I'm only sorry for Cameroon;they connived with their masters in Paris to provide a save haven for Boko Haram in Northern Cameroon,so as to destroy Nigeria. They forgotten that Cameroon just like Nigeria has a North/South divide,where the North is largely muslim and the South mainly Christian. As at independence France gave political power to Northern Cameroon...but evenually the Southern Cameroonians wrestled power from the North. For almost 30 years, political power has resided in Southern Cameroon led by Paul Biya. A lot of Northern muslim Cameroonians still feel aggrieved and marginalized. France also is weary of President Paul Biya,who now insists that his people assert more control over Cameroonian Oil wells (Yes, Cameroon is also an oil producer and ALL her oil industry is controlled 100% by France) My prediction is, sooner than later runaway Boko Haram fighters will team up with Northern Cameroonians and form a formidable rebel group that will march down South and overthrow president Paul Biya. It is only then that we'll see Paul Biya shuttling between Abuja and Yaounde but Nigeria will form 'siddon look'. Boko Haram's military campaign in Nigeria has failed; in spite of all our imperfections,The Nigerian army is too strong for them-BH can only rely on guerilla tactics that will be limited to remote border towns. 3 Likes |

Boko Haram is broke and needs more money-JTF has destroyed most of their capacity,that's why they only attack defenceless villagers and travellers in remote areas. Foreign countries like France that have always wanted a weakened Nigeria use ransom payments to fund insurgents. This may sound heartless and may God forgive me but I call on Nigerian govt to call Boko Haram's bluff and let them do what they like with the french priest. U mentioned ASUU strike just now,as bad as it is,there are still many private Nigerian universities with thousands of students not affected by the strike. But with the way u sounded,a foreigner may assume that every single Nigerian university student is stranded at home. Not making any excuses for Nigerian govt.vs ASUU-they are both As$holes. My only problem with a lot of Nigerians in the diaspora is that they somewhat love to celebrate Nigeria's problems and bombard their little minds with such NEGATIVE thoughts on Nigeria. As if to justify their mediocre lives in foreign lands. I only mentioned Seun/Linda Ikeji and you are 'shaking'; i havent even talked about the young artistes,actors,fashion designers,the young brains behind Jumia, Konga etc.-all doing it big in Naija without any prior political connect. 5 Likes |

LOL...I've just been laughing at some of the Nigerians residing in the US and claiming their successes on NAIRALAND. My only question now is, can any 'successful' Americana on this thread claim to be richer or more successful than Nairaland's CEO Seun? Seun is based in Nigeria,nurtured Nairaland in Nigeria, makes his money in Nigeria. While many 'Americanahs' on this thread probably work 3 jobs in order to live their American dream-a Seun (or a Linda Ikeji) can travel to America at will,rock the place and come back to Nigeria to continue making their money. The other guy that claims to be earning 60k USD salary; u'd be surprised that taxation takes almost 60% of that amount. My point is, immigration is ok,and America has its own good and bad sides BUT i declare that NIGERIA is the only country where a BLACK MAN/WOMAN can pursue unlimited success,achieve it and chop his/her money in 'relative' peace...forget the crimes and kidnapping,it can happen anywhere-na God dey protect person. 2 Likes |

4 Reasons why i agree with El Rufai: 1. The lazy GEJ completed the privatization of electricity,and keeps commissioning new power plants in Nigeria. 2. The Useless GEJ revived Agriculture and turned it into a business, not a social responsibility (imagine begging people to go and farm?) 3. The Docile GEJ built an anti-terrorism system in Nigeria from scratch-a system that has now turned remnants of Boko Haram into cannibals killing their own people. 4. Be open to younger men: if you are in your mid 30s upwards and still insisting on finding an older man; be prepared to settle down with a divorcee, widower, polygamist, handicap or a homosexual. Go figure. 3. Never close doors to suitors even if you are in a relationship. A lot of women make this mistake and become prey to 'TIME WASTERS'. If a woman is currently dating a man that has not yet paid her bride price she MUST never close her doors to other 'serious' toasters. This doesnt mean she should sleep around,but keep them as friends. You may break off the friendship with all your toasters ONLY after your current boyfriend has presented wine to your family and openly declared his intention to marry you with an established time-table. 4. If he's relocating abroad,break up with him IMMEDIATELY-unless you are on that flight with him. Many SSGs have enough "my boyfriend in abroad" tales-you don't need that. 5. Join an NGO or a Charity group NOT church worker. A lot of SSGs erroneously find solace in church activities,especially those in pentecostals. A few times, things do work out but many times these ladies become prey to their Pastor's se><ual whims and caprices. At times certain 'Daddy G.Os' compulsorily hook up the financially buoyant SSGs with young,upcoming struggling Pastors-hoping that these ladies will use their money to build up his ministry. Of course these 'Daddy G.Os' always use, "the holy spirit revealed to me that he's your husband" line. 6. Stay Sexy: there are many 40 year old women out there that can still give men wet dreams. Some SSGs always end up mummifying themselves like people with no hope...mba nu! Unless they choose to remain die-hard hypocrites; supporters of APC should by now be ashamed of their party and its leadership. Before now,APC (Nee ACN) had constantly been in the forefront of blaming/condeming PDP for the woes in Nigeria since 1999. Today, APC is down on its knees begging seven sitting PDP governors and other disgruntled PDP chieftains to join their ranks. Ironically,most of these 'new' PDP chietains have been major actors, part and parcel of the percieved rot created by PDP since 1999 even when President Goodluck Jonathan was a political nonentity. APC has shown its TRUE colours as a CLUELESS artificial creation of necessity; woe betide them if some (or most) of these nPDP members eventually end up reconciling with the main PDP. But oh,there's more...a few months after loosing his money on stocks,he also lost his bank job. It didnt end there,his pregnant wife,also a banker was laid off too. This was in 2010. Today he works in a Micro finance bank, his wife a private school teacher,their daughter now a toodler in kindergarten. Their struggle continues. My friend u never see wahala yet. |

