KoiceReloaded: Sheesh! See, this is why I rarely argue with stupid people, I strive to avoid gems like the one above. Nigga, how would you know anything about anything if you don't study them, huh? Do you honestly think a good number of professors that teach medicine courses in Universities ever stepped foot inside an operating room? You don't need to have a practical understanding of something to know the basic fundamentals of it, you half-wit. WTF?!
You apparently missed where I said something about "film tricks". People like you have serious comprehension skills, so I'm not surprise.
Olodo, I don't need to step into one to know what goes on in there. We have pop culture to help us out in that regard. Next!
The fool couldn't even comprehend that "fighting to your strength" is a way of mastering ones inadequacies and using it to ones advantage. Haba!
You couldn't even afford a miserly 200mb data to watch the YouTube videos I linked last night, and you want me to post another? Abeg, don't waste my time, you ignorant church rat.
Meh. Like I said before, your mental faculty is limited. You will never get it. Next!
Are you done? Pls hurry up and share the link or video that proves the mechanics and physics of ITB in real life situations - am waiting.
You don't study martial arts WITHOUT practicing it, martial arts is one of the few things that is built on doing NOT reading and watching it. Anyway it's clear you are just a keyboard warrior, so I will make it easier for you, go on now, search the internet and bring us the links or videos that proves the physics and mechanics used in ITB was/is applicable in real life. And don't forget to add jumping over 3 meters to perform a strike pls.
Greed is what killed this fantastic series. The person that later bought the franchise wanted the producers to produce more episodes within a week, that was were it all went down hill.
Lemme lay this matter to rest since this idiot is obsessed with this physics and mechanic of a thing.
I bet you don't know that in martial arts, the practitioner is more important than the style. Since everyone has differing levels of fitness, it's important that the coordinator uses a person's strength to determine the martial art style that would suit them. If you take on a skill that doesn't suit your natural mechanics, you will not excel, that's a fact. "Fight to your strength" is the mantra of any reputable dojo. Bet you don't know that too.
ITB got it right at this by letting the actors fighting styles be influenced by their respective strengths and level of fitness. - The widow being a woman but very agile doesn't throw a punch, but uses quick thrusts and slices. - Sonny being a wushu black belt holder in real life, naturally fights in wushu. Wushu is a skill that utilizes a lot of craw and chop manoeuvres, and when Sonny fights, you'll see this techniques in action. - Bajie being a little hefty cannot move as deftly as the others, so uses dancing martial arts, since it's a mainly upper body fighting skill. - Etc.
So as you can see, the fight mechanics/physics are based on real life principles. Do they use "film trick" sometimes? Of course they do, but at the core, the fundamentals are realistic.
Hope you learned something, Mr schooler.
You seriously lack comprehension on what you are saying, that's because you don't know anything. Just because you see and read about martial arts doesn't mean you know it.
A swing, a punch, a sprint, a jump, requires body mechanics to carry out an effective execution effortlessly.
There is no mechanics or physics in existence that can make a man perform gravity defying jumps to the top of the building to execute a strike. The is no physics or mechanics in existence that can make a man be faster than the speed of sound.
There is no physics or mechanics in existence that can make a man 'drag himself' across the floor from rest position without an external force.
You talk about dojo, (hallelujah - the birth place of all martial arts) I was surprise it took you this long. And from what you typed up there you have NEVER set foot in one, cos if you do, you would know the goal of the dojo is to strive for perfection and MASTER YOUR WEAKNESSES.
Pls share with us links and videos on how people can jump higher than 10 meters, or skid on the ground around the room, or fly across the room like Superman to perform a sword stroke, since your fight mechanics and physics are based on real life.
What I can tell with your post is you have no idea what fight physics or mechanics is, you don't know it's the mechanics that can determine if you can jump high or not, punch hard or not, kick hard or not.
Take the high jump for instance, no man can jump as high as 2.5 meters if they approach the bar head on, but what the someone did is change the mechanics where physics comes into play. Everything that "moves" IN REAL LIFE employs the laws physics AND the use of mechanics.
of course you are not smart enough to know that you don't know that you are using the wrong words to compare ITB martial arts mechanics and physics to real life situations.
