don't reverse it, dey will officially tell u why, so dat u know whom to hold responsible. Their reply letter will definitely be a great weapon in case further action is needed.

U can find a lawyer in ur location (if u dont have one already. Lawyer's letterhead commands greater attention and the letter usually ends in a threat of court action if demands are not met within a stipulated time. Yet you can still use ur own letterhead, and end it with a threat to brief your lawyer to sue them outright.

Good luck.

frenex: I called diamond contact center and they said its their responsibility not keystone.that they are tracking the money. Since 23rd ? If you're in my shoes, you'll be more hash cos I'm so angry with the whole thing. Both banks can't tell where the money is and the money was meant for business which the beneficiary will not conclude his own part till he gets the money. All I need now is the way forward to settle this. For the account details,it was confirmed by both banks that its correct. The lady I spoke with said the money should be authomatically reversed after 3 working days if it is not credited to the beneficiary
quote author=Provie]Op ur title is rather too strong. It is not yet "defrauding"; it's a case of poor customer care (note: I am not a banker, and have no special interest in any bank).

Now, ur issue is with Diamond Bank and not Keystone. And if dey have executed ur instruction in transferring d fund to d account ur friend (the beneficiary) gave you, den I don't think they are liable to you.

And if it is the same account the beneficiary gave to you, that is, if you did not make any mistake, then you don't even have any problem. Let the beneficiary sort out the problem his account has with Keystone which made the fund to "hang". I don't think a credit transfer is automatically reversed on grounds of such account restriction.
I understand u perfectly. If u get wat I mean, u have every right to be mad at the banks; my position is dat d term "fraud" is too STRONG (not HARSH). U ar not being harsh: we ar talking about 500k here, aside damages dat u may have incurred. What I mean is dat if u make it a case of Fraud, it will even be harder for you to recover d money. Someone somewhere is just not doing their duty.

Your partner is not helping matters (to put it mildly), maybe because he has not released his own consideration (goods or services) to you. Wat caused the whole problem was a default on his part, ie, d bad account he gave u. If u decide to go to court at this stage, he is the first person u will sue. If d lady told u dat ordinarily it should be reversed within 3days, dis tells u dat it is not an ordinary case. Dat's why I said the money it "hanging". Working wit the facts you have, what makes your case extraordinary is dat he gave u a bad account. So he should clear his end first. We dont even know the nature of the restriction: whether it is the type that will give the bank or someone else a lien over any money c coming into the account. And he is here simply telling you that your transfer didn't enter his account.

Alternatively, you can approach the bank on your own since he is not forthcoming. Ascertain whether this is one of the situations dat a transfer can be reversed; that is, where money is posted into a RESTRICTED account. When dat is done, we can now determine who should reverse that has failed to do so. The lady you spoke with might just be telling you what is generally the case, & not really what happens in a peculiar case like you have, (or rather your friend has).

PoliticsFRSC To Enforce New Drivers’ Licence, Number Plate, August 1 by Provie(op): 2:34pm On Jul 23, 2014
Lagos – The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Tuesday said it would begin enforcement of the new drivers’ licence and number plate on Aug 1.

The Lagos State Sector Commander, Mr Chidi Nkwonta, said that the decision followed the new court judgment.

“This new judgment made it very clear that as from Aug. 1, FRSC should impound. "So, Nigerians must discountenance that first misleading judgment and take this one because we are going to continue enforcement as from Aug. 1, 2014.

“We never asked anybody to stop (processing licences). Anybody who stopped ab initio stopped at his own peril. “Neither did the court ask anybody to stop, that judgment never said anybody should stop.

“So anybody who did so did it at his own risk and the deadline was supposed to be June 30.

“Now we have extended it to Aug. 1, because we needed to go on appeal on the other matter.

“But right now, there is another judgment which
says we can go on.

“So, while we are still waiting for the appeal we
are going to go on with this other judgment.“
Justice Peter Umeadi of a Federal High Court in
Anambra on June 30, had ruled in a suit filed by
Chief Ajefo Ekwo challenging FRSC’s powers to
enforce new drivers’ licence and number plate.
Umeadi said that the respondent’s directive to
change old drivers’ licence and number plates to
new was legal, valid, subsisting and in conformity
with the FRSC’s 2007 Act and the National Road
Traffic Regulations of 2012.

Nkwonta, however, said that the recent judgment
had put aside the earlier judgment of the Lagos
High Court ruling that the corps had no authority
to produce and fix deadline for the documents.
The FRSC commander said that the earlier
judgment was given in error and the commission
would stand by the new judgment while appealing
against the earlier judgment.

He said that the command had not failed to
process the vehicle documents for new applicants
that patronised the commission after the initial
judgment.

Nkwonta said that all the registration centres and
18 additional work stations in all parts of Lagos
were functional and the network was effective.
He said that the commission had improved in the
processes as well as working at weekends to
make it easy for applicants.

Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in
Lagos on March 26 declared that the FRSC had
no legal authority to impose new number plates
on motorists in the country.

The judge also held that “the ongoing exercise by
the FRSC to replace the old number plate with a
new one is illegal and unconstitutional because
there is no law empowering it to carry out the
exercise.’’

Justice Tsoho delivered the judgment in a suit
filed by a Lagos-based lawyer, Mr Emmanuel
Ofoegbu, against the FRSC.