Some years ago, Nigerian movie practitioners discovered a new frontier in Ghana; A neighbouring Anglophone country with relatively lower labour costs, better electricity and greater ease in terms of logistics. And so the mad rush began; Nollywood investors,producers and directors trooped into Ghana. In no time the Ghanaian movie industry bloosomed giving birth to stars like Van Vicker, Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Nelson, Juliet Ibrahim, Nadia Buari and a host of others-all under Nigeria's pay role (most times) Unfortunately, a cross section of Ghanaians allowed this successes to get into their heads-they began to loathe Nigeria's influence on their movie industry. About two years ago, misguided Ghanaian regulatory authorities decided to impose a huge fine/levy/tax on all Nigerian movie producers and actors wishing to work in Ghana. For Nigeria,this was the provebial insult that broke the camel's back. Led by Segun Arinze, Nigerian movie practitioners decided to collectively turn their backs on Ghana as it concerns movie production,marketing and distribution. Though a few independent Nigerian producers still patronize Ghanaian talents...just a few. Fast foward to this day,the Ghanaian movie industry or Ghallywood as its fondly called has all but crumbled. Especially as it concerns the English genre. What obtains in Ghana now is a switch to incredibly low budget 'Twi language' movies called Kumawood based largely in and around Kumasi. Most big actors in Ghana have of late been practically rendered jobless-Nigerian producers no longer patronize them like before. Many like Michael Magid, Juliet Ibrahim and Yvonne Nelson have tried to self-produce their own movies,sometimes even launching such movies in Nigeria...but they've failed. Others have laid their hands on other businesses like TV shows, Clothing lines and NGOs-the struggle continues for them. Meanwhile Nollywood has continued to make giant strides in improving the picture and sound quality of its movies. This is a true story and not an attempt to start any useless Ghana vs Naija online war. |

Symphony007: no matter what angle he approaches it from they will loose because these members will always say they are PDP members. They have never claimed independence, so i wonder how they would want to frame them as decamping. If they are expelled from the party then they retain their seat because the constition under section 68 makes no provision for that.Have you forgotten that these 57 legislatiors signed a written declaration of support for Baraje led nPDP? Plus several video evidence of their press conferences and the likes. Unless GEJ decides to forgive them, nPDP and its legislative members are toast. The G7 governors are safe but they will become isolated. In Kano for instance,Mohammed Abacha is already standing by to take over kano's PDP machinery from Kwankwanso. |

Last year,Trace Urban faced allegations of strifling Naija music's percieved domination in Africa in order to favour South African music. If you'd recall about a decade ago SA's music industry dominated Africa before Nigerians took over. Trace Urban entered the Nigerian market with the fraudulent claim of promoting Naija music internationally. However what they did was simply come in, embrace and milk established Naija acts like Psquare,Iceprince,Davido,Dbanj etc...but they shut doors to many upcoming Naija acts. Whereas in South Africa,Trace aggressively embraces both established and upcoming SA acts using their Africa 10 charts to hype them. Here's a list of some Naija hit songs that Trace refused to (or hardly) broadcast. -Burna boy,run my race -Phyno,Olamide, ghost mode -Ill bliss, anamachikwanu -Chidinma, emi ni baller -Sean Tizzle, sholee - Jesse Jagz,redemption - Sheyi Shay, irawo,loving ur way - Olamide,duro soke The list is quite long. As for Ill bliss,in 2012 when Trace urban rejected his Anamachikwanu video (calling it poor quality) he vowed never to send music videos to Trace Urban. Trace Urban also prefers Nigerian music videos shot in SA...it's a silent yardstick for having ur video aired on their channel. Thank God for MTVbase though! |

payless: I saw Abiola, Musa Yar'Adua, Tukur, Arishekola..............Abeg shut up,ethnic and religious politics has always existed amongst the Nigerian(Northern) ruling elite. If not, why didn't they hand over to MKO after June 1993? Abiola practised the 'right' religion, was in the right party (SDP) but was from the wrong ethnic group.