Pls I now need links and videos of real situations where this is possible, not your brainless opinion on this matter. You either provide this links or videos or you take a hike and go write about you live and understand, NOT something you watch and read about BUT don't understand or ever experience it.
mekaprime: LONE SURVIVOR...8/10 GENRE: Action, Biography, Drama
Lone Survivor stands as an outstanding authentic account of bravery and comradeship under fire, with acts of selflessness abounding, presented in a more humanistically, or compassionate way for those who gave their lives on a mission that was doomed from the start( left to me, i would have killed those boys & the old man, knowing fully well, one of 'em was gonna compromise my mission, if eventually let loose)......The kind of the kind of training these Navy S.E.A.Ls undergo is just too hellish & brutal, no wonder they are the best at what they do, go see these TV series, Surviving the Cut & Navy SEALs: BUDS Class 234 & you'll have an inkling of what am talking about.
Careful now, that's a Mark Walberg movie you know.
KoiceReloaded: This is how fools argue. Like I said earlier, there's no point arguing with someone that doesn't understand the fundamental aspects of martial arts. Bye, fool.
I have seen the fundamentals you have been able to lay out. Now you have changed martial arts physics and mechanics to martial arts "maneuvers". Spell out why you know change it from Physics and mechanics to maneuver, you can't.
Explains the physics and mechanics, you can't. All you dish out is petty talk. Showing just how empty you are on the subject, a common case study evades you, normally this is what you would have used to back up your claims, but instead it's links and YouTube.
You are very free to fool yourself, but keep the fooling to yourself. You have no right to mislead people here, anytime you come up with this nonsense theory about something that is as dangerous as martial arts, I will continue to call you out, And school you.
KoiceReloaded: Trained eye?? Hip movement?? Pivot?? Flexibility?? ...Warisdis? You didn't watch the videos, did you? Instead of clawing back to your hole and hold on to any little dignity you have left, you had to show yourself up like this? Nna nawa o. Your mumu too much oo.
Why should I watch any link about what I know, am not like you that run to the internet about what you don't know.
It's sad you can't even spell out the basic body mechanics it takes to execute an effective kick. Instead what do you do? You go online to search for vidoes/links about what you don't know.
I have given enough pointers on the components need to perform a powerful kick, but you that is all knowing in martial arts could only provide "links", no amount of links can be the same to the real thing. You have never taken any martial arts class let alone perform a kick, that's why you need links to put up an argument.
Face it, This is not your fort, stop making a fool of yourself thinking you are smart.
Since when does making unfounded and fallacious claims about fat people equate to scientific reference?? Jesus! You are a half-wit for real, aren't you? You must have been living under a rock, or probably too broke to browse YouTube videos.
Listen half-wit, being fat doesn't limit the fundamental mechanics of an anatomy, okay? Apparently, you don't know how anatomy mechanics work or you wouldn't be spouting such nonsense. As long as a fat person's legs can push them up, and the abdomen allow them to tuck quick enough, they can perform a decent back flip like anyone else.
Tigers weigh half a ton, and can jump higher than any cat alive, Rhinos are extremely chunky but are deceptively fast, and yet, somehow, your lazy brain can't process that these amazing body mechanics are also applicable to humans.
There are several documented videos of chunky people doing amazing things, like in this YouTube videos below
If people like that can do such athletic maneuvers, you can bet your dumbass they can do a spinning kick with enough training.
Whoops! There goes your half-baked and idiotic postulations. I kinda feel sorry for you sha. An idiot thinks everyone is a dullard except him.
*******
I initially didn't want to respond, but then again, leaving you with your deluded notion is tantamount to a crime against humanity. Can't have that.
To a trained eye, the hip movement and the pivot during a kick will tell if the person is flexible or not, if I should ask you now if you have seen this in your Badjie am sure you will be looking for the color of his pants.