In the suit, Ofoegbu had challenged the power of
the commission to impound vehicles of motorists
who failed to acquire the new number plates.
The plaintiff argued that there was no law validly
made in accordance with the constitution
prohibiting the use of the old number plates.
Meanwhile, Justice Umeadi declared that FRSC
has power to impound any vehicle which fails to
register for a new number plate and arrest any
motorist who fails to obtain the new drivers’
licence.

He said that such offender should be prosecuted
according to law as from Aug.1. (NAN)

tempem: Stop forming, bro. When did you have Nepa light last in your hood, and if you have, how long does it last? And if at all you're being favoured, those streets where you've seen electric bulbs on ask them, when last did they catch their glimpse of Nepa's
light? Imagine in a whole month nepa brings light for just 24hrs!! And tell me how do you want this peeps to care about their bulbs being switched on.
U are making a point but you dont have to be rude about it; don't transfer an aggression meant for NEPA to me - me to I'm not happy with dem.

Now to ur question; my area is one of those which do not have light for more than 2hours per day on the average. Many times we go for as long as 4dayz without electricity. The lame excuse is dat we have many cottage industries in the town. But the surrounding suburbs (3 towns at least) all have fairly regular supply of power: I am either visiting friends there, or just passing on regular basis given the nature of my job. It is in those places that I alwayz see electric bulbs shinning everywhere during daytime as I lamented. My thought is that if they avoid their "wastages", perhaps our own situation would not be as bad as it is.

So bro, u dont have to be aggressive; I have my point.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Do Nigerians Waste Electricity? by Provie(m): 10:37am On Jul 17, 2014
This is a major issue in our society that people rarely bother about. It pisses me of each time I pass and see electric bulbs on during daytime: scattered everywhere as if the sun's light depends on it. Such wastage in a country where it is said that power production is less than inadequate!

Because the needed civilized orientation on power conservation is lacking in the vast majority of Nigerians, only a measure directly bearing upon the user's pocket can correct the anomaly. That measure is the use of Prepaid metering (pay as you use). Incidentally, the powers that be are either too dumb to understand, or too selfish to care.

Secondly, u must upgrade yourself in terms of Christianity/Bible knowledge and make out time to have a chitchat with her on biblical principles as different from what is really taught these days. I'm sure your wife will be back.

CityNG: @ OP, I don't think this is the case but in case you wanted to do a quick validation before taking it in to a shop.

After a mild drive where you hav enot used the brakes as much pull over and carefully place your hand on the middle of the wheel. A bit difficult since you have no real comparison data but you want to see if you have excessive heat which is a tell tale sign of wheel bearing going bad.

Another test is that you should roll down your rear windows and listen when there are no cars around. Most of the times you will hear screeching noises from the bearing if they are going bad. Not an absolute though.

The final test is to raise the rear of the car on each side and roll the tires (cars has to be in neutral and hand brake not set so outmost safety using wheel chocks is paramount). Again it's one of those things that you have no validation data. but the wheel should rotate a few cycles before stopping.

I personally don't think you have bad wheel bearings. But in my language we say "Iwakiwa la nwa oun ti oba sonu".
I will check all of these. Thanx so much.

Car TalkRe: Please Help: My Car Eats Up Tyres Like Mad. by Provie(op): 9:49pm On Jul 13, 2014
CityNG: So it looks to me like you have the correct sized tire as well as the correct load rating. In fact since your car is lighter than an American spec C220 (we require more safety stuff than most other countries hence why some brands suchs a Peugeot, FIAT, etc can't be sold in the US - though FIAT just came in after making a lots of changes) then your tires have more than the necessary load rating, the 91H part. So keep that in mind for the future.

The 91 = load
The H = speed rating up to 210kph, I don't think you are going over that speed but if you are going faster than that then maybe you can upgrade to a higher rating. I use Z on my hot rods even though I will never see 180mph consistently.

So look at the two attached pictures.

The 520 is the rating of expected calculate miles ratio to travel before you can reasonable wear out the threads. The higher the number the better the life expectancy of the tire. This tire will last for along time. Based on my experience you can expect 50, - 60,000 miles.

The second picture is 180, this is a high end tires that will fit your car but will wear out quickly, outstandingly quickly but will return eye popping performance in terms of grip in excellent weather and road condition. Don't even think of driving in the rain on this tire. Based on my experience you'll be lucky to get 6, - 8,000 miles from this guys.

So now if you can see such a number on your tire will tell you what type of tire you have. For my daily driver car I never buy anything less than 400 rating.

If you have time and megabyte the site TireRack.Com is an excellent resource on buying or learning about tires.

PS: There is a difference between the stock size 195/65/15 and what you have on 205/65/15 but the difference is negligible, IMHO. See picture number 3.
Tanx for d detailed explanation. I will take time to go over it again and again; and also visit TireRack.Com. Our major problem here in Nigeria is that our Standard Organization(s) and quality regulators do next to nothing while adulterated products fill our markets. All the same I find ur write-ups very useful & will be my guide as I hit the market. Tanx dearly.
Car TalkRe: Please Help: My Car Eats Up Tyres Like Mad. by Provie(op): 8:40pm On Jul 13, 2014
CityNG: In my opinion, you do not need an alignment then.

So what tires are you buying and what is the thread rating? Perhaps the tires are meant for a lighter weight car.
Sorry I'm not conversant with the Rating thing; but I can see something like 205/65 R15 R305. Then also 91H
