What are you on about? Must have really pained you, huh? Sorry o. But, you know what they say, truth is bitter. You have a terrible taste in movies. tongue
How does your inert opinion about my taste in movies matter to me?
Maybe your minions here have made you think you are relevant.

That's quite odd. I think it is one if the best in the franchise. It has more heart and emotion than the others
This is just a diversion, that's why I called it the Watered down version.

That movie ended up being a romantic Comedy... Waste
The first 10 mins of that movie was the lit,
After that romance and comedy I believe if they had their way they would have thrown in some Bollywood singing and dancing.
I don't know since when The Transformers became domesticated.

Then stick to your generic CGI mayhem, and stop undermining a much deeper story just so you could feel better about your poor questionable taste. tongue
So your taste is rich now?
Are you high or something?

And what do you mean deeper story? The problem with you guys is you don't have longevity, you jump on moving band wagon, when that stops, you jump to the next moving wagon.

The name on moniker is supposed to be 'Prime' but that was taken. So I opted for 'pryme' that was way back in 2011, I was strong Transformers follower before having a Nairaland account.

So you are in no position to question my 'taste' when it comes to this particular franchise.
you can impose your opinion to your minions here and they will gulp it down,
When you are dealing with me you should start getting used to having your gold thrown back at your face cos we don't value the same things.
you are free to express your opinions but you are in no position to impose it on me, to me you just another person that has an opinion and it's no way sacrosanct.

We don't operate on the same frequency, you don't know what I know.
The sooner you realize this the sooner you start asking questions, and learn new things.

The laugh way I just laugh, had to stop because I'm at work. Transformers franchise that already has poor plot in its entirety, it's now this one you're having issue with, you've got jokes. cheesy cheesy

Please free yourself, get a better excuse. Bay's Transformers franchise is just basically about the MacGuffin, some rather powerful contradictions, funding from the American military, unwanted stereotypes, explosions, useless retconning & questionable choices by characters in the films. So, get another excuse, just say this is the quietest one you've watched as you were not distracted by Bay's use of noise and explosions. Plot... **laughs**

Kaycee7, what were y'all arguing about?
Look I gave this movie my score, just because you think this movies is cool, it doesn't make it among my top 3 Transformers, it could be placed on 4th.
This is my stand on the movie its pointless telling you why I said it's a "Watered down version", it will sound Greek to you.

I can't believe I spent time arguing with someone who thinks Bumblebee is the worst Transformers movie.
No you better believe it.

Actually, all the transformers films are overhyped CGI borefest. Bumblebee is the best of the lot. It's more than a robot p*rn (explosions and whatnot). It's about hope and love.
I will rather stick to war and chaos as far as the Transformers are concerned.

Sweet, a bit slow, but sweet nontheless. A very entertaining watch. I still wonder why they are rebooting the franchise....

Polar - 4.5

A company employs hitmen and assassins, they also double as a pension fund administrator for these hitmen,
when they turn 50, they will be retired from service and they will be paid their pension/gratuity.
But funny thing is there is a clause in the contract that states that if any of the employees (the hitmen or assassins) where to die in active service before retirement, the pensions and gratuity will go to the company.
For some reason any hit man that is about to retire gets killed.
Turns out the Director was greedy, now it was the turn of the Black Keizer to retire (one the most deadliest hit man)

The storyline seems genuine, sadly the point where the protagonist recovered within a few days after surviving 4 days of torture to stage a come back is what dropped the points for me.

In all its a logical movie, Which I can relate to.

Contains nudity and gore.

Mads Mikkelsen going in Valhalla Rising style but with guns in this one instead of machetes.

You said exactly the same thing to me when I called you out on this issue just a few days ago. Apparently anyone that likes a well choreographed martial art-themed tv show has a poor standard. Nigga please.

Variety is a spice of life. Everyone has their comfort zone, but sometimes, something comes along and forces you to leave your comfort zone, momentarily. My comfort zone is a good and well marinated slow burn, but I also dabble in sci-fi and martial art productions... and I know a good one when they come along. Into the Badlands is no slouch in the martial art department, trust me. The fight scenes are grounded, gritty, aesthetically pleasing, and most importantly, realistic. People do actually fight like as portrayed in that show. Certain liberties were taken, sure, but they weren't taken too far.

Comparing it to other shows that have martial art content (Preacher, Banshee, Altered Carbon, Buffy, Daredevil] etc) ITBL fares pretty well indeed. It has high production values, a huge chunk of which were dedicated to making the fight scenes look realistic and spectacular - none of that shaky camera stuff that are synonymous with low budget productions. The lead is also a martial artist in real life. I mean, what more can one ask for in a tv show that has it's principal theme centered on martial arts? If you want more intellectual stuff, then download any HBO stuff already, and leave ITBL for those that enjoy them. I love slow burners, but I also love a good fight (MMA), high tech stuffs (Sci-fi), and a good laugh (comedy).

Variety, bro, variety.
When you mean the fights scenes are realistic do you mean you can apply these techniques in real life?
I don't expect you to see this from my point of view, your ITBL is just average when it comes to fight scenes don't be deceived by the "quantity" of fight scenes in these series non of them have quality. Where ITBL scores high for me is indeed the plot, it beats the fights hands down.
You talk of mma like it's and art for exhibition, an mma fighter will leave the room if his watching a fight scene in ITBL.

Isreal Adesanya got some of his moves from a movie called Ong Bak, Jon Jones got most of his striking techniques from YouTube videos, do you now see where am coming from?
Most the things done in the fight scenes in ITBL won't cut it in real life, that's why I used the term "unrealistic" here. What you see in ITBL is more like martial art exhibitions.
I study martial arts not movies.
If you argue like a martial artist then we will come to a common ground, but clearly you are not,
So will agree to disagree.

I understand your take on variety, but damn just because I don't like rice does that mean I will eat a half cooked rice when I want to eat rice?
Am watching season 3 now but without the fight scenes, I take back what I said before ITBL has a good plot, I was just blinded by anger from the fight scenes.

You most definitely never watched any Wuxia movie. You're absolutely unqualified to give any opinion on Into The Badlands. Abeg stick to your "realistic" options and leave the Badlands for us.
You are definitely not qualified to bring me down to your poor standards, like you said I will leave your low standards to your likes.

Seunpaul01:
80% of movies are unrealistic and products of fiction. If episodes 1 and 2 of first season does not make sense i will walk out just as I did in Blacklist. The storyline has to be on point.
No you misunderstood me, of course most movies are fiction, but at least the plot should be possible as in realistic (meaning it could happen) Humans Flipping and flying like birds during a sword fight, is not realistic.

The story line of into The Badlands really improved in season 3, but the directors or producers are way too eager for violence and gore, thus it sacrifice common sense (with good content) for unnecessary fight scenes, most of them look below par to someone that has trained in martial arts before.
This is one of the reasons I said it's unrealistic, a dart takes (at most) half a second to reach its target across 5 meters, but someone will grab a knife and throw it and intercept a dart that was already in motion, this is like the norm here, am sure this fascinate young kids - not me.

What I do now is i skip the fight scenes and only watch the dialogs, this has made watching it a bit bearable for me.

But if you are based Lagos I don't think there will be any delays to get your items when it enter Naija.