Seems you did read where I talked about the FLEXIBILITY as a factor for kicks.
Pls don't digress, address the issue at hand, explain how ITB have good physics and mechanics in martial art, so to your all knowing brain that operates in Einstein's wavelength, a human being can slide across the room and perform a sliding kick, or can jump higher than 3 meters to perform a sword stroke.
You even had to the nerve to mention physics in this rope stunts. Stick to writing movie reviews, don't leave your pond to venture into the sea you have little knowledge about. The sad part is you think you know, but you are horribly blind.
I just pray you dont push this illogical believe to your kids that some things you see in movies have the backing of science so it's feasible. If they try it and then end up dead their blood will be on your hands.
KoiceReloaded: Nah, I don't exchange words with m0rons. The thing about m0rons is they're used to being stupid, and will invariably drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience. I can't risk that. Nope. I got standards, man.
"Wise men speak when they have something to say, fools speak because they have to say something"
I made scientific references about your physics and mechanics of your "spot on" martial arts.
If at all your standards are anything to go by you will debunk my argument using a real incident to explain your physics and mechanics, instead you had to say something and it goes
"Nah, I don't exchange words with m0rons. The thing about m0rons is they're used to being stupid, and will invariably drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience. I can't risk that. Nope. I got standards, man"
You did not have to say something if you had no proof to prove you have "standards"
KoiceReloaded: I don't have the energy to argue with someone that don't know that martial arts can involve weapons. Bye.
Pls can you explain the physics of behind intercepting a dart that is motion with knife that is tucked by the hip? Do you even study law of motion before you bring physics in ITB?
Dont be shy to admit you goofed, martial art is not only about weapons, and from your brilliant write up there, sliding like sub zero on ice to perform a side kick to the groin is correct mechanics and physics?
KoiceReloaded: Not exactly. ITB is a mixture of facts and fantasy. The show got magic in it for crying out loud.
We disagreed on the authenticity of martial arts used. My take was (still is) ITB got the physics and mechanics of the martial arts right (with the exception of the widow fighting on high heels), but took liberties in other aspects. He disagreed by saying people don't fight like that in real life.
Here we go again, You have to start watching MMA fights to understand what you typed up there.
Someone like Bagie got the mechanics to do the stunts you see there?
mekaprime: I did enjoy THE LONGEST YARD, it'll be amongst my top 15, but definitely not my top 10. You know its a remake of the 1974 movie of the same name. If you enjoy sports/competition comedy, do see DODGEBALL TALLADEGA NIGHTS: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby MAJOR PAYNE AMERICAN PIE BETA HOUSE.
I have seen Major Payne, very good movie. What ever happened to Damien Waynes and his brother, haven't seen or heard from those guys in ages.
I will check out the others. Never knew Longest Yard was a remake.
alexistaiwo: I have seen the interview and sorority uprising.
Mad movies
I will try and download the rest on the list.
Gracias
Comedy na comedy to me. As long as I laugh. I will download those three.
Danke
Make sure you download The Longest Yard first, you don't want to miss The Great Khali, Goldberg, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bob Sap all in the same pitch trying to win an American Football match
mekaprime: The movie took a lil turn from the solo comedy genre Jim is quite used to, and he sure did deliver. I was quite left in awe by his performance.. No offense bro, but don't you think 9/10 is a bit too much for that movie.
There are somethings I find peculiar about Jim's performance that's why I gave it 9/10 his acting skills while disguising as different characters in the same movie was very convincing.
mekaprime: TOP 10 COMEDY MOVIES, THAT LITERALLY CRACKED MY RIBS .
Laughter they say is the best medicine, but if you're laughing without reason, then you need medicine( LOL). So subjectively, in no particular order, below are basically top 10 comedy movies, that left me with a cracked rib after seeing 'em.
1. MODERN TIMES (1936) : This was Charlie Chaplins' slapstick skewering of the industrialized America. This was definitely one of Chaplins best LOL movies.
