Car TalkRe: Please Help: My Car Eats Up Tyres Like Mad. by Provie(op): 7:19pm On Jul 13, 2014
CityNG: 1) The Mercedes that I've personally owned (10 or so) were notorious for wearing out rear tires.

2) What type of wear are talking about on yours? Mine wears evenly and mostly are due to my aggressive driving. If you drive spiritedly then you will expect your tires to wear out more. Since your car is rear wheel drive and factoring in the torque delivery of Mercedes then wear is unlikely.

3) 4 months seems like very quick but how many miles do you drive? That is the true measuring stick. If you drive 5,000 miles in 4 months then there's issue but if you drive 65,000 in one month then that may be inline with the thread life expectancy of the tires.

4) What is the type of tires that you're buying? Some tires are performance tires and they wear fast. You should read the side of the wall to see the type and rating. See attached picture.

5) While alignment adjustments on the rear of your Mercedes is rarely needed (nothing moves back there as much as the front) there are issues that may occur due to work our parts or hitting debris or hole on the road.
Thanks for ur useful tips. Like I said, I have covered only about 6,000km, wit over half of it on d highway on excellent tar. Even d city drives are on equally excellent road. I am the very careful type (not being immodest anyway); but once I hit the highway I'm always around 120km/hr.

The wear is even, not one-sided. One more fact: about two years ago, I changed the rear tyres from 195 to 205 while retaining 195 at the front.

Kx: Alignment checked?
I must confess that since these three years I have not done anything alignment or balancing on that back. I did front alignment in December last year. Then the technician inspected the back and said it does not need alignment/balancing.
Car TalkPlease Help: My Car Eats Up Tyres Like Mad. by Provie(op):
The back tyres of my car wears down too quicky, four months on the average. It's now 3years since I brought it direct from Germany. I did the last tyre change on March 21, two brand new tyres I purchased at #25,000 (12,500 each) and has covered just about 6,000km. Right now another change is urgently needed. It's Mercedes C230. The issue is with the back tyres only; the front has maintained the same tyres for over two years now.

Gurus in the house please help with some advice.
Christianity EtcRe: Should A True Christian Stay Away From Church For Fear Of Boko Haram? by Provie(op): 10:56am On Jul 13, 2014
cold: I just asked a question. Nothing wrong with that,is there? My point is as a true Christian nothing should deter you from going to church. But then again your better judgement tells you dying for god isn't really worth it. Life is good.
Ok. No hard feelings. Welcome bro.

Christianity EtcRe: Should A True Christian Stay Away From Church For Fear Of Boko Haram? by Provie(op): 6:53am On Jul 13, 2014
cold: Why should you be scared of boko haram? Have you no faith in your father anymore? Isn't your god capable of pulling you out of the burning furnace like in the days of Shedrach,Meshach and Abednego? Do you no longer believe in the promise that no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper? Didn't your god make you a promise that you shall trample on snakes and they will do you no harm? Besides, don't you want to get to this heaven you so crave for since this world is not our home?Suddenly all these fly out the window at the mention of boko haram.
Ahh,i see what this is about. Self preservation is the first law of nature. God,heaven, precepts and promises, all these can wait for another day. For now common sense reigns supreme. Life is for the living,we can always attend church some other sunday
Your view has sound biblical foundation. Bt Bible also told us in several places that when d Jews and other detractors sought to kill Jesus He quietly removed himself from dat place.
Christianity EtcShould A True Christian Stay Away From Church For Fear Of Boko Haram? by Provie(op): 6:00pm On Jul 12, 2014
The book of Proverbs teaches us to get wisdom and understanding because long life is in her hands. Jesus himself says we should be as wise as a serpent... Apostle Paul in the epistles teaches of the Christian virtue of Faith.

Putting all these together, I keep asking myself whether in the face of bombing threats and realities in our country today as orchestrated by d devilish Boko Haram, it is proper for a true Christian to quietly stay away from attending Sunday service to avoid falling a victim.

Let's hear your view. Reasoned and realistic responses please, not fanaticism. Remember that Theology means Reasoned study about God.

Churches? Places of worship? Doctrines?

The time is coming, yea and NOW is, when the worshippers of God shall worship in spirit and in truth.

Jesus himself said dis, and in direct response to the scramble for PLACES of worship.

After all said and done, the complainants and the suspects substantially are one family members, so the case is a family affair (irrespective of the criminal dimension). It should be sorted out amicably for future's sake.