2. CITY LIGHTS (1931) : Also, a Charlie Chaplin movie. This IMO was his best Romance Comedy slapstick, with not only rib cracking scenes, but also with an ending sure that lit up my heart.
3. THE CHANGE UP(2011) : A very crude, vulgar & absolute hilarious R-rated comedy sure to leave your ribs cracked up.
4. 21 JUMP STREET(2012) : 21 jump street offers a rowdy mainstream comedy, with a surprising satisfying bite.
5. THE NE.KADE GUN(1988) : This one was chocked full of gags that are goofy, unapologetic & ultimately hilarious.
6. AMERICAN PIE(1999) : This was my best American pie movie, it was a good nurtured sex comedy, with very good humor and a funny storyline to it.
7. THE HANGOVER(2009) : The hangover nails just the right tone of ranchy humor & non-stop laughs, This is the kind of movie you want to see 100 times, with pranks & puns so silly you love to hate.
8. DUMB AND DUMBER(1994) : Funny, funnier, funniest of Jim Carreys' comedy movie. This one sure got me from my seat to the floor.
9. THE DICTATOR(2012) : A movie packed full of laughter, with a superb plot & great acting & script from Sacha Baron Cohen.
10. HAROLD & KUMAR ESCAPE FROM GUANTANAMO BAY(2008) : Most of its humor in this movie, was either racial, sexual, or drug-related, so, If you can appreciate that type of humor you will be laughing throughout the entire movie, but if not, i'll advice you steer clear of this one.
Speaking of which A Series Of Unfortunate Events 9/10
Children of rich parents that lost their Mum and Dad, now Jim plays the ever impressive role of killing the kids to take over the inheritance. If there is ever a classic to these kind of movies, then this is it cos of its general appeal.
Viking007: As a Catholic and someone who has witnessed first hand demonic possession, that movie was too real. Notwithstanding, I enjoyed it . I'll check out the Hellraiser later today.
IF so then forget about the Hellraiser series cos it's no where near something like this.
mekaprime: I don't think protection team is gonna help matters here, I think why the TRANSFORMERS transition from animated series to movies was successful was because the concept was new/original/virgin to the movie sphere, basically nothing in that nature has been done before, unlike VOLTRONs' case were we already have look alikes eg the latest POWER RANGERS movie..If all is duly taken into account, then VOLTRONS transition might well be mirage.
AfroSamurai: Hollywood have always been behind when it comes to making animation.
Think about it, before Hollywood made a movie where a man was flying, Asians have already been there done that. Lol.
Ninja Scroll. Wow. Where did you download it from? You just made me remember Samurai Showdown. Would really love to see those animation again.
I cant help but to go back to the old classics, the new stuff these days have very low success rate, the plus they have is the improved digital effects.
I believe the final fight with Sepheroth is the bomb. Almost nothing compares to that fight scene.
It's sad we only have few of this kind of animation.
I was watching Ninja Scroll again the other time and I said damn what is wrong with Hollywood that its becoming difficult to find original story line. Can't they meet their Asian brothers for ideas? These Asians and their imagination are on another level.
mekaprime: Are they planning on making it for the big screen? .If so, then its gonna really suck. Take MAX STEEL for instance,IMO, its transition from animated series to the big screen really flopped big time..some animated series are not just meant for the big screen.
That's true. But I think all it takes is good protection team. Transformers did not do too badly.
I remember how I was cringing when I heard they were going to make a God of War movie with Dwayne Johnson as Kratos, I thought we were doomed.
This is how you make a screen adaptation from a game, keeping it simple, stick to plot with continuity. I don't know which gets me, the fight scenes or the lonely Cloud, or the childish but dangerous Kadaj gang. The game storyline and that of Vincent are neatly woven into this master piece.
The wife of top government spy fronting as sales man, wanted to cheat on her husband with a con man that was pretending to be a secret agent, the husband learns about this and planed a sting operation to burst the wife and the con man red handed.
Soon the wife find out who her husband really is (the kind of man she has been dreaming about) when the bad guys came calling.
